Hey people, I designed a new layout when the loot system update came out and wanted to share it so it doesn't disappear when I move up to TH10 (2 days left), hopefully it will help someone.

First of all: A big thanks to Junliang in the Exodias clans for the inspiration of the core (pretty much a rip off) from his Transformer Pokeball base. I hope it's ok that I took myself the liberty to use it in my design.

I felt the need for a new layout after the latest update because I had the feeling that I would get attacked a whole lot more with better troops.
It's in my opinion a very nice farming design with all the storages evenly spread out in the base and every storage in a different compartment, making it extremely difficult reaching them all.
The Clan castle is unlurable without picking off some buildings and the teslas on the outside serve as a hog lure protection.
The pushed out buildings on the barbarian king side makes him harder to lure out but it's possible (as shown in the picture). I've normaly my AQ in that spot but she's currently upgrading and both heroes are close enough to the center that they have to be dealt with no matter attacking side.
The open moat will funnel giants into the spring traps on each side.
Changing the CC and DE storage: Positive, it will make it harder to lure out the CC and it's more likely that you will be attacked from where the teslas are. Negative, the DE will be less protected and it will be very close to the gold storage, lightning will hurt more.
I prefer to not use the giant bombs while farming cause of the cost.

Attacks: Almost full (capped)storages in each defence.
37 hogs(lvl5), 49 archers(lvl6), 4 wiz(lvl5), lvl 7AQ, lvl 8 BK and 4 healing spells(lvl6)
33k gold, 179 elixir and 4 DE stolen (77%). It's not a hog base but the tesla traps worked, he triggered all 3 in a attempt to lure my CC troops. Managed to lure out the CC by attacking the cannon on the left side, for a respons to that check the modified picture.
9 drags(lvl3), 25 archers(lvl6), 2 minions(lvl2), 4 wiz(lvl5) and 3 rage spells(lvl2)
2k gold, 177k elixir and 6 DE stolen (39%). Not the best dragon attack, he reached 2 out of 9 storages, not worried about those.
37 balloons(lvl6), 22 minions(lvl5), 5 archers(lvl5), lvl 6 AQ, lvl 5 BK and 4 rage spells(lvl5).
14k gold, 110k elixir and 19 DE stolen (38%). He didn't lure my CC troops and payed for it. Same as for hogs, hard to activate the CC because of the teslas, for extra protection check the modified version.
Got attacked by 2x giant/healer, 1 failed and 1 hurt me bad by reaching my DE but it was with bad AD placement, havn't been attacked with giant/healer since I moved them(as the placements are in the pictures).
12 giants(lvl6), 2 healers(lvl4), 11 wiz(lvl6), 10 wbs(lvl6), 11 minions(lvl5), 26 archers(lvl6), 30 gobs(lvl6), 40 barbs(lvl6) and 2 rage spells(lvl5)
139k gold, 81k elixir and 2250 DE stolen (35%). He raged his way through and took out my AD quickly, his wiz was healed with the giants and they managed to take out my CC troops easily. The attack ended quickly when the healers came close to the other ADs (had the ADs where the gold storages are in the pic, took some time until they started fireing on the healers).

Modified version, cannons on each side pushed out 1 square making it even harder for hogs to lure CC troops (Balloons will still trigger CC but the layout performs well against air attacks). Bringing in more effective funneling, it's more likely giants will hit more spring traps in this modified layout.
Leaves less compartments to break through and havn't been tested yet.

It has quickly become my favourite TH 9 farming design, defending well against a variety of attacks. I'm well aware that most of you won't have a as upgraded base as me but I'm positive that it will perform well anyway.

i would switch de with cc but other wise looks good and sounds as if performs fairly well. besides taking that big hit to your de with that giant healer attack i believe it was.

Yeah I agree that it could be a good switch, personally I prefer to keep the DE away from the gold storage. Thanks! So far so good, unfortunate on the Healer/giant but I think rearranging the AD will keep them away.

33k gold, 45k elixir and 50 DE (27%). Got most of the gold/DE from the lightning, used it on CC troops between the storages.

