Town Buildings

It would be nice to have more buildings for the town, maybe an ice cream shop for the beach?

Not an ice cream shop, as that would mean that every single visitor going there would request ice cream, which would drain your ice cream stocks far quicker than they currently are.

The reason why all of the existing town buildings are fairly non-specific in terms of the items which visitors request there is to spread the requests across all of your production machines.

For the same reason, there could never be a pizza shop or a hot dog stand or a florist in the town.
