Quality of Life idea - Removing troops you donated by mistake

Sometimes when donating to members of your clan, we can often donate wrong troops. This is true during war, during prep day, or when donating during war. We either fat finger, or we perhaps thought we had a network problem, the button didn't respond, so we donated one too many troops by accident, and sometimes the people who donate aren't online to realize he had a wrongly donated troop because he/she were too busy to notice. So I'm thinking that the person who donated the troop is also allowed the ability to remove their own donation instead of apologizing on the clan mail. OR, I'm thinking that the leader/co-leader can remove donated troops during clan wars.

+1 for leaders/co-leaders removing donated troops in clan wars.

Absolutely, positively, no way, no how.

Once you have donated your troops, they cease to be yours. Once they enter my village, they belong to me.

No one has any right to do anything in my village. Period. End of story. Not the leader. Not the co-leader. Not some random member that no longer owns the troops that were given to me.

So no, no one should have the authority to remove troops from another person. Ever. The only person that should be able to remove those troops is the village owner. If you donated the wrong troops, well, that's on you. But the village owner now has the opportunity to look at what they were given and to decide whether or not they want to keep them. You do not get to decide that because you no longer own those troops. They are gone from you.

Leaders, keep your grubby hands in your own villages. They do not belong in anyone else's. If you think that someone has the "wrong" troops, then tell that person to remove them so that you can give them the "right" troops. If they refuse, then feel free to kick them if that is how you want to run your clan. But you do not get to take that decision away from the member. Those are their troops in the CC now, and they get to decide how they want to use them, if they want to use them.

So not just a no from me, but an absolute horror filled no.

if its a war cc during prep day, i agree about leaders can delete the troops by themselves. no negative effect in it.

but if its a troop request its a bad idea because a person can delete a request then fill it again repeatedly, drastically increasing their troop donation count.

there are more reasons on why players want to mass donate: resource dumping, excess troop dumping, Friend in need, Exp, and Clan appeal. with Op's idea you can now do it in a very fast rate , so i disagree.

even if its possible for you to decrease the donation count, would you do it?

Yeah, for war CC I agree that the donator should be able to remove troops but for regular troop request, I think it should not be allowed.

Even for war CC, why does anyone think it is acceptable for someone else to remove troops from your village? Serious question here. Why does anyone think that is OK? They aren't your troops. They are the person that owns the village's troops. Why? Because once donated, the donor loses any and all control of them. They are given, ie., donated, which means you lose your rights to them, and they become the property of the host of the village.

If you think it is OK for someone other than the village owner to remove troops from that village, then what else is ok? Is it OK to remove their army troops because you think they have the wrong army cooked? Is it OK to start the "correct" troops cooking for them? Is it OK to change their village, either war or home base, because you know better? Is it OK to take control of their army and do their war attacks for them? Is it OK to force them to collect their resources from their collectors?

Let's get down to the bare bones. This is a multi-player game. What gives anyone the right to play someone else's game? I know that the war CC seems to be trivially small, but it is part of a greater principal: it's not your village. Period.

The minute you invite someone in to your clan, you need to accept that they will play their village how they want to play it. Make all the rules that you want, and enforce them how you want. That's fine. But the player still has decision making responsibilities. No one should be allowed to force that player, ie., take control and do something for them, no matter how small. If you do not like their war CC troops, then tell that person to delete them so you can donate the right ones. I have no problem with that, because the owner can now decide on their own what to do. But taking that choice away from them? What gives anyone that right? The right of the leader is to remove the person from the clan if the leader wants to. But not to play any aspect of the game for someone else, which includes troop management.

Where is the right?

It's a nice idea to delete unwanted troops ..

If there was a mistake in the donation, I do not think it is a big deal to be able to correct them. If you asked for a hound and 2 loons and I accidentally put 3 loons in then it should not take a whole production to correct that mistake. If I put more of a specific troop than what you asked then the extra one is not yours to begin with.

Then delete the unwanted troops, wait until you can request again, and ask for the troops you want. Problem solved. No need to delete troops you donated, accidentally or intentionally.

