Siege machine in low wars

I think in order to use a siege machine in war you should have to have a town hall 12 in that war.
My clan has 2 town hall 10s and a bunch of 9’s. We are all family or work together and we enjoy doing 5v5 clan wars.
However we end up facing clans in the match up who have a 12 in their clan so they get siege machines. That tilts the balance out of control. In our last war they rolled over us only because of the siege machine. It’s pretty unfair. You already can’t donate defense troops if you’re not in war why not sieges?
I get whenever I post this people tell me get a 12 in our clan but like I said we are friends and family clan and don’t want to have to recruit people just to have this thing.
So in conclusion I’m just hoping you guys can change it so you can’t use siege machines in war if you don’t have someone in the war who can build them.

simple solution → get a th 12 with siegeworkshop in your clan.

If you read my post I wrote that is the only response I get. If you read the rest you see we’re a friends and family clan so we don’t want to have to recruit a 12.
We have town hall 10’s in our clan so we can get paired against 10’s who can use it if they have one. I just don’t think it’s fair and it’s killing how fun these wars are for us.

So you want the game to change to suit you cause you refuse to change with the new Meta of the game.

Also you've always been able to get troops for attacking in war from anyone why would a siege machine be different?it's attacking not defending

We don’t refuse to change we are constantly building ourselves up. As a clan we don’t typically gem to get ahead we just war while we build. Eventually we will get to 12 but I don’t see how it is ‘meta’ to just put down this machine and basically get a free 3 Star every time.
As an early 10 when I 3 another 10 I get a sense of accomplishment where as these guys just put a machine down funnel some trash behind and GG.

all you do is complaining about the problem that you have no one with th 12 in clan to get siege machines for war. upgrade your th to lv 12 or get someone with th 12 in your clan to get siegemachines. there is no need to change the system to make siegemachines useable even if you havent it in the clan or to bann them from war.

I didn’t say ban them from war and once again we are not recruiting someone to sit out in wars and just donate us a machine and I’m not gemming to 12.
If you have a th12 in a war you should be able to use them it makes sense that’s what they are designed for and if in that war there are lower 10’s it makes sense that they get it so they have a chance against the higher halls.
Im saying that if in my war it’s 2 10’s and 3 9’s we shouldn’t get access to machines because it is stricktly unbalancing it makes these wars skillless and less fun.

I'll write the same thing I write in response to most of these threads I see...

Recruiting a TH12 is NOT a solution. Any active TH12 that is willing to donate siege machines is already in a clan. Or no TH12 wants to join a "wimpy" clan with no other TH12s. Sure there may be some exceptions out there, but the chances of finding one of them (that speaks your language) are virtually NIL.

Rushing to TH12 is a HORRIBLE solution. I rushed my TH10 to TH12 so I could donate siege machines and it absolutely sucks. My TH10 level defenses can't hold off TH12 offense so I get flattened every 12-16 hours. My TH10 level offenses can't make a dent on TH12s, and attacking TH10s hits me with a 50% loot penalty. I would never recommend to anyone to rush to TH12.

Supercell created this problem.

why not do it the same for every troop which isnt available for the maximum th level in your clanwar team? its the same strange "problem" as you have with siege machines.

This I don't see people claiming th9s with no th10s in war shouldn't get bowlers. Yet max bowlers at th9 and below are pretty powerful as well

This is exactly it! It’s not about not changing as some of you insist. We are progressing but as you all know it takes time so I’ll be 10 for a while then 11 for a while.
Also yes siege machines shouldn’t be allowed in war that a 12 is not participating in. I didn’t say all out ban. If you have a 12 in the war by all means everyone have a machine.
You’re only picking out things that suit you. The difference from a max level wizard vs a siege machine is huge. I have no problem with troop levels upgrading but like I said if you have a 12 in clan that’s not in war he can’t fill your defensive clan castles.

Unfortunately for you, there really isn’t anything you can do to solve the issue other than to recruit a th12 or upgrade your bases to th12. To restrict which troops the other clan can use just because no one in your clan has them is unfair to the person that has those troops. If that’s the case than why should I try an upgrade my base at all? It’s way easier to three star at lower town halls.

