I may be wrong but im sure this has come up before, and the difference lies with apple not sc, sc sets the amounts, but the costs are equalised at apples end. Supercell have no control over it costing 100$ or £70 etc.

Can't imagine it to be very different, it's an internet company, I think that they can choose where they pay their taxes depending on where their headquarter is. But anyway, if that was the case, is it really fair that the players should pay for it so SC can make as much profit in each country?

I can't see it beeing that hard to pick a currency and compare the others to it once/year to see if it needs changing, just see if another even good number is closer.

Was thinking that it might be some kind of fee for exchanging the money into a bigger currency but it can hardly be fair that the players have to pay that. My guess is that they checked up the currency while developing the game and has left it there, this would make the currencys that has dropped in the last few years "cheaper" and the more stable ones more "expensive".

This is really just a warning for the players that buy gems out there, your base may in reality have cost a whole lot more than others.

If that's true It's not much to do about it I guess and it sounds like a possibility. No harm in spreading the word though, it's unfair no matter who's to blame and people should know about it :)

Ok, now is my comments back again... It sure shows that I'm new to the forums..

Supercell does not set the prices of in-app purchases. Apple and Google Play are responsible for determining the pricing of in-app purchases. In addition, you have to take local taxes into account. They are different everywhere!

Just to add to what Steve said - developers only put a "Tier" to the in-app purchases. For instance, the US $99.99 Chest of Gems is simply programmed as "Tier 60" within the App. From that, Apple assigns a currency value to the 80-90 different app stores/currencies they accept. Apple does not update the exchange rates daily, weekly, or even monthly - they are reviewed annually, but now and then they will made some changes within that time - it's up to them. With daily fluctuating values, it's possible to get +/- the value Apple sets if they haven't done a review in awhile.

In essence, a developer picks the tier for a US Dollar amount, then how that gets localized/converted is up to Apple.