I made it a few days ago so only used it between 1500-1900 trophies and it seem to hold up well here. The higher you go the heavier troops but I hope and believe that it will protect my resources in crystal league aswell, I'm planning on going up there when I hit TH10.
Before the update I'd say 1300-1500 for gold/elixir and 1600+ if you want DE aswell. It's a bit early to say if the update will change anything but I'm raiding between 1600-1800 now and gotten some nice loot. Started to move up to prepare for my new Coc life as a TH 10 farmer but I got some clanmates still at 1300-1500 that still are getting their storages filled.
You can try out both of them (give it some time) and see what's the best fit for you, more storage raiding up here.

2k gold and 2k elixir stolen (20%). Had obviously to weak troops but I'm not getting many real attacks so mentioned it anyway, 4579 in total resource loss (0 DE) is ok in my book.

30 hogs(lvl5), 10 giants(lvl6), 44 archers(lvl6), lvl 3 BK, lvl 3 AQ and 2 healspells(lvl4)
89k gold, 700 elixir and 12 DE (32%).

I'm at TH 10 now, hence no more defence update. I havn't changed the base yet, just bought new stuff so far so copy away. :)

I like this design but theres one thing i don't like abt this design. Tesla placement, looks like u completely ignore the tesla and just put them outside. They come in handy when getting attacked by PEKKA.
I hope you can redesign or edit a little to fit the teslas in the wall.

Thank you! :) Well I tried to explain it but they are not randomly placed, this is a farming base and to be honest you don't see alot of pekkas while farming. The teslas are hog traps making it harder to lure out my CC troops (as you can see in the second image they are all out of the CC trigger range) , it has done well so far, as I posted earlier there's been 2 hog attacks and I count both of them as wins considering the amout of resources they got for the army cost.

I'm not a fan of obvious tesla placements cause it's a waste of their invicibility advantage, the 3 teslas at the bottom is quite essential to the layout if you don't switch out your CC for your DE. If you do I'd recommend to move out the DE drills and the 2 goldmines on opposite side one square which gives you 4 tesla spots, put them where you seem to be attacked the most.

But I agree with the person who suggested to have teslas inside. I understand your logic but I don’t think it would not work against an experienced hog raider.

If I was raiding your base with hogs, I would first of all avoid your base. For me, CC has to be lurable with barbs. I don’t want to waste 4-5 hogs to lure CC and heroes out. Anyway, understand some do, but again, if I release a hog from that side (which is the obvious side) and a tesla pops up, I would not continue any further from that side. I would send another hog from another side to lure your CC. And that would basically make teslas useless. It would not work against giants either as giants would go for the funnel where are the next closest defense instead of the other tesla.

I would suggest that you make it same way as you have done for the tesla on top, put them in the funnel area. If possible make that funnel a 2 square path so you can add some giants bombs and also keep attackers guessing where the teslas can be.

Anyway, otherwise, good job. Well designed base overall.

To explain why: Most hog attackers would probably skip it but the 2-3 star when someone don't hurts, both the hog attackers in my defence log tried to lure the CC, one with giants, he ended up using all his cleanup crew to take out my CC troops when the tesla popped up (it is protected by 3 other defences), the other one with hogs. First hog in the center, facing the tesla, second one to the left, facing second tesla, third one to the right, facing third tesla, after that he managed to lure out the CC by the left side cannon with 3 hogs making it a total of 6 hogs. It has worked as intended so far but I'm sure as you pointed out that a better player could get past it.
It's not possible to lure out the CC without destroying a defensive building besides the cannons on left and right, use Picture 2 layout if you want a better hog protection, havn't tried it myself but it should be out of range.

Putting the teslas in the funnel and centralising the CC would improve the base alot, unfortuanately there's not enough walls, you could try to use more funneling by removing walls or remove the walls in the center for a bigger cross like core but that would make the base to open in my opinion.

Tweak the layout to fit your upgrade lvl and your usual attacker (if you never get attacked by hogs in the 1200 trophie region theres no point of the hog lure trap), what works for me might not work for you :) use the layout as an inspiration, modify it a little bit or just copy it, I don't mind, I just hope it helps in some way.

The accusations... First of all, I don't recognize your clan, your name or your base, havn't gotten the layout from you I'm sorry. Second, I got the core (same as you have) from Junliangs youtube channel and credited him for it and would have done the same for you if I had in fact gotten it from you, I don't know if he got it from you or not. Third, the part I've made myself (outer part of the base, tesla placement etc) isn't at all the same as yours. Fourth, if that's the base you got after beeing a TH 9 for over a year you seriously need to play more, you still got TH 8 upgrades so forgive if I'm wrong but I call ♥♥ on that.

