How to increase your chances of an xmas tree

I redesigned my base, trying to get a big tree or xmas tree to spawn in the middle. Nothing has spawned in there yet, not even a small bush. I placed all my buildings along the outer edge and left a big open space in the middle. The open spacing is surrounded by walls with nothing inside, to protect my base from raids at least.

There is a ton of open space inside but can obstacles still spawn inside with walls all around? Or should i remove one wall... maybe i've been unlucky in spawns?

It's all down to luck but I would imagine almost everyone will get one in the end. I would give you mine since I hate the look of them but I suppose I got lucky because it spawned in the 'deadzone' of my map.

It's all about luck. All you do is clear up your trees,bushes etc for a better chance to get one.

Okay, so if i have a big gap in the middle of my base with plenty of room to spawn something but that space is surrounded by walls (to protect the rest of my base from enemies) , will an obstacle spawn in there?

There needs to be an empty 2x2 area for an x-mas tree to spawn. Since walls push the spawn area back with one square, you would need to have a 6x6 empty area for the tree to spawn, and enemy troops would be able to spawn in there as well. Like this:

Where X = wall, * = pushed-back spawn radius (nothing can spawn on these squares), and T = obstacle spawn area.
Not advisable, and not sure why you'd want this :p

Thank you for the awesome example! I have something set up similar but bigger. Now i need the luck. I'm just having fun, i want a big tree or xmas tree in the middle. For myself I love to RP and it would be like having yggdrasil in my base :)

I've realized something with a few accounts, those accounts with less frequent log ins had a higher chance for an Xmas tree spawning, so if you want one, go inactive for a few days.

me too, i haven't got the xmas tree. I played too much.. LOL

I got a christmas tree....its rare....but the loot sucks....some ppl say u get 225 gems....but wen i removed mine i got 75000 gold but it cost 25000 to remove so i basically got 50000 its a waste of time to remove it...just keep it as a decoration