It’s not unfair to that person because that person isn’t in the war. And it’s not a troop restriction it is a siege machine restriction. I’m proposing they make it that if you don’t have a TH12 in the current war you can’t use a siege machine in the war.

You clearly don’t read what I write. I have said from the start that if there is a not a 12 in the war you shouldn’t be able to use a siege machine in the war. It doesn’t matter how many 12’s are in either clan. If they are not in the active war they should be disallowed.
If you as a 10 want to take a siege machine into the clouds and decimate someone no one is stopping you. I’m coming at it from a war balance issue as it’s been since my original post.
Even if both sides had a 12 in the clan if they aren’t in the war I’d still want siege machine to not be used.

As to my point no one has given me a reason why they should be allowed to that extent either. All I get is ‘go to 12’ and ‘recruit a 12’.
We are all leveling up but it takes time and we want to war as we go. When we get matched up against crazy bases that are better than us we don’t complain we try and they don’t always 3 Star is either but when someone can just drop a level 3 wall wrecker and some random troops behind and walk thru a 10 or 9 it’s insane.

The problem with OP's entire idea is it starts a slippery slope. Should wars without a TH11 or 10 have bowlers, miners, and clone spells banned? How about having witch, lavahound, baby dragon, freeze, jump, and haste spells banned from wars without a TH9? This all comes down to your unwillingness to make your clan more inclusive.

Bowlers with healers are strong but you still get that, then an additional machine is what I’m getting at.
It’s not the same thing.
As it is I can change my base to directly deal with a machine but it still won’t matter it’s closly in power level to that of say 4 earthquakes and a heal the way it works out. Too powerful at lower levels.

It’s not even that big of a deal. You don’t have to ban all that other stuff I was a town hall 9 getting bowlered and I could defend it in war. Sure it sucked but it was what it was.

every time something new is introduced to the game there will have arguments on how can be controlled, banned, nerfed... yada yada...

The same thing can be said to all troops. I am a TH9 but I use bowlers taken from a Th12. Should'nt that be banned too if we war Th9 vs Th9 only. There is hardly any point of donations if you cannot use them in wars, Be it a machine or a troop.

You should understand by reading to the many posts above that you have to adapt according to the updates. But if you wish to be that "Friendly clan" face the consequences.

Bowlers aren’t as big of a deal as a machine. I was a 9 I used to get attacked by bowlers so what I could defend them.
The siege machine isn’t easily defended at even max level let alone th 10.

In game ticket gives that same generic cookie cutter response to anyone that comes to them with an idea. I've seen plenty of people come to forums saying that support told them they had a great idea and should post it here, but support doesn't have a clue what a great idea is because those same people come here posting ruled out ideas because support was just trying to point them in the right direction.

Siege machine does not guarantee a 3 star always. If that was the case, every th10 would be 3 starred.

Rather than whining on the "Trolly forums" Why don't you try to improve your base design or use a Siege machine yourself? I'll share an experience with you.

I used to be in a "friendly clan" It was fun but not while I was in wars. If you wanna be in a war and compete with other clans, you need to be the best or try your best. There is no middle here. It's like a race. The more support you get, the more you win.

It is a bitter truth, but SC won't change the game system just because you cannot adapt to it.

Our friendly clan does well. Only 5v5 wars but we manage to 14-15 most wars. And I get supercell prolly loves this new way. People paying tons of money to boost to 12 so they can use it but we’re old fashioned. We like to work for our upgrades not pay for the game and enjoy.
I get not every one will like the idea but it definitely makes town hall 10 and lower wars less fun. Even if you use it it’s less fun I like analyzing enemy bases hand picking units that will do well and when I execute the attack we’ll i feel proud.
Just watching a guy throw down a wall wrecker then spamming bowlers and hogs wildly behind was annoying.
However looks like the overall community doesn’t mind so oh well

I'm a TH12 and haven't spent a dime on the game and enjoy it at fullest.

Just because you refuse to change doesn't means the game have to be changed!

I believe the inclusion of SM has made Th10 more alive. First, Th10 seemed to be pretty boring compared to Th9, but now it isn't.

The point of the whole game for SC is to gain money and keep their customers happy. I don't see the point of saying "People paying tons of money" while it is necessary for the survival of a 6 year old game. As I said before, Adapt or face slap.