True, I wouldn't worry about hogs either. As I said, I would simply skip your base. For me, when I am hogging, luring cc with barbs only is a must. I dont want to waste 4-5 hogs to lure CC, it weakens my troops. I would rather be patient and skip. Lessons learnt from mistakes :), sometimes I have been too greedy or impatient and tried to attack bases with unlurable cc, = failure.

It was the original design Taj but I prefer to have all storages in different compartments and I ran into some troubles with giant/healer by having my ADs in a cross instead of a square, the healer stays so far behind the army that it's enough to take out 1 AD to make it to the center. Some well placed Air mines might do the trick but that's why I changed it :) tnx for the feedback!

Good move, it hurts both the attacker and the defender with a half successful hog attack :)

I totally agree with your tesla explanation but, what if, what if you really wanna put teslas inside the walls, how would it be like ? Because some of us OCD clashers wont feel comfortable with that tesla placement. Please post a screenshot if you attempt to put the teslas inside the walls.

Your core (middle of base) sucks, both cc troops and hero are easily pulled making half of whats in your middle useless. I just went th10 so i don't have mine, i have a better version of it :-). But if you want to see a good th9 farming base look up ethab the great in my clan, he copied mine.

You have to destroy 3 Buildings and 1 tesla to lure out the CC from the southwest, only way to lure it out without taking out extra Buildings first is by using hogs/balloons on the cannons I talked about earlier, it's hardly easy. The hero can be lured out on the top with some nice timing, it usually does the trick at a farming range though, no one has lured him out yet. Check the pictures again.

There was no Ethab the great in your clan, if it's Ethan you meant you're kind of a hypocrite, both heroes inside walls and extremely easy to lure out and the CC reaching over the top wall, won't even need to destroy a building to get the troops out. The same with your TH 10 base actually, only difference is that your heroes are in the bottom making it unnecessary to even alert them.

Feel free to come with some real feedback instead of just promoting yourself but please skip the rude attitude.
I'm at TH 10 aswell, just posted this base in an attempt to help people because it worked well for me.

Your CCs trigger range are obviously over the walls making it possible to lure all the troops out with 1 giant. So once again, the CC in my layout is harder to lure out, really don't know what you're getting at besides trying to promote your base, which in my eyes just are Hannibals TH 9 base without staggered junctions and funnelings.

This base actually looks like it would be very useful. But one thing I would change, I'd switch the DE storage with the clan castle, just cause a centered clan castle is something I favor. But that's just me. All in all, great job on this base.

Thank you! Yeah, I suggested that you can do that aswell with some tesla Changes. :) Another + side is that 9/10 attacks will come from the DE side in that case, negative part is that it's not as protected as much and that it's more sensitive to Lightnings Close to the Gold storage. Modify it as you see fit.

I'm pretty sure that I've posted all "real" attacks on the base, I used it over a 2-3 week period or so. The giant/healer I mentioned in my Op took all my DE, however that wasn't exactly the same base, I switched my AD:s and my gold storages after that so it shouldn't have any problems with that combo anymore.

Forgot the core question, it was breached 2 times during the time I used it. Giant/healer was one and can't remember the other (didn't touch the DE though), hogs jumped into the core but I wouldn't call that breaching it :rolleyes:

Hi Beerking, I like your base design seriously :) most importantly I like the way you handle those critics in here, you have to know you cannot please everyone and some much have terrible soft-skill and keeps condemning a person rather than giving valuable feedback.

Anyway, just a question, would it be useful if I place both your tesla outside in replacement of the 2 heroes?

Like the rest, I'm also quite uncomfortable having teslas outside especially it takes a long time to build them.
Would you recommend this?

Yes that would be very useful if your heroes aren't defending anyways. My suggestion would be to move in 1 of the North and east placed mortars to the AQ spot and move the other mortar to the South box, keeping them triangulated and the lesser protected ones defended one side and the one in the core the other side. Just put the teslas in the free spots.

Not sure what you could do about the last tesla but if you're leaving one on the outside I would keep the South west one, it gets triggered every attack.

