So what do we think of this riverboat event? Im undecided to be honest. Gonna make folk less likely to help neighbours I would think
Why do you think farmers will be less likely to assist during this event?
I don't know how much of a difference that will make. Whenever you help someone with their boat you always know that you might be giving away something you might later need. Plus some people are presumably working on their helper achievement.
i like it myself because I feel it's bringing a bit of extra interest to a task I'm going to be doing anyway.
My stratagy is to ignore it and do business as usual. The rewards for the last few events haven't been good enough to make me care.
Wring here... Just finished one boat for me and the filled a crate each for 4 people. I don't care about how many I fill or the event. Business as usual for me, I help my neighbors when I can.
I never got my global award from the fishing event, so, meh. I'm also starting to get a lot of hard-to-fill boats lately, which I tend just to send away empty. I'd rather help other people, or sell in my RSS if I need money.
Yeah, let's spend 5 diamonds to get our boat in earlier so maybe we will get 5 diamonds when we reach the global goal........ Did it once and suddenly realised what I was doing. Not gonna do it again. So for me, business as usual and if I will earn rewards by doing that it will be a nice bonus.
I'm passing on this one and continue help farm neighbors
I think there is a slight misunderstanding here, I think Cazzabee knows you get coins etc from filling her neighbors boat orders. What she means is you don't get any rewards from the global event when you fill other boat orders.
I sent my last boat order away.
A order for 24 creams and 24 raspberry jams! My next order...crates for grey sweater only!
The rewards for the last event was so poor I don't think I am going to get excited with this new event!
I'm not able to give any opinion yet. Been cooking and feasting. Get on Hay Day, see a new event, and Poof!...servers go down. :(
Well, I sent out my first completed boat and accomplished the first personal goal, netting me (2) TNT. I'm fine with that- it's something we normally do anyway, so just a little "bonus" from SC. I'm not complaining about anything that provides few little "bennies" in the end...:)
Hubby got his first personal goal and got 2 axes
my boat will be here in 3 hours
I sent off my first boat and got 2 axes as well. I am ok with it. When it started I felt as if I was not going to go for it but I can not not do it. I guess it just something about the challenge I cannot resist. I am not sure I will be able to do it though. I like to take it easy with boats so I can have enough time with stocking up again and usually just fill two boats max per day.
I received 1 tnt on my first boat. The next one coming is a Jam(apple) and sugar boat. Do you guys think it will be wiser to cast that boat right away for this event especially the jam boats?
I just cast off my first event boat:
7 x Creams x 4 Crates
3 x Cheese x 4 Crates
2 x Goats Cheese x 4 Crates
= BIG FAT JOKE OF BOAT TO FILL
The one I had two days ago was:
3 x Apple Jam x 9 Crates - My entire boat as Apple Jam!
It need 18 apple jam in 16 hours.
How can you complete this to reach gobal goal?
Not so sure that many people have 20 jams on hand considering too it takes FOREVER to make.
Not sure yet what I think... not too thrilled. Top person already has...last I looked about 5 hours ago.. was 14...FOURTEEN boats already when the event was barely what an hour old. Fourteen! Wow.. wish I had money to burn! Even if I did it's not gonna be on a game- not yet anyway.
I know I'll never have a chance of being in the top ten of any global events the way some people play.
completed first personal goal... got 2 dynamite as a reward... my next boat will arrive in 2 hours 35 minutes... hope to complete my personal goal
I'm anticipating this event will increase sugar, dairy, and soy sauce boats. 8 million total though so maybe it's an easier goal. Anyone know the amounts yet?
Ive had 2 boats so far. My rewards have been 2 saws and 2 panels.
I'm really confused! I saw in the announcements/ news section the picture of 'are you ready for the weekend' with the sheep & goat thinking that the event was something to do with goat & sheep products! So silly me started filling my dairy production with feta cheese, I open the game up this morning and it's... A boat event!
So what's the sheep & goat hint or was it not a hint? It's like there was lots of talk about a fishing event a few weeks back - I stocked up on lures & another event happened instead so I used all my lures before the fishing event happened the following week after I'd used all my lures! I wish it was clearer!
So I'll just be playing as normal - if I can fill a boat I will, if not it will get cast off!
