"Running official forums are a very resource intensive endeavor. Not only does it require Community Managers, Mods, and other specialist members of the community to help keep it running smoothly, you also have to consider the operational resources such as servers, web programmers, artists to create the content, bandwidth, database, etc. "
The above statement is very informative, as it shows what can affect other game teams within Supercell in different ways, and how a decision in one team may not necessarily affect the others (our games run very differently, and have entirely different communities with different needs).
I personally feel that the Boom Beach forums are an invaluable resource for the BB team and, alongside reddit, one of the first places to turn to for player feedback. Especially after an update.
So for the foreseeable future there are no plans for the Boom Beach forums to close, and I will enjoy getting to know you all a bit better in the coming months. If you have any more questions please feel free to hit me up in this thread or anywhere else.
TL;DR The Boom Beach forums aren't closing any time soon.
Cheers,
Drew