If you’re a 12 you have no relevant opinion on the state of lower level wars. And if you’ve read you’ll see we are changing but it takes time. If as you claim have never spent money on this game you know it takes a long time to level up so I’m trying to make the game fun for everyone leveling up.

Everyone? No one in my clan would like to ban SM for Th10. I don't see any problem with it in wars. If you seem to lose against it everytime, you might need to put a pic of your base here. The problem is in the base, not the machine.

But you don't need to participate in wars to level up. I thought your whole intent for banning siege machines was to supposedly make wars more fair, but now you're saying you're just trying to make the game more fun for everyone leveling up? I'm still leveling up and I'm really having fun with siege machines both in and out of war. I'm a TH10 by the way.

now my question is, how a TH9 feel about infernos? or do you think a max TH9 is happy to getting match with a low TH10 with infernos... Should the infernos not be allowed in war?

Yeah unfortunately everyone loves getting everything handed to them so getting a machine they can use to get easy wins makes people happy. People who couldn’t 3 Star 10’s as 10’s are loving this new meta where as we who usually (not always but most times) can 3 Star 10’s are disappointed.

Fair Play= Playing without cheats or using loopholes from the system as your advantage, or exploiting glitches for your own good. Using Siege Machines in wars is NOT against fair play. You seem to be so dogmatic that you want the whole system to change just because your a chilled person who doesn't want to face challenges or improve. You just want a friendly clan for fun. But fun comes with a price. Whatever your opinion is, it doesn't change the fact that you resist to change.

I think it's time to end this debate. So, I'll ask you to use a Siege machine in war and 3 star a TH10 and post a replay here. Let's see if you can. It isn't as easy as it seems.

I don't wanna shunt your opinion, but what you're thinking is wrong. Siege machine is an addition to TH10 attacks, not a cheat code. The problem here is you do not want to come out from your shelter of "Friendly clan" The only way to improve is to meet with people with skills better than you. Being in a "Friendly Clan" will slow your progress more than increase it. If you wanna be in a competition, you need to run. Skipping won't help.

I am a Th9. But I'm pretty good at analysing how much skills is required to attack a base, be it a Th10 or a Th12. And, I'll assure you, I have some Th10-Th12 Clanmates who are pretty good in wars. I doubt any of your Th10 "Friendly Clan" members could 1 star a maxed Th12. As I said before, post your base or war replays.

As I’ve said I don’t disagree with change it’s just insane that we are expected to keep a 12 in our clan. Not to play in our wars but to sit out and donate to our wars. How is that fun / fair for the 12? It’s not. And I improve almost every war I learn from when I fail and from what I see in replays. I don’t feel my opinion is superior I came here to express my opinion and see who shared (clearly no one but worth a shot) I was the beset upon by people who instead of supplying actual facets of why it’s fun or engaging nearly say boost to 12 or invite a 12. I don’t mind revealing my base or replays but honestly I don’t have the time or knowledge to do so here.
I’m sure I could rearrange my base to better defend a siege but I’m sure it would in turn make it weaker against another type of attack and I mess with it every so often anyway.

You need to have the best equipment to win the war. This goes to Clan Wars as well. Recruiting higher members will really improve yourself as well as your chances in wars. Can't find any negatives here.

And, Why would the TH12 be made to sit out of war? That doesn't make sense at all.

Edit: You also need to change the base layout to what you feel is the best. None of them are actually top-notch. Each has it's own weaknesses. Your base might be weak to SM. But you need to try to balance it out as much as you can. This is a part of war as well. Just recently, my base held on against 6 war attacks before giving in. This made us win. Remember, Base designs matter a lot in wars too.

That’s what I’m saying! We faced a clan 2 10’s 3 9’s same as us and they use siege machines because they have a rushed 12 in their clan.
If I was a 12 I would want to face other 12’s in war not join with 10’s and 9’s. Just how now I don’t want to face 9’s and 11’s I want to face 10’s to give me a fight

That's a problem of matchmaking. SC is trying to sort it out. It's much better than before though. Nothing wrong with SM.

Creating a second account for the purpose of rushing it to th12 is a GREAT solution. Keep the trophies low to also help easily max out clan games points on either the main base or builder hall. Don’t put this account in war. Just keep it for donating SMs. Your advice seems to be related to an account you want to use for war or something else. That is NOT what people are referring to when they talk about rushing an account to th12. They are referring to making an account just for donating SMs and to get some easy clan games points.