Business as usual for me too. I'll fill my boats, open one crate of each for others, help other ppl's boats and sent off sugar/dairy boats :) I have already filled one boat, the next boat is an easy one too and having filled it will enable me to take part in the global challenge eg. 5 diamonds if the goal is reached.
I've just received 2 dynamite for hitting my first goal. I'm going to keep trying to fill my boats and help others as usual and if I manage to get some presents from SC and maybe the diamonds at the end of it all, I will be really happy. I think it's great that we can do these challenges and receive rewards for doing so - I don't understand why people are so negative - if they don't like this particular challenge, just wait for the next one. SC will never be able to please every player every time!
Fed up with riverboats always setting impossible goals (18 jars of Apple jam) when an event starts - do the math. It's not fun. Would rather help others than stay on 24/7.
Thanks MisterTEZ....thats exactly what i meant. Personally, i've filled 2 boats and reached the global goal (received 2 saws and 2 screws) so thats enough for me and it will be business as usual for me now so if i fill enough to reach the end goal thats ok but if not then thats ok too.
From what im reading so far, most people aren't even going to bother about this event and going for the global goals so it will be business as usual for them therefore will keep helping others. Thats the sort of opinions I was looking for.
I got 2 axes for the first goal an a purple voucher for the second. I will continue with business as usual -including casting off sugar/dairy/soy sauce boats, unless I can fill them myself.
When I woke up this morning and checked my boat, I sent it away because I didn't like it. Then I noticed there's a boat event and I was slightly disappointed with myself haha, because honestly, events always get me excited despite the dullness of this one. Like most people say: it's business as usual!
Business as usual for me.
I just got 2 shovels and I'm desperately short of ore, so I love it :D
I just saw one boat 12 crates x 4 soya sauce !,,
The first boat was easy.. got 2 TNT
Second one quite ready but 44 brown sugar! I had many in stock, nevertheless I hope this is something worthing for..
Normally I don't accept these kind of loading, but, due to the event..
Lol. I thought (two news ago) that there were buried hints in those news as well. But studying their posts (in FB and here) I have come to realize that the ones with hints are very direct. For example, "guess what is coming next?" Or similar. Those wishing us good weeks and weekends are just that (so far). :o
Second boat ready.. no it doesn't worth.. 2 screws
And next one will be soya sauce..
I think I'll pass this event and going on with usual business.
My first boat (lol) is to arrive in half an hour and the cargo will be Goat Milk, White Sugar and Fish 'n Chips. Can anyone tell me what the amounts will be for the products? I've already stocked a few of them.
I totally agree. I would be filling boat crates for myself and neighbors as fast as possible no matter whether there was a boat event or not. However, it was nice to get a couple extra TNT--it was just what I needed at the time, as I was totally out of ore and mining tools at that moment. I like events!
~powdermonkey
So what are ur thoughts about completing the global goal? Do you guys think we can actually make it through? I personally think 8kk its a little exagerated and not likely to be done within the 3 days left.
As so many have posted here, we will be participating in the boat event but we will not be chasing it -- business as usual. We will open one crate of each item for neighbors, fill neighbors boats that we can, and cast off the usual boats we don't do: jam boats, dairy boats, sugar boats etc
1st reward: 2 TNT (have 75)
2nd reward: 2 screws (have 110)
if if we get mallets as 3rd reward, event prizes are officially LAME
I am doing business as usual also, and casting off my silly boats asking for items I normally cast off anyway (sugar, dairy and soy boats). I did however fill one boat so far, a dreaded soy boat, and I had to hire lazy Tom to help me with soy (lazy guy would only bring me 8 after 30 minutes of sending him to find some...lol). Does anyone ever get Tom to come back with a full load of 10? My Tom is always lazy, most he brings back is 9, sleeps far too much and I don't think he's strong enough to carry 10 items. Maybe he needs a buggy to help him...lolol
I always open one crate to help neighbors with wheel points.... But no one ever fills my soy :/ I understand that is precious cargo and tough to let go of, so if I do fill a soy, I know I'm going to be the one filling it...lol. Yes, I also help my neighbors with my precious soy, guess that's why most times my boat sits until my production is complete. I don't stress over when my boat leaves, as long as I can cast it off before time is up :o
I pray everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Take care and God Bless you!
