They reduced the loot bonus because they changed spell cost from gold to elixir and most people have an excess of elixir than gold, which means a higher liklihood of spells being used to hit storages.

SC INCREASED the DE storages hit points, then they,DECREASED the loot multiplier. What else do you want. Zapping is an "effective" strategy used by many. Easy solution- BAM can crack open a base with lots of DE
Yes, they did those two things, but made spells cost elixir which offset a lot of that benefit.
Spells are far more attractive costing elixir, particularly for a lightning bolter. It doesn't take long to get to a point of not needing elixir at TH7 & TH8. But you need gold and dark elixir. 3 lightning bolts is an easy way to resolve that.
I'm not against storage's having some lightning immunity, but not sure if that is the best solution. TH8 vs TH8 or TH9 vs TH9 would be fighting for only 2,000 DE. Lighting drops in that case aren't that big of a deal. They also have equal revenge opportunity to get it back.
I think the best solution would be for SuperCell to cut back the loot multiplier further.
If you are TH7 or TH8 with 3 bolts and find a TH9 or TH10 with 3,000 DE...you are going to bolt every day of the week - also knowing you get 50% protection on defense. That's the problem in my opinion, the multipliers is what makes the tactic so attractive.
If the loot multiplier was scrapped and you saw only 2,000 DE regardless of hall? I don't think as many will bother. It would also go a long way to restoring loot balance at all halls. It's stupid that TH7 can make more then TH10. Loot bonus is also a big contributor to this problem.
Not a zapper but if that's how people play the game then why punish them for it? Ur resources r going to get stolen in many different ways, that's the game....
There are several reasons, the key reasons being that: no matter how decent base you got, there is no way of defending against zapping. Another one being highlighted already is the fact that if you are a TH9 trying to revenge the zapping TH7, or the same scenario with TH10 and TH8, there's a 50% loot penalty for you, so you have no chance to get back anything of value whatsoever.
If someone steals my resources in one of those different ways mentioned by you they are breaking into my core and pewpewing my DE, and probably have a well-developed enough base to have a fair amount of DE to steal back, unless they spend it all on an upgrade before I have the time to revenge. In this scenario, at least you have the opportunity to get back an acceptable amount of resources.
The loot bonus sould be decreased, and to all those who go about how they already did decrease it, yes - but only when there's a 3 level difference in TH, meaning the TH7's can still lollipop around zapping TH9s (or 8's versus 10's) for the same 50% bonus, with no fear of retaliation due to the 50% penalty the other way. Hope this clarifies the issue for some people.
Lightning is fine. It's the loot bonus that is broken. They need to scrap the bonus.
lightings on de is definitly not fine and should be dealt with .
want good heroes ? work for them , dont come and just throw some lightings on the staroge
this is very annoying , and im trying not to log off much becaouse of this
im working on heroes now and taking the de with farming army , and i get revenged with lightings .. theres no way they can get to my de so they just throw 4 lighthings and take half of what aviable ... :mad:

Your rage from getting repeatedly zapped has blinded you, sir. What OP is suggesting is that the damage of the Lightning spell is reduced to half of what it currently is, but that it would do double the damage to defences, troops and passive building.
So, not 2x of current damage to those, but ½ of current damage x2, or the exact same damage as current damage. It would then do less damage to resource buildings, such as DE storage. Doesn't one regular lightning kill wizards, as it is now? I thought it did, but maybe I'm wrong?