It has nothing to do with matchmaking. Accounts in the clan that aren’t in the war don’t impact the match. That is OPs complaint. It is an old complaint that goes back a long time, but in the past it was usually related to donating max troops to the attacking war cc’s by the opponent even though there were no accounts with max troops in the war.

As for OPs issue, the best solution is to create a second account, rush it to th12 and use it to donate SMs. OP can also choose not to go through that effort and time (it is minimal effort and not much time), but be at a disadvantage to clans that have a th12 or make one.

The advantage of having a siege machine is much greater than a handful of troops at a higher level. And I don’t see the OP suggesting that higher level troops are discounted from war, just siege machines.

You can choose to compare it to what you like, the bottom line is that it’s not something the OP suggested.

Forums is supposed to be a place to debate about certain stuff, post your opinions etc. Didn't see any post which sounded unnecessary or rude to him. He wants a certain troop to be not usable and some don't agree with it.

Your "Irrelevant Analogies" seems to be a target to my comment. So, just as a response I'll say you need to read the whole thread before posting. Most of the analogies seemed to make sense and make him understand that he was on the wrong side. Troops are supposed to be donated for wars, the same goes for SM. Obviously, if someone feels the OP,s opinions are wrong, they will contradict him with certain facts.

P.S- The comparison made to bowlers was relevant too as it proved that donating max troops to wars has been an ongoing thing without any issues.

Siege machines are siege machines. They’re not max troops, they’re not max heroes, they’re not max spells. They’re siege machines. Although I’ve only got a level 1 workshop, I’m pretty sure level 2 doesn’t unlock bowlers.

I read through the entire thread... To put it simply, and I mean no offence, the level of ignorance in the OP's idea is through the roof.

As the quote above stated, that is LITERALLY what op's idea is. Using the hog example, if no one in your clan can donate max hogs, max hogs are banned from the war. It's not unfair. One clan has more resources than the other, and you have to DEAL WITH IT. Either recruit, upgrade TH, or deal with the consequences that the old-fashioned mindset brings.

If this was implemented, (and this will eventually happen - you will get to th12) you would be instantly back on the forums complaining that you or your clanmate can't donate SMs, because the other clan has no th 12.

This will fix a few problems. Siege engines in low level wars that don’t even contain TH12s. Overpowered top troops, like max valkyries and max babies in all low TH wars.

It means a moderate change. War attack troops will be donated in the war map, and only usable in war attacks. Only war participants can donate on the war map, just as with CC defence troops on preparation day.

It would be a pain for people who like to do little small wars with mini accounts, but people who do this are shutting out genuine new players in beginning clans. I see the change as good for fresh players.

Include a TH12 in a small war sure, by all means. The other side will know upfront that they can expect to face siege engines.

The change suggested involved war CC attack troops being donated on the war map. These will be easier to donate well before you actually want to attack, unlike the current situation where you can’t do multiplayer attacks with your CC if you are holding CC troops for war.

People are now saying, here in the forums, rush an account to TH12, don’t use it in wars, just use it to donate siege engines.

This is obviously a hole in game mechanics. Please fix it ASAP, before every clan has one of these dummy rushed accounts for donations and will be so upset when it is fixed later.

How is it a hole in the game mechanics? It is beneficial to have a th12 in your clan to donate siege machines and max troops. It has always been beneficial to have a higher account to donate good troops. This just happens to be a very good troop. There are lots of reasons to have different types of accounts that benefit the clan. The second account I ever created was back when th9 was newly released and my clan loved having a dragon in their cc. So, I rushed an account to get dragons and used it to donate to the clan. I currently have an account in my clan that is very low on builder base trophies. It is used to quickly max out clan games points. It is a strategy game and that involves your clan roster as well.

No offence but Coc is not for your family n friends alone..this feature was added to make the gameplay easy...n if u wanna play easy get th12 in clan...expand ua clan OP

It is a hole in game mechanics to allow for easy leveling up of new accounts. This is the reason for not allowing resource donations from player to player. It is a hole because cheap strong accounts destabilize the game, they cause it to be unfair to players playing within the original intention. This rushing of a spare account to TH12 to donate the TH12-special troop is the same. It is unfair to lower level players who don't have the same ease of rushing a spare account to TH12. It is a "hole", as in a broken thing, as opposed to a "feature", because it is bad for the game by making it harder for new players.

