Yeah, but thats why you don't have to give leader then. Keep leader and allow coleader to do as they are told and demote them to elder/member if they abuse their role.

There should be a mechanism to retain leader regardless of visiting another clan, but only for the clan you originally started/founded. I support the idea of another clan rank whatever it is called. Helps with the elder promotion process as well since the leader cannot always be on. And a variety of other reasons.
I think it would be wise to lift the kick cooldown for this role, too. People that are empowered to high elder/co-leader (whatever it is called) should be done so with extreme scrutiny and trust. If a leader gives this kind of power to a reckless kid then shame on the leader for not being diligent.
Would love to see this implemented for sure.
I'm not in support of this. Kick Cooldown should be retained, and only the leader has a limitless kick ability. Also, about the leader retaining leadership when not in the clan: No. What if he wants to leave forever? What if he just leaves and never comes back. That's sort of like saying that the principal of a school is still the principal of that school if he goes to another school. It doesn't work that way.
its not like a principal leaving at all - they have no vested ownership in the school, they are just playing a role. Retaining founder gives the option to return whenever he/she wants and that should be their right since they started the clan. If the original leader leaves on bad terms, probably best to start a new clan.
Your analogy is not a good one but i can see your point and its probably a good topic to talk through.
As far as the kick cooldown, i'm not sure why that's such a concern. don't give the power to people who shouldnt have it. Injecting this additional tier of leadership into the clan structure allows newly promoted elders to be monitored for abusive use of power or something similar. the folks that are given this new tier should be highly trusted and there shouldn't be a large amount of them either.
Read the stickies. This is known by Supercell so we don't need another thread on it but I think it would be a good idea.

Okay- it wasn't an analogy about ownership, it's about the power that they hold- If they don't know what's going on, why should they be able to hold the power to make the decisions? Also, 40,000 gold isn't really a lot.
Your cooldown rebuttal is legitimate, and I withdraw my original opinion: If the leader promotes someone that they don't fully trust, it's their own fault.
Great idea. Co-leader, high elder whatever. This needs to happen.
Sorry but this idea has been requested so many times. But i agree there should be a co-leader.