How do you guarantee that the recipient will be able to delete the unwanted troops before battle day starts?

are you worried that your clan will give the troops you dont want in war cc? a decent war is always open for discussions about that. if the clan you are in always prefers a different troop than you want then it wont matter if the leader can delete the troops or not.

i suggest you talk it out first with the clan. if the clan insists an unwanted troop , find a more decent clan

You don’t. But that is a risk that we all take by playing a multiplayer game and inviting other people to play with us. I know that giving a leader control makes things easier. It really does. And that is very, very tempting.

But I believe in personal responsibility. Everyone is responsible for their own village. And that means yes, checking your troops before prep day ends.

Sometimes that is not possible. Heck, someone may get in to an accident and not be able to do their attacks. Or drop their phone, break it, and not be able to use their attacks while they wait for a replacement. There are a myriad of possibilities. The point is that people will disappoint you. It happens.

And you know what? That’s OK! This is a game. If you lose the war, we’ll, that stinks. Maybe it ruined a long streak. But at the end of the day, it’s just a game. You can make a new streak.

But when we play with other people we have to let them play their game. If we want full control then we should just make multi accounts and play by ourselves.

We’re just going to disagree I suppose. To me, whether you made a mistake, gave more or less troops than intended, or whatever, once you donate them they are no longer yours. When they leave your village, they are gone and not your property any more. You have donated them, which means you freely gave them away. By mistake or not, they are not yours anymore.

Once they enter my village then they are mine. If you gave me more troops than you had intended, that is too bad. The game is clear that these are not loans, they are not a friendly army under the senders control, they are a donation. So when you give them, they are now mine. Which means that I can do whatever I want with them, including disbanding them if I do choose, or using them, or a combination thereof.

And since they have become mine, I do not think anyone has any right to disband them.

See, this amuses me. You suggest to talk it out and discuss, and then go on to support a unilateral ability to remove troops from someone else’s village.

My objection is in principle, not on personal fear or any such thing. If this were a thing, I would have no concern that my leader would touch my units. But that isn’t the point. The point is the principle: no one should be able to change another persons village. Period.

Discussion is great! And I’ve said that already. If you donate the wrong troops, tell the member that! Confess, offer to give the correct troops if they want to disband them. That’s fine! Have that discussion.

The discussion puts the onus of the decision to keep or remove the troops where it belongs: in the owners village. Let them decide what to do.

I absolutely, and very strongly, disagree that a leader, or anyone, should be able to touch another member’s village. Sure, you would advocate that they discuss it first. But if they discussed it, then there is no need for the leader to unilaterally remove those troops. If the member agrees then they will remove the troops themself. And if they don’t agree, if they decide they want those trooos? Too bad for the leader as it isn’t the leaders village. If the leader is offended by that members decision, well, the leader can demote or kick the member. I guess it depends on how much the leader wants to micromanage their clan.

So to sum up: discussion is good! Touching someone else’s village is bad.

Well clan leaders don't want to lose in war.. or want you to fail in ur battles.. so they don't want to delete a troop from ur clan castle on purpose to be jerks. Its just to fix a mistake which happens.

I never said anything about the giving the leader control. I am advocating for the one who donated to be able to remove his or her donation specially in the event where a mistake happen. There is no reason to take this risk if there is a simple solution to fix the problem.

People who donate make mistake and they should be given a chance to correct that mistake without having to wait for the recipient. It is that simple. Why is that such a bad thing? The mistake is not in conjunction with what was requested and people would be more than willing to correct that mistake and since the mistaken troop is not what you requested to begin with then why is this not a desirable feature? You are trying to argue to keep troops that you did not want to begin with.

This is actually an argument for not allowing people to correct their mistakes because only those who donate to themselves will have the control to correct the mistake that they made to themselves.

If you go to a charity and dropped off a pile of clothes on the counter and you noticed that your phone is in that pile that phone does not belong to them. You have every right to pick that phone back up as it is rightfully yours.

touching someone else's village can be good or bad. the bad side is too easy to handle that it no longer needs a lot of texts to discuss.
then theres the good side. oh someone messes up with the war ccs with wallbreakers... dont worry problem solved. oh i accidentaly placed an extra archer and the owner is not online yet... oops what archer?