Rushing an account to be the dragon donor was not so bad, because only high level accounts could accept dragons. An all TH4-TH5 clan could happily war another, with everyone content that no one would have a surprise dragon.

Valkyries were the first real problem. TH3 can have a valkyrie in their CC, and in a genuine TH3-5 war, real beginners are cruelly confounded by the high level valkryie. It is a bit bad with the valkyrie comes from a high level player in the war party, but at least the defending valkryie can only come from a genuine valkyrie donor in the war line-up.

Valkyries in attack CCs of TH3-5? Not really a problem, because a single valkryie has big limitations.

Baby dragons were worse, because low level accounts could bring an attack baby that come from elsewhere, not from the line-up. However, it wasn't terrible, because a single baby can only do so much.

Siege engines are worse because:

1. A single siege engine makes a big difference;
2. Siege engines are frustration many serious players, all the TH10-11 clans lacking a TH12 donor.

I too have mini accounts, and access to kids accounts, that are useful for easy completion of clan game quests, destroy three research buildings, destroy three clock towers, etc. I too am rushing a TH11 account to TH12, now that I see our clan needs one. I don't care about the clan games, they are a silly-fun distraction that gives nice rewards. I do care about wars, and about how any TH11max clan thinking to "play fair" is being stuffed by the opposition being able to freely import seige engines to get a decided winning advantage.

I assume this was a tongue-in-cheek response. If you want to keep you clan as a honest straightforward clan, you have to accept that the new developments have ruined it for you.

The answer is: Only war participants can donate attack war CC troops, which can be done on the war map.

For clans that have already rushed their TH12, they just have to include that account in the war line-up.

Ok, I’ve done it. My mature TH11 is now TH12 donating wall wreckers. War weight is above the near-max TH11s, so it will be left out of war. The max wall wrecker in TH10 CCs now gives them a killer advantage over all other TH10s.

I reckon its it’s unfair to TH10 clans, but ok, SuperCell and most here think it is fair that all serious clans have access to a TH12 account.

I though seige engines were expensive, but I see I get 20 or 30 wall wreckers for the cost of one wall piece upgrade. Pretty cheap.

Rushing an account to TH12 is definitely good for the clan.

I agree with OP. Unless a TH 12 is in the war, SM should not be allowed. Creates total imbalance.

I agree with you, we have now got one of our strong TH9 gonna rush to 12, just to help get the siege machine. The only future problem is gonna be 100% for them and 100 % for us, I can only see there being draws in the future.

Already is happening. Clan I'm paired up with now has 35 100% out of last 50 wars. 5 of those were 100% draws. Will only get more common when everyone has feeder TH 12 that doesn't participate in war.

50 wars takes us back further than th12 and siege machine release though so it isn’t purely because of siege machines.

I strongly agree. This results to a total disadvantage if your clan doesn't have a donator of SMs. This is the case currently of my small growing clan. Players in CWs should not be able to use SMs if there are no TH12s in their war lineup. Hopefully Supercell will consider this and take action on it on their next update.

Why you can donate defensive troops only if you are in the war but offensive donations can come from anyone in the clan, beats me. We have a war Battle Day tomorrow, 10 v 10, we have 2 TH10s as do they but they have access to SM from someone else in their clan TH12. Let’s see, I will predict we will lose 30 to 28

Their level 3 SM smashed us. No point playing. I can’t see how Supercell would be happy for long term players/customers giving up on them

I agree with the poster. We don’t have a th12 in our clan but in over half of our recent wars we have faced a clan who does. Game over. The first attack they do with one of those things, we might as well forfeit. It is dispiriting. I have yet to find a th12 in global who is just dying to join our clan of th8, 9, and 10. I don’t have an extra account to rush to th12. And is that really the solution supercell wants? Well maybe it is, if you have to buy gems to get there. This may end wars for us.

Why hasn’t anyone in your clan started an extra account and rushed it to th12? It doesn’t have to be in war, it simply will donate SMs for war and could also be used to help clan games if wanted, but that isn’t needed.