Happy Farming:)
Got 2 tnts first boat, then 2 nails 2nd boat , so far so good
CatsMeow, I think 9 is the maximum Tom can find us.
For me so far with business as usual: 1st: 2 shovels - 2nd: 2 screws - 3rd: 2 gold vouchers
I like doing boats and helping neighbours fill their crates if I feel able, so it will be business as usual for me too. I will still send off boats I think I can't possibly fill and won't use diamonds to speed up, but getting the odd treat for doing what I always do is always welcome:)
got 2 spades, 2 nails & 2 marker stakes so far.......
I think that we are going to make it again. First event with the bne, we all learned from that. Reasonable goals are set now by SC. We are still in our 1st day and we already reached 2million boats.
I even think the personal goal can be met by everyone. Providing you just cast off boats that you can't fill (jams, sugar, cream, soy sauce, whatever) and don't leave it at your dock for 15-18hrs and have to send it away half filled anyway.
Good luck everyone!
2 nails, 2 TNT, 2 stakes. Definitely lame!
I am also in the "Business as Usual" camp. I'm not about to spend any diamonds to speed up a boat, during the event or otherwise.
I got 2x TnT, and 2 x Screws so far.
And I've declined two Soy Sauce boats.
lol! Yeah, just what we need, more nails! ;) so far my rewards are 2 dynamite and 1 purple voucher.
I agree with u, Spanielgirl, and e1 else, actually. Definitely business as usual. Love helping when I can and I like your point of view that this event is about getting extra treats for what we already do. Great way of looking at it. And the rewards are things that someone needs - just hope my next is gold vouchers ;) The last 2 events were so xp heavy that I screamed thru my last 2 levels. Want to slow down and enjoy level 44 so I imagine I will be less focused on completing this event. Unless, of course, there's a Christmas tree at the end of it! :D
Interesting.
Is anyone conducting business unusual?
Not sure of my opinion yet - this is my first event! I filled one boat and my prize was only 2 sticks of dynamite :(
Business as usual for me, but appreciated the two TNT cos my smelters were sitting idle, and sold the nails for a profit, but missed out on the diamonds cos the target was reached by all the rich people who buy diamonds to speed their boats up before I was able to send off my second boat, let alone my fourth! Bummer!
Attachment 21964 Doh, I was confused by this tab. I see now that you are right, Cazzabee, but still business as usual for me. Off on holiday this afternoon and might not be able to connect anyway. Dreading the possibility of enforced cold turkey!
My 1st boat gained me x2 dynamite ,2nd boat x2 nails ( much need), so I'm with BulldogLover & powdermonkey on this event. Business as usually, I will fill boats that I can fill & help as many neighbours as possible .
To be honest the events don't really rock my boat ( soz for the pun), I've never reached my personal goals on any & yet always received 5 diamonds at the end. Anything extra from SC , for doing what I do on the farm every day is a lovely bonus for me😍
I feel I have to defend myself for speeding up some boats.
I'm NOT rich. Yes, I bought diamonds. Once. With a discount offer that pops up now and again. Almost a year ago, in Xmas holiday last year. They still last, I spend them very wisely. And of course I bought them back then to help myself, but it was also meant as a thank you note to SuperCell for this great (and not to forget: free) game.
I thought that if the global goal was met -which is not the case yet, 2,2million of 8million- every player will get the 5 diamonds reward. But since I made all events so far, I'm not sure. So please correct me if I'm wrong here.
Edit: Aha, if you do 2 boats in 4 days, the second goal, you will participate in the global reward of 5 diamonds. I already wondered what that world-like icon meant. Thanks Cazzabee!
Third prize for me was 3 axes. Hehehe, old coffee bushes here I come... :)
My first boat got me 2 Shovels, my second boat got me a Gold Voucher! Nice =)
I haven't read everyone's posts, but I like the idea of getting some rewards for something I will be doing anyway. Since this started last night and the first boat that I have to send during this event will be sent off soon, I have a sinking feeling that they will request dairy and sugar items next and I will be casting them off. I seem to be casting off 1-3 boats before getting one to fill lately.
Business as usual :). Helping wherever possible because that's all there is to do in this game :D.
First goal got me 2 dynamite, second a gold voucher. Nothing to complain about so far.
