Recycled ads in the DD

Hi - has anyone else seen and does anyone have an explanation for recycled ads in the DD? They always occur during farm visitor events and are mostly ads for premium items - bems, sems. I recognise the same farm name and ads in the DD that I saw earlier in the day and they occur regularly enough that I started wondering if indeed these were the same ads, or if owners were overwriting the original ad and re-advertising. I looked closer at the farms each time their ads appeared and everytime they have accumulated 100’s of extra followers and their boats are still waiting for crates to be filled (with the same amount of time remaining as the last time I looked).

I totally think this is odd so thought i’d ask if anyone else has seen the same recycled ads. If they are recycled I think I might feel a bit duped into believing I ever had a chance to get those planks :P

I can't tell I've seen recycled ad since I gave up hunting bem or any other goods in the DD. I only open DD once or twice a day, more if I do help task. But once I've seen my own ad in the DD :smirk: felt weird though if you clicked your own ad it took you back to your shop.

I have not seen or noticed what you are experiencing. If you suspect anything suspicious, please contact in game support with your concerns with screenshots if possible.

Thanks. Might be I only notice cos I play for hours at a time. Was hoping there were others who had experienced this phenomenon

thanks May :) I haven’t seen myself in the DD yet but I’ve seen game centre friends, in game friends, followers and even people I used to follow. It makes me smile when I see people I “know” in the dirt. Don’t give up on hunting, the goods are there you just need to look through the wheat, corn and bouquets

Sometimes we don’t notice odd happenings until it is brought to our attention... it is a good thing :p

thanks WussyPuss. I have sent screenshots through to support to check my brain, although someone in family has just done that but not sure it counts. Have now a new game with friends - spot the recurring ads next visitor event (it’s not a drinking game unfortunately) :)

I have seen this as well during visitor events - it is more than just BEMs and SEMs, but they are obviously the most noticeable because who doesn't want a shot at grabbing some BEMs and SEMs. I also see double advertisements, the same advertisement in the same DD from the same player.

My theory is that basically the game runs out of active advertisements since almost all items sell much faster during farm visitor events; so, it ends up recycling or doubling ads to make a paper appear full.

After a little thought, sleep and recollection, what you are seeing is most likely from people who never collect coins so their shop always looks like it sells premium items.

this is a trap to garner followers and it is nothing suspicious. I merely forgot that people do that.

hi Spartan - i arrive at the same theory as you, that the game runs out of active advertisements. Makes sense considering most people are selling to visitors instead of the DD - you definitely explained it better than I could! Hope you don’t mind but I might offer your theory to support when I hear back from them :) and you’re right it is more than bems/sems, I also saw a recurring ad for 5 marmalade

I gave up because every single time I see something rare, other people always get it first :facepalm: I think it's because my internet connection is not fast enough to beat them XD

I noticed some people did that back in 2015 or 2016 :smirk: They gained many followers doing that. Even tried it myself and gained some new followers, but too many followers is bad for me, they're always lurking in my shop and raid everything the second I put rare goods.
