Proposal to Make 1 Gem “Donate Now” a Permanent Option

I’m not sure about anyone else, but prior to the current 1 gem event I never used the donate now feature. It was simply not worth it to waste the gems that I have bought/earned just to donate high level troops to some schmuck that can’t use them correctly anyhow.

However at a cost of only 1 gem, I figured what the heck. As the week+ rolled along, I realized that my gem count was down about 300 gems. It is this type of micro transaction that keeps SC rolling along. I would say that about 50 of those gems were earned and 250 were purchased. It may not seem like much but SC just made $2.50 off of me that they normally would not have.

When extrapolated over 100 million users, that is a HUGE sum of money to make in 2 weeks.

Did anyone else use this feature as much as me or am I just a sucker?

In our clan the 1 gem donations have gone up as well. No one ever used Gems to donate otherwise.

I used this feature until my gems were completely gone! If this event was still around come pay day, I would definitely drop $5 or $10 on gems just to have them on hand for quick donations.

I used the feature but only with gems I've accumulated over the years. I wouldn't purchase gems to use this feature personally.

I expect SC make quite a bit from the donation feature in its normal fashion so I don't expect the 1 gem to be rolled out permanently.

All these 1 gem events have however been very good for the game and activity and I expect we will see them in future events.

I agree. This feature is really cool for any type of clan. Personnally, I only use the 1-gem option for heavy troops such as Drag, Edrag, pekka, golem... for other troops I still wait fort the training but I'm sure it would be a very welcomed feature if it would be permanently added

We ran several wars and every time the defensive war ccs were filled in less than 5 min. I know I’m not the only one. Seems like a no brainer to me. I’m certain SC can track this. Hopefully it is QoL change in future update.

i fully agree, because this event pushed members to give more troops, even if we don't have the cooked we were using the gem to give troops and it was a nice feature

This might help smaller clans to donate faster. :D

I don't think this will be a permanent feature though.

I hadnt used the donate feature before, but it is brilliant at 1 gem. lifesaver for donating siege machines too

Not only smaller clans...we are a clan lvl 15 and 46 members, and it was so helpfull for us...usually if you are at legend or titan league etc...you will have an army based on bowlers, miners and so on...when low level players come and ask for maxed drags or a troop that you don't use, and you are rushing you prefere not to give to be able to rush more...with this feature, we were giving more troops cuz it's easy to give to the ones who are asking for troops that we haven't cook.

I was thinking the same thing, would love to see 1 gem donation stick around. Would certainly give me a reason to buy a few more gems than I would otherwise.

Never spent 1 gem on donating a troops before this event... now I must have spent at least 300...
1 gem is such a small amount I didn't realise I spent to many in this event, nevertheless, I'd love to see this added as a permanent feature!

Yep, I am spending a lot more gems. A couple mre days of 1 gem donation, and I would have to buy some..

I never used that option before, 1 gem per unit sounds just right to get reinforcements while our army is full.

I never used the gem donation feature until it was 1 gem. I have no idea how many gems I’ve used over all my accounts but I used it a ton during the event

Same here. Especially with the rolling out of siege machines. Only being able to hold 2 at a time, having them take agea to train and br expensive to cook... they're gonna be a lot slower to roll out moving forward, that's for sure

1 gem giving siege mac to clan mate n 50k gold in return too...I dnt think they will make it permanent.

I dunno how many non-maxed th12s are going to want to be donating 100-150k gold siege machines after this event is over.

You didn't get the gold refund if you used one gem to donate. I made sure to look for that, but they had it covered

The feature made donating troops faster and big troops easily, while helping players claim rewards by clans for donations.

Would love SC to implement something or make this permanent. It greatly improved regular donations since only top guys get to donate during wars.

I would like this to be permanent, but it probably wouldn’t be brought as a permanent feature. I’d still be happy if it was a weekly or monthly event.

This was being discussed in an existing thread HERE already. That said...same here - I hit the Donate Now on an SM and got hit for 30 gems, not realizing that the event was over. I will NOT be making that mistake again. :mad: I’d love to see the 1 gem donation thing come back as a permanent feature. Hopefully, SC will see the benefit and reset it. What I expect is that they’ll instead go the “let’s see how a magnanimous price reduction fares” route.

In the meantime...no more SM donations....

It was a huge quality of life improvement.

I propose they make the donate now gems into what it costs to gem the troops from the troop queue. Instead of what the troop space is. So for example instead of 30 for a golem, it would become 9 for a golem. Instead of 25 for a drag it would become 6. This way instead of it being outrageously expensive or extremely cheap, it would then be reasonable

Yes, I agree with this idea. I'm usually stingy when it comes to gems and I don't spend it on anything else than gemming hero upgrades before a war or to buy book of heroes. But during the one gem events, I donated Golems, Hounds and spells many times to my clan mates, I spent around 120-140 gems.

Well perhaps except for everyone except SC...

I do not mean the barracks, spell factory, or hero regen boosts. I think they are good as is. I’m only talking about the 1 gem donation feature.

Would love to have 1 gem option as permanent part of the game. We attacked and farmed like crazy during this event

I think Supercell would be wise to have a "1 gem donation event" in the future that is separated from the TH12 drop. Naturally they saw a boost in gem and $$ expenditure related to the new content (as they always do) so it's nearly impossible to determine if gem spending increased due SOLELY to the update or if the 1gem donation had any effect.

A couple of months from now they should repeat the 1gem donate feature and see if they observe a bump in spending. I suspect they would as I, like many others here, spent more gems than I care to count handing out electro dragons and battle rams instantly. Ordinarily I never spend even a single gem doing so.

If they isolate the event to observe revenue SOLELY related to the gem donations, my hypothesis is that they would be making more money overall. Do the experiment SC, let's see the results :)

I Have to Agree with you and you have pointed out an obvious thing that could improve clasb Experience in futures. I would hope to see the one gem donate Event as often as events. I think next they should host it for at least one month during Clashiversary. Pretty long but I believe players wouldn't hesitate Consuming their gems in small amounts.

We had clanmates who never donate start donating. This is a wonderful idea for clans, leaders, and supercell?

They could add it to clan perks maybe, each level unlocking a new troop for 1 gem or reducing the gem cost by half every five levels or something.

Only used gem donations once, accidentally. During the event used it all the time. Would buy gems for that convenience...

Most welcomed for it to be a permanent feature, especially for donating siege machines. The time it takes to build, the cost, plus you can only build 2, impedes the donation efficiency. I don't see it happening though.

Well, any discounts in the shopping malls will generate them some income/money. But that doesn't mean they should give discounts all the time. Some people will always choose to wait for the discounts, and if the discounts is common thing, they will wait for better discounts before purchasing anything.

Hahaha, I spent about 2k gems during that event on donations. 0 gems on donations since it ended.