Hahahahahahahaha! I saw the same thing...goats and sheep, so I started stocking up on wool, and even bought another goat! Made some feta ....sweaters....and it's a...boat event? Huh?? First boat was jams....ok, I filled it...second boat was....jams.....geez.....sent it on its way! Spent five diamonds to get another boat sent right away, so I could fill it and win 5 diamonds.....realized that shortly ago...how embarrassing!
So I'm with you...I'll be playing as normal too!
Yippee!! Filled up my fourth boat and got 2 deeds!
I already fill my boats as fast as possible, battling it out for a spot on boat leaderboard all the time, so this event will not change my game play in the slightest.
First boat gave me two axes, second a gold coucher, third 2 gold vouchers.
im not super excited about this event. I'll continue to fill the boats I like and send away boats I don't like, and will keep helping my friends with their boats. Business as usual, and whatever I get out of the event is just bonus, I guess. :)
I just want to ask folks to do one thing ...
During this event, please only flag your crates if you can finish the rest of your boat yourself. I just dumped my entire supply of two types of jams today for people who wound up unable to finish their boats.
I just replaced my jams (I have Tom right now) and dumped all my cherry jam on a friend of mine. Then I looked at the person's boat and I am not optimistic that they will finish their crates.
So if you are my friend, I will help you with anything that I can ... I just need to see the other crates filled first from now on :)
EDIT: 1st goal: 2 axes
2nd goal: 2 nails
3rd goal: 2 deeds
I don't have a sig yet, but I am level 51. GC: Cthulhu Sash; KIK: Cthulhu_Sashimi
I do my best to help anyone I can. Since I have Tom right now, feel free to add me :)
How do you know if a person is unable to finish a boat? I would think once you fill it's kind of out of your hands what happens to the boat. My last boat I COULD have finished but due to a miscalculation in time (I slept in :P) I missed loading the last 2 cheesecakes- had enough time for them to finish but boat sailed off anyway.
If none of the crates have been filled and a number of hours have passed, the person's machines are not working, or even if they are, the amount of time needed to fill the crates the person has to fill exceeds the time left, then it's pretty certain they are not going to complete the order. I used to fill hosts regardless, but now I also assess whether I think the person is going to complete before I help out. A lot of new players who haven't discovered this forum open crates for others, then just wait the 16 hours without filling any crates themselves. Sure, I still get the coins and XP, but perhaps I could have allocated my produce to someone else who has a chance of completing, and I would rather do that than waste it on someone who hasn't the remotest possibility of completing.
Was just coming on here thinking about how irritated I was to dump 3 crates of white sugar on a boat last night just to see no other crates on the boat filled this morning and 11 minutes to go!!!
I always calculate my boats as such: if I can fill it within 4 hours (sometimes with help) I load. If not, CAST OFF!
Of course today's boat was a white sugar/cream/sugarcane boat. Fortunately I had the sugar on hand but my stash is now totally depleted!!!
My GC info is in my signature, feel free to add. I do full sugar and dairy when I can but am totally fed up with filling boats that never get totally filled !!!
This event makes no difference in me helping my neighbors fill their boats. I'm helping when I can. I'm doing what I have always done. Just because I don't get double coins doesn't mean I won't help my friends. As others have stated, "It's business as usual."
As far as the event itself, well, it is nothing eventful to me. I like the boating event where we get double vouchers because I really need more purple ones to get one more horse.
I hope we get the truck event next time. For weeks I've gotten my board ready anticipating the truck event. And for weeks my smile has turned upside down for a second or two because I felt a little disappointed with the events. Then I remind myself I'm not the only person playing this game and that other people like the other events. So I go on farming away knowing there's another event for another day.
Business as usual for me too. Prizes didnt thrill me, have dynamite and saws available anyway. There are some over achievers again, diamonds would be very welcome in case they make the global goal. As for the rest, the most boring event ever.
Business as usual for me also.....just wish there wasn't sooooooo many boats asking for soy sauce because I can't help with those:p
Count me in as another "business as usual" player. It only adds to the frustration of having to cast off sugar/dairy/double soy sauce boats. I've only completed two boats since the event started cuz I've been getting sooo many sugar/dairy boats.
Its a great idea and its nothing new . . I enjoy helping everyone!
