CWL bonus distribution among clan members from Leads

First war we were in gold league 1 and won all our 7 wars and got total 320 stars.

We were given 60 bonus medals which can be distributed to 9 players out of 15

I am the clan leader and th12 player and i gave away 60 medals each to the players who are actually not so active players and those who just upgraded their town hall and early in that because i feel they need the medals most.

Our clan promoted to crystal 3 for next cwl and we are looking forward to winning that too.

How about your clan cwl bonus medals distribution?. Please share your thoughts?

TLDR: Totally agree with this. Below is details on how I’d implement this idea.

I posted the same thing in another post yesterday and my reasons behind it. I don’t know your views on what gets handed out, but I’d go as far as including ALL medals earned (including medals earned from individual attack stars) to be bucketed and be distributable by leaders.

It needs to be a reward system that gets clan members, especially all those left out of the lineup, to cheer for each other’s attacks. Bucketing all stars for distribution (including individual attacks) helps do this.

Someone was arguing about the “logic” from SC perspective, I’d make it a very simple UI. There should be a tab with a one single big number, “medals earned”, and this shows the number of medals each member would earn when distributed equally.

This way every clan member can cheer on the clan attacks and watch as this single number grow knowing their individual rewards are going up too (this applies even if they’re not on the lineup and only a cheerleader)

Some things I’d add/keep:

- the default equal spread of the medals can be adjusted at the end by leaders. There’ll be a lower limit and upper limit to the adjustment (maybe 10% lower and 200% upper of the default spread). This is to let those who don’t want medals, particularly max th12 to share their medals to others in the clan.

- perhaps set aside 25% of the total medal bucket for a “bonus” section. This bonus section will have a list of topics such as: “season best attack”, “season best defense”, “season best attacker”, “clan community member award”, “clan most improved award”, “member encouragement award”. These topics will have medals assigned against it, where leader/co/elders all get 24hrs to put in their vote on who in the clan deserves to get a bit of extra bonus medals. This gives some power to leaders, and it gives a way for people to recognize other people’s efforts, generally to bring the clan together with interaction. Sure at times someone will feel miffed they weren’t voted best community member that season etc...but to be clear this is only small reward, it’s more a gesture is how I’d see it.

- make larger clans earn more medals per star and/or wins. This is because as per my suggestion above, I think by default those who aren’t in the attacking lineup should also get medals (so they’re also brought in on the ride). Moreover they should earn the same amount by default so there’s togetherness to cheer the clan attackers on. For this to work it’d need more medals for larger clan rosters so they have a larger bucket to spread across the higher number of people compared to smaller clans... resulting in the same number of medals per individual by default.


On this final point...Yes there’s a way to rig the system. Basically add in a bunch of ghost members to help clan earn more medals, but at the end re-distribute them back to the main members. And yeh I don’t think we’re virtuous enough not to game that system haha. I would hope the upper limit would be enough to fix this issue.

Also Yes this does mean I’m saying ppl who don’t even log in get medals, just like in the clan games. But I do think this is essential to encourage people to play. The alternative that we have right now causes two pretty big problems.

One is that people who aren’t in lineups are feeling really left out as they don’t even get medals. I can see over time members will split clans and form new ones just so they can get in lineups. Is SC really trying to get us to break up clans so we have a bunch of 15-20 member clans? (Maybe, who knows. Personally I see it as a problem).

Second is over time I think we will get clans who sit out their top members just to give the lower THs a go to earn some medals (again because the current system is skewed to only rewarding those who participate). Perhaps this is what SC wants, again who knows. But personally I don’t like it. This CWL is a nice way to really get clans to field their best members and see where they stand in strength against the world’s clans. It was also advertised that way. The reward system directly goes against this idea, as there’s no incentive for lower un-rostered players to cheer, in fact it pushes for them to also want to join in to play thereby weakening the clan. (Personally in our clan we left out 7 th12s and rotates in and out the lower th11s and 10s. Yeh we got bashed, but at least we can give them medals.)

Anyway, hope SC looks back at what they’re targeting to achieve with CWL, and create a reward system that encourages member behavior towards it. Currently I think it does not achieve that, or at least SC could help by explaining how/why it does what they want.

Very rarely would I say no to free stuff, especially in a game. But this one I’d rather we don’t have any bonuses at all if We can’t give to all deserving members.

If we have 15 members all tried their very best and didn’t miss a single attack, how do I suppose to pick who to leave out in a logical and sensible way? The top performing ones? That wouldn’t work cuz different town halls have different difficulties and sometimes strategically we ask members to attack outside their range.

I don’t see this as a leadership skill test or whatever but rather the definition of dictatorship.

I give it to 6 new town hall 12.... next season we come stronger

I have 10 batches of 80 medals to hand out but its only allowing me to give 1 per player. I was going to give 2 batches to 5 people to get another hammer of heroes. Reading these forums before, It was stated that you could give as many bonuses to a single player as you had. Is this is a bug or what?