Tell me about these conditions.
Someone start war without th12 ids and get a th12 id at the time of war ? What you suggest in that case ??

I rushed a TH9.5 to TH12. I couldn't imagine rushing a TH1 to TH12. Not a good solution (although, it's technically still a "solution"...)

We do TH8-TH10 wars. If our opponent has SMs, we usually tie at 30. If they don't, we usually win. The wall wrecker's tanking and punch to center make it too easy.

I would start with a brand new or a bad account, not a 9.5, although starting from a th10 would make it happen very fast and easy. Anyway, why isn’t it a good solution? It is much better than the players still complaining this long after SMs were released that they can’t win wars, are going to quit, etc. They could continue to wait around with the hopes that SC changes the rules or they could get started on that rushed th12. With all the extra stuff from events and clan games, it wouldn’t take too much time or effort to raid with cheap armies low in trophies and rush everything to th12 level 1 every unit (other than a few farming troops). Clans with winning war records put much more effort into war than the effort it takes to rush one account to th12 for donations. Clans that are so casual about war that they aren’t willing to make one th12 account aren’t going to win as many wars as they otherwise would. Their choice.

I just see it as a ton of work thrust upon clans to fix a problem that Supercell created.

Even if you build only the minimum stuff and research only the minimum troops, it would still take months. These clans probably aren't about to invest real $$ for gems & additional builders on this account. And it would require some long non-stop raiding sessions (spend it before it's stolen). Your wimpy defenses will get stomped every 16 hours.

I can almost equate it to engineering/defenseless bases. SC's MM algorithm created the problem, people complained, then some % of players/clans quit wars while others bit the bullet to make engineered bases of their own. Here we are again: either quit wars or build new bases just to not be at a disadvantage. OR SC could fix it ... somehow...

Does that mean you would agree with not allowing any edrags for anyone in war that doesnt have someone who can build them being in the war as well? What about all the other troops that you can only unlock at certain levels?
This is not a new situation, it has existed from TH1 upwards since wars began, why is this different?

A sole e-drag in attack is really not that fantastic, in my experience.

The siege engine, on the other hand, makes it so easy for any TH10 to three star another TH10.

Maybe we will discover anti siege engine TH10 base designs? Careful placement of storages, they slow down the siege engine? TH far from the center?

Playing the game isn’t work to me. Determine what would help the clan in war, start an account and play it to get it to what you want. It is part of the fun. A player in another thread right now is discussing how he did this and he went to th10 in one month and figures he will have a th12 to donate siege machines in one more month. Two months is about what I would have estimated too. If players aren’t willing to put in a little effort to get a th12 then they can war without it. It is their choice. Telling them to do nothing since it is a “problem” that SC created is not the best advice. Giving them a realistic way to create an advantage for their clan is much better advice.

Th10s already had their halls far from center if they were trying to avoid getting 3 starred. Yes, careful placement of the hall, infernos, cc, queen, etc. all matters for sure with SM in mind.

It’s a mistake by supercell to let this happen. Working around it by rushing an account to th12 doesn’t change the mistake. And frankly, I don’t have time to start an account from zero and get to 12. I’m quite sure it would take me a lot longer than a couple months.

It is up for debate whether it is a mistake or not, but either way it is what it is. You can choose to put in the playing time to take advantage of SMs or not. Clans that do will have an advantage over clans that don’t. My clan isn’t great at war, but we are better than average, we win a little better than 3 wins for each loss. I know there are clans that put hours of practice and planning time into war attacks. We don’t. They have better records than us. We accept that. We realize we are not likely to beat players putting way more time and effort into the war than we are. That’s ok. It is our choice.

As for the time required, I think 2 months is a good estimate for an active farmer, 4 months if not very active. Players who like playing the game will find it entertaining to create such an account and their clan will have the benefit of SMs for war.

Actually, it is so easy for a mid TH10 to three star most TH11s, using a siege engine. Whether air or ground, use a wall wrecker with king and queen to deliver king queen and bowlers to the centre TH and Eagle.

Admittedly, I do not see any late TH11s any more. I guess they have gone to TH12. I see a lot of rushed TH12s. Talking ~ champions I to champions III.
