Your problem would be you killed them to fast before they did 40% damage. Downgrade your base flamer!

In all seriousness, don't use this base expecting massive wins, you win most and lose some. A good base works on the average loot lost over a week, not someone smashing your base apart because they know how to.
Exactly. There are no impenetrable bases at TH7. The goal at this stage is to be able to repel most average raiders, and to deter as many high level farmers as possible by making your base difficult and costly to raid. It's the same if you're raiding as a TH7 - while you could probably destroy most TH6 you come across, why wouldn't you skip the well laid-out ones when there are easier ones for the picking? Fewer troops deployed = less time building = more raids per hour = more loot per hour.

Thanks Mike, I hope it's working out well for you. I know Lostris is happy with it. Like bgizzle said - win some lose some. this wasn't intended to win it all. There is a high probability that you will retain your storages. Great attackers will figure out the puzzle, but how many great attackers are there?

Glad that others are enjoying the base design I have. I could not be happier...am currently working something out in my head for when my TH upgrades to lvl 8, if it works I can post that design here at some point.
As far as air defense and how open to being taken out it is, that has not been a problem at all for me. The units are so close together that in general there are multiple units attacking the same target(s) so its very effective. Everything in general gets hit by so much that they go down fast, and if the cc is full or even half full, they won't get near the inside.
Wbs have hardly been used against me, strangely enough. I guess they think they aren't needed, not sure, but the two breaches to the inner walls I have had have been really because those two attacks were nr 5 of the night and last night, nr 4, so a lot of the defenses were weakened, although the prior attacks didn't result in much for them, just trophies to me... No major loss of resources either.
In general, all of the defenses of the same type, for me, overlap, and especially with the two teslas, as a little added bonus, all sides are well protected. I have seen most attacks coming from the SE, seems to be a real pattern with that for me - towards my TH. Over 95% are from that side.
I think that because it's hard to analyze this type of design, it's not pretty or orderly...it hides a lot of why it is so effective. It confuses people who are used to seeing parallel walls and nice & neat. I have stopped analyzing it, and believe me, being an artist that is not easy, I have just come to appreciate how well it works, and enjoy the replays over coffee...although there are many nights I am not attacked, and I do try to leave at least a bit of resources, could leave more out I guess to entice.
Am interested in any thoughts as far as TH8 designs, I do like Humuhumu's design as well as one other I have seen, which might suit me, but have a feeling I might make a hybrid of something.
I will keep an eye out should there be any other questions or such concerning the TH7 open design, as I'm more than happy to help others from my experience, although I am no expert.
This doesnt work at all....I copied it exactly n lost 7 battles in a row in the past 3 days....i have a town hall lvl 8 so i added more walls n weapons n still i got destroyed. This village sucks
