every league has multiple teams of 8 clans matched against each other. in every team one clan will be the clan with the most stars. this clan will move up. that means multiple clans in every league will move up.
what happens if there is a draw in one team of 8 players? not answered yet. maybe percentage rules.
what if percentage are the same too? 💥💣

I have read every post and I think this war league wont be very fair.

So lets say our clan starts with:

5 Town Hall 12
5 Town Hall 11
4 Town Hall 10
1 Town Hall 9

We get matched against seven similar clans,where the war weighting is considered. We manage to defeat them all,becoming number 1 in this group,and moving higher in the War League.

You'll be matched against everyone in the higher league. If you started in league 8 (counting 1 as the top) and win you'll play in league 7 next time. As will people who started in league 7 and didn't go up or down, and people who started in league 6 and got relegated.

It means you will get matched with clans in the next higher tier that you moved into. Some of those clans will be clans that also won their league and moved up. Some will be clans that only did ok in the last war season and stayed in that tier. Some will be from clans another tier higher that didn’t do well and dropped down. If your clan is very highly skilled, yes, you will push up high enough that you will often face clans with stronger bases than you but less skill. If your clan has little skill, you will end up falling down into tiers with weaker bases but more skill than you.

It is possible that the next league you moved up to is full of TH12s but unlikely. Either the first time through when matched up by weight, the other clan didn’t bring any TH12s so they could start lower (makes no sense as it appears the higher leagues get better rewards so sandbagging to start is kinda stupid) or their TH12s are all bad and that’s how then ended up falling down to the league you moved into.

After that first week season, it’s only about how you did last time and nothing about weight. You will progress based on how much better you attack and how quick you all get upgrades done. You might fal back if everyone starts getting better, faster. I think this will be a blast and can’t wait! Good luck to you and your clan.

So eventually,after few war leagues all clans will be placed where they belong,town hall 12 will rule #1 and we will still get matched against clans similar to our level,since we won't be able to reach the top?

Yes, but “similar to our level” can mean different things. They might be similar to you both in terms of the strength of their bases and their skill. However, they might have stronger bases, but less skill or they might have weaker bases, but more skill. Also, this only happens one week per month. By season #6 how much will your clan have progressed in 6 months? Will you have some higher halls by then? More defense or better offense? More skill? You can bet other clans in your tier will have all of that. Active clans that upgrade their accounts are going to find it easier to move up to higher tiers.

It obviously (to me at least) has to be fixed size wars. Otherwise it would be pretty well impossible to rank all clans in one set of tiers and the league idea becomes somewhat meaningless.

And if you are going to have fixed sizes, then it makes sense to use the current most common war size. Which is what they have done.



If your clan is serious about trying to get promoted every season, yes you might need to do this, although even then it will be the 15 strongest available.

But if you are a little less serious, or if after several wars it is obvious you are not going to be in the promotion or relegation spots, you might well bring in some of your weaker members just to get them a bigger share of the medals.



It is only one week a month, and most have already got used to the idea of frequently taking a week out to upgrade heroes - which they could of course do during CWL week.

But here I agree, they could have allowed members not on the roster to have a separate "normal" clan war at the same time. Although given the way rewards will be distributed, most clans are likely to put everybody in the roster after the first CWL anyhow.



Only divisive if you let it be. Good clans (in the sense of well knit, well run, not necessarily strong) won't find it so.

But yes, there are a lot of clans where it could be divisive - probably a lot of the same clans that want to restrict Clan Games rewards.

I won’t say there are better solutions that are easy to implement. But there are better solutions, like making a TH level based 1vs1. And player based tiers, not clans.
A ladder system based in each TH level starting at th7/th8 could be another solution.
The skill of the members would be rewarded no matter the TH level.

There is no need for skill to make a dip attack and making a league where this is still possible, doesn’t make any sense, to me. And a league where the only way to get to the top tiers is having the stronger roster, or having only a few members of the clan being actively involved, neither.
The CWL is not, like advertised, based on pure skill.
Since, only a few of the TH12 are maxed, the stronger rosters will be at the top no matter the skill.

I don’t know if this could be done, but why don’t make pools by TH level.
At the beggining of the season, each clan chooses at least 15 members to be in the clan’s roster for the that season, but up to 50 members could be in the roster. And all of those members would have 7 attacks to make in a 1vs1 fight against another base of the same TH level, no matter the clan.
Each result would be rewarded depending on the number of stars and the dificulty level:
A 3 stars for a Th9vsTh9 could grant 3 points to that player.
A 3 stars for a Th10vsTh10 could grant 4 points to the player.
A 2 stars for a Th10vsTh10 could grant 3 points to the player.
...
(The points here are just to make the idea more clear)

At the end of the season, the result of the 15 best players in the clan would make the clan’s performance.
All the players would be involved in the CWL.

The war map could work the same for it’s own clan, and on the other side we could see something like:
Th12 reaper, clan WX
Th12 wolf, clan hyu
Th11 side, clan trese
...

Not an easy task, but more fair and a more pure skill based approach. IMO

I get that Supercell wants to make players move up in TH levels, but that would still be the case if a TH12 2 stars would give more points to the clan than a TH9 3 stars...
