A comparison between the old and the new loot system: Influence on TH 7 - TH10

Even empty gold and elixir storages don't help, th8s get creamed for DE too. Im pouring gold into walls now so my last three defenses against huge th9 armies netted the attackers less than 100k in gold each. My DE was even zapped for the first time. I'm not even going to try to upgrade my DE troops before th9. If I can even earn the 3mil it will take to upgrade.

Let's not forget that a th8 player who has maxxed troops cant even 3 star anoter decent th8 player with 3 spells & hoping he's got a terrible design. The defense vs offense is terribly unbalanced but it was always ok since there was a lot of loot. I made it to nearly maxxed th8 in 3/4 months on the old system now it'll probably take that long to save up for lvl 6 troops LOL

im also a MAXED TH8, best raider/looter in my clan and im struggling my ♥♥♥ off the last few days... didnt know about the update till last night... i have been so confused thinking the game dynamics have changed because there are more active holiday players... anyway, i spend 180k yesterday looking for a decent battle... pre update i was looting and average of 250k per battle, now its more like 100k

the game is broken!! FIX IT!!

forgive me for being obtuse but i think my powers of analysis has diminished..
in a nutshell - what are the pros and cons of the new looting system and how is it different from the old (?) system that we have.

Been farming at th9 for 170-200k avg per attack gold wise and after update i've been only seeing under 150k. Maybe like every 50 next i'll see a th10 with lvl 4 crossbows and inferno towers and that's only time i see over 200k...

:mad: guess i'll move up trophies and see if anything is better but everyone in my clan is saying same thing loot was supposed to be MORE but now it seems like it's way way harder to find loot *we'll see in a few days as some updates take a few days to kick in because people spent on things*

I don't think the loot is going to get better, 4 days since update is more than enough time to build up the percentage difference between old and new loot caps, new loot system is more likely to reduce loot than increase it.

I am a lvl9 town hall and after the update I had 6 mil in elixir storage. Over the night I lost close to 1 mil because it looked so good to anyone with a th10. Got attacked 4 times and the last one finally gave me a shield after my resources were raped.

The only reason to stay at TH9 now is to go after TH8. They have a better percentage of resources that can be stolen and lets face it, to get an extra 50k from a loaded TH10 isn't going to happen. TH8 has no xbows and wasn't given a lvl3 inferno tower that can eliminate troops in seconds. The whole premise that you can steal a higher cap from TH10 is a joke. This update makes you prey on the weak.

Therefore the only way the weak can survive is leave nothing in storage. Steal for an upgrade, put any excess on walls and leave nothing.

This is the smart way to play and then maybe the update won't look so good to TH10. Supercell wants us all to leave millions in storage and then everyone will like the stealing. Lets face it, that makes no sense to anyone playing the game. So spend everything you got!

The only problem with this is that TH10 will find the game unplayable, but who cares.

last night i spent almost 100k gold searching a good loot base to attack and i got 160k gold from 3 starred it, when i logged off i got raided and lost 'bout 200k gold and 300k elixir to TH10 player. (my TH is 9)
this system is totally for players who can dedicate to the game a lot, and tortures players who cant play all the time like me.
even while im typing this reply, the notification just told me my village got raided :P naahh

I think it was a mistake to remove loot bonus for attacking higher town halls. Yes, the caps were raised but to get to cap it requires nearly full storages, which people rarely have. This changed the direction of raiding towards praying on the weak, raiding THs below the level of your own. There's no real incentive to attack higher THs as there's a much lower chance of getting into the base. As a TH8, I'm now raiding mostly those poor TH7s and with my casual gaming, I have 2 out of 4 workers free as I can't save quickly enough for my next cheapest upgrade (2.2 mil gold).

As I don't have time to play for hours at a time, the only solution for me now is to play less to ride out the shield. But if a game requires you to play less to enjoy it, what's the reason to play at all? I might as well focus on upgrading my village in Samurai Siege.

ok I've been patient but the loot is absolutely terrible (putting it mildly) since update, supercell you better fix this soon or there'll be a mass exodus.

I don't know what the answer is or what has been done to make such a dramatic impact to the loot, to be honest I don't care and I'm not interested in reading about formulas or looking at graphs (not to say op's data and effort is not appreciated), COC is a game for phones and as such it should be there for enjoyment whenever you have 5 free minutes, fix this supercell quickly