But, please!!! Can they HOLD BACK ON THE 18 JAMS ORDERS!!!!!
It takes 7 HOURS to make each jam and its KILLING THE GAME :-)
I was trying to hit all my event goals, but my last 7 boats have all had soy sauce, so after filling the first 2 I decided to give up!
Arrgh! I wasn't paying attention getting ready for the current boat, forgetting about the CREAM on it, and helped other boats and sold cream in my RSS. So now of course I have 3 crates of 9 creams each, with cheeses blocking my dairy production line! I'm so frustrated with myself I could scream:p Oh, and about eight hours of sleep to get in the meantime.
Darn fibromyalgia brain.
I just reached the last of my personal goals and here are the prizes I received. I just played my normal game as I usually do and have not called in any boats early nor did I speed up any production.

Lucky... I've filled 7 boats!!! I'll upload a pic in a minute
http://imgur.com/CQE4Jkq
Good Job!!!!
I am a hoarder and hoard everything there aren't many boats I can't take on. I can even manage the occasional sugar or dairy boat with ease. My boats usually only dock for a few minutes and I either complete it that fast or send it down the river empty.
I hope I get either purple vouchers or LEMs for my last reward :)
I filled my 10th boat early hours of this morning and here's my rewards
http://i761.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps7kzpjeze.png
Bit disappointed to be honest but hey ho, thats life.
And i know I said it was business as usual for me but I must admit, I don't think I filled as many neighbours boats as normal during the time I was trying to reach 10 just to see what I would get. I did hang back with stuff for my own boats but back to business as normal for me now though and if i have it, you can get it :-)
I'm not quite sure if I'll be able to reach the last one of the Personal Event Goals, but here's what I got: 2 x Shovel, 1 Gold Voucher, 2 x Purple Voucher, 2 x Purple Voucher. Not disappointed! :) :)
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this event!!! It hasn't affected how I help others in the least, and it gives fun rewards for doing what I'm going to do anyway. I love it because it doesn't cause a run on the DD the way product events do (b/e, pumpkin pies). You never know what your next boat is going to request, so if you keep most products in stock, even if it's just 3 or 4, and keep your machines filled only to the time it takes for your next boat to come in, it shouldn't be a problem to fill your boats, meaning you can still help your neighbors as much as you always did. This is absolutely the best kind of global event, IMO, because it doesn't create artificial shortages of a single product, nor does it tie up any machine for days on end. I will ALWAYS play in the global events if they keep them like this and the fishing one. I don't need tools at the moment, so those prizes get sold. And I received two gold vouchers for yesterday's prize, so what's not to love?
This event is awesome. THANKS, SC!!!
Same here with the sugar/syrup/dairy boats. I keep a handy supply of everything on hand anyway so those boats aren't much of a stretch. I've found that if I only load machines for four hours at a time (between boats), I can still make a few products of which I might be short. Well, except for jams. I'm woefully short on most of them because I keep helping neighbors.
:)
I filled the last boat of my Personal Event Goals this morning...
Here are my prizes....2x axes, 2x wooden panels, 3x shovels, 2x duct tape, 3x mallets...I will use what I can and will sell the rest...but to be honest, I was hoping for a voucher or two in there somewhere after seeing a lot of people receiving them.......but there is always next time.;)
Just filled my last boat of the 10. Not to thrilled with the prizes considering what we have to do to fill the boats, but getting kind of use to the sub-standard prizes. I will probably sell off most of what I got.
The thing that really baffles me are the farms that are able to fill over 800 boats during this challenge. How in the world do they do it? I went to one of those farms and also noticed that they had a lot more livestock, I am able to have. They had 12 goats and I can only have 4. Some of the other livestock numbers were more than what I am able to have as well. I am at level 72....are you able to have more livestock after reaching a certain level?
These people must have untold amounts of diamonds to pull off what they do. It all seems a little fishy to me. Would love to get some opinions from others.
Have a good one :)
Reached the last of the personal goals and here are the rewards. I hoped for more vouchers, but still not too bad.
Still seems a lot to spend for what you get from it. 800 boats from diamonds if all bought on a 60% sale is still almost $50. All that for a few expansion items and the odd voucher. To me that's a fortune to spend on things you can get for free just by spending a bit of time playing the game.