Great design! One of the best I've seen for a th9 :) If I'd still be th9 I'd test it out for sure, but I got my th10 a couple of days ago. Anyway, I checked your base out, see you are already full on into the th10! Really like your current th10 layout, I have a question. How much do people attack you for your elixir? I'm already upgrading my lab, so I can start those level 6 wbs and wizards (yey!), and I'll need that elixir. But as I was finishing my th9 I had my elixir on the most outer layer of my base, and very rarely got attacked for it. So yeah, I don't know if I should try to protect it all, or do as you did? I did make a layout for myself, waiting for my IT's to finish. Then I'll test it out, how is your working out until now? If mine doesn't work out as planed, would you be willing to let me borrow yours? Sorry for all the questions, it just seems like you know a thing or two about layouts, and you being a (sort of) new th10, I think I'll get some great advice. Thank you, means alot coming from a very experienced player :) Great job on that gold grab and awesome job on your friend in need!
People rarely attack just for the elixir, I've had one that took 200k, otherwise it's going for the core or TH snipers.
Most of the time the attackers are interested in my DE, shows 3k so can't blame them.
The base is holding up alright, I've had some rough attacks with hogs and high lvl heroes where they've gotten alot. I'm going to make a thread for my TH 10 design later when I can test it properly, having 3-4 important defences upgrading at the same time makes it alot weaker.

I like your TH 9 design, will be interesting to see your TH 10 :) and you are very welcome to try out my design if you want, makes me happy if I can help!

Thanks a lot man, and likewise! And what kind of trophy range suits you for farming purposes? I've found that I can't really go lower than 1600, so Gold II has been a sweet spot for me. Plenty of fresh th9s, with some abandoned basses mixed in there, with a little premmie 9s and 10s, so it's been pretty good. I've actually been playing around a little bit, bassicaly just turned my th9 layout into a th10. I can post a picture if you'd like to see. And would love to hear your opinion about it. I think I'll be setting it up in 5 days, when my second IT finishes. Anyway, thanks again for your help, I'll be waiting for your th10 thread :) Cheers!

I'm hoovering around 1800-2100 the gold fill up to fast for my builders with boosted barracks so I'm getting some DE aswell. Yeah post it when you got it set up :) Np man!

Sorry but do the giants really walk the path from the cannon to the arch tower?
Because IMO, i think the distance is a little too far for giants to be lured and they will just attack the walled AT that is nearer.
Like the moat though =]

It's on the edge unfortuanately, have had a few attacks where they starts attacking the walls and some where they walk around and some where they split up in two, seemed to depend on the deployment. Can't really test it further to give a better answear, if anyone has tested it feel free to post your experiences! :)

Just made this base. Looks awesome, question though how well does the funneling work, people in my clan say it won't?

Love the base. Made a tweak to the moat outside and made it into a funnel and giant bombs will not stop or almost kill hogs. It won't let me post my as, clan name is virus ign is matt

Hello, the base looks like a really great farming base, so i build it with my own little customize what terms teslas and traps. The spring traps are easily to activate with 1 giant, the giant bombs are not really good placed what i think...don't know if it work if someone spawn there...but i thinks its a smaller chance.

After i go off some minutes without shild i get attacked with 9 dragons. The base defensed against this pretty nice! :)

I will post the screenshots and i'm looking forward to a answer. :) I'm since 3 weeks on townhall 9.

I'm really happy that people seem to like the design, it's however about 10 months old and got some functions to defend from hog attacks since they were quite annoying back then, they aren't really needed since the hero trigger function changed. I've also seen some comments saying that the funneling doesn't works as well as intended.

My suggestion would therefore be to move out the funneling walls 1 Square and Place the teslas in the corners (as suggested in a few comments), this should solve the funneling problem and make more use of the teslas. I don't Think I used the giant bombs since they are expensive to reload (hence the placement on the outside in the pics) but you can Place them in the funnel as well if you want to use them.

The problem is ofc the "missing" defence, the base will become a Little bit unbalanced since you only got 5 cannons, you got some extra splash damage coverage to make up for it but I would consider using 1 or 2 giant bombs as well in that area.

The base still looks good to me and I hope the suggested Changes will make it even better and more up to date :)

No, rip-off of this base. Cant believe how ignorant you are to not see that this is an identical base with a few buildings moved.

Did some changes a few months back and im using this till now but I ain't got success with giants and wbs. Will change the setup soon. But maybe some1 want to use this.

Nice base overall but it doesn't have an anti archer queen core meaning once the archer queen guys to the core, she can snipe all of the gold storages. Other than that, base looks great👍
