Siege machine in low wars

We do TH8-TH10 wars. If our opponent has SMs, we usually tie at 30. If they don't, we usually win. The wall wrecker's tanking and punch to center make it too easy.

I would start with a brand new or a bad account, not a 9.5, although starting from a th10 would make it happen very fast and easy. Anyway, why isn’t it a good solution? It is much better than the players still complaining this long after SMs were released that they can’t win wars, are going to quit, etc. They could continue to wait around with the hopes that SC changes the rules or they could get started on that rushed th12. With all the extra stuff from events and clan games, it wouldn’t take too much time or effort to raid with cheap armies low in trophies and rush everything to th12 level 1 every unit (other than a few farming troops). Clans with winning war records put much more effort into war than the effort it takes to rush one account to th12 for donations. Clans that are so casual about war that they aren’t willing to make one th12 account aren’t going to win as many wars as they otherwise would. Their choice.

I just see it as a ton of work thrust upon clans to fix a problem that Supercell created.

Even if you build only the minimum stuff and research only the minimum troops, it would still take months. These clans probably aren't about to invest real $$ for gems & additional builders on this account. And it would require some long non-stop raiding sessions (spend it before it's stolen). Your wimpy defenses will get stomped every 16 hours.

I can almost equate it to engineering/defenseless bases. SC's MM algorithm created the problem, people complained, then some % of players/clans quit wars while others bit the bullet to make engineered bases of their own. Here we are again: either quit wars or build new bases just to not be at a disadvantage. OR SC could fix it ... somehow...

Does that mean you would agree with not allowing any edrags for anyone in war that doesnt have someone who can build them being in the war as well? What about all the other troops that you can only unlock at certain levels?
This is not a new situation, it has existed from TH1 upwards since wars began, why is this different?

A sole e-drag in attack is really not that fantastic, in my experience.

The siege engine, on the other hand, makes it so easy for any TH10 to three star another TH10.

Maybe we will discover anti siege engine TH10 base designs? Careful placement of storages, they slow down the siege engine? TH far from the center?

Playing the game isn’t work to me. Determine what would help the clan in war, start an account and play it to get it to what you want. It is part of the fun. A player in another thread right now is discussing how he did this and he went to th10 in one month and figures he will have a th12 to donate siege machines in one more month. Two months is about what I would have estimated too. If players aren’t willing to put in a little effort to get a th12 then they can war without it. It is their choice. Telling them to do nothing since it is a “problem” that SC created is not the best advice. Giving them a realistic way to create an advantage for their clan is much better advice.

Th10s already had their halls far from center if they were trying to avoid getting 3 starred. Yes, careful placement of the hall, infernos, cc, queen, etc. all matters for sure with SM in mind.

It’s a mistake by supercell to let this happen. Working around it by rushing an account to th12 doesn’t change the mistake. And frankly, I don’t have time to start an account from zero and get to 12. I’m quite sure it would take me a lot longer than a couple months.

It is up for debate whether it is a mistake or not, but either way it is what it is. You can choose to put in the playing time to take advantage of SMs or not. Clans that do will have an advantage over clans that don’t. My clan isn’t great at war, but we are better than average, we win a little better than 3 wins for each loss. I know there are clans that put hours of practice and planning time into war attacks. We don’t. They have better records than us. We accept that. We realize we are not likely to beat players putting way more time and effort into the war than we are. That’s ok. It is our choice.

As for the time required, I think 2 months is a good estimate for an active farmer, 4 months if not very active. Players who like playing the game will find it entertaining to create such an account and their clan will have the benefit of SMs for war.

Actually, it is so easy for a mid TH10 to three star most TH11s, using a siege engine. Whether air or ground, use a wall wrecker with king and queen to deliver king queen and bowlers to the centre TH and Eagle.

Admittedly, I do not see any late TH11s any more. I guess they have gone to TH12. I see a lot of rushed TH12s. Talking ~ champions I to champions III.
