A while back there was a thread Bye TehMikester about Animations for idiling Villagers and I thought it was a shame it was lost. So I am going to continue it! It is the ideas in the thread.

Cute animations for idling villages
I thought it could be fun to collect some ideas on how animations could add life to our villages and increase our "bonding" with its inhabitants, so to speak. Or at least, trying to catch cool animations could make it more fun when you're staring at your village waiting for your army or builders to finish.
Here's a list of ideas, I've also added the ones mentioned by others in this thread, I put the name of the contributor in square brackets after the idea. I've added a poll, thanks to Masterelite120 for the nudge (I'm using his categories from a parallel thread).
I'm not saying this has a priority over gameplay updates, I'd just like to collect some fun ideas. So please don't post "before they do this, I'd rather have..."-type of comments, just fun ideas for animations in and around our villages. For those worried about CPU/lag issues on older devices, let's assume there's an on/off switch for animations in the settings.
So here are the ideas so far:
ARCHER TOWER
- Archers on towers sit and play cards together (when there's two or more)
- Archers on towers do "rock, paper, scissors" once in a while (loser looks grumpy)
- At random, archers in the archer towers will lazily fire arrows at birds that fly overhead [by AlphaSite]
WIZARD TOWER
- Wizards on towers do magic tricks, e.g. levitate once in a while, juggle fireballs, do a one-armed handstand etc.
- Wizards on towers fry birds flying [by Masterelite120]
- Wizard on tower reads spell book [by Cristian]
AIR DEFENSE
- Air defence puts on a simultanious fireworks display as all villagers, builders, troops etc. stare at the display [by SleazyDemon]
ARMY CAMP
- Army camps might have the troops sitting around in a circle, drinking, laughing; or maybe polishing weapons etc.
- Occasionally (assuming troops eat and drink around the campfires), 2 barbarians will get in a sparring match, with everyone else looking on [by AlphaSite]
- When you have a dragon in your army camp it may sometimes eat the pig [by Apple7943]
- Add the cow and chicken to the above idea
- Golems sometimes split into golemites, look at each other and scratch their heads before doing a body slam and becoming whole again [by FlyingGolem1337]
- Witch summons skeletons that fight each other [by FlyingGolem1337]
- Dragon and Balloon land and pick up Tier 1 troops and take them for a ride [by FlyingGolem1337]
- Valkyries start spinning like a tornado, end up with dizzy animation [by FlyingGolem1337]
LABORATORY
- When a troop is being upgraded in the lab, it could be seen doing push-ups or some sort of exercise outside the lab.... [by Ganjaperoni]
HEROES
- Yawn and stretch when they finish sleeping, maybe do a little exercise
- Hero king & queen have the hots for each other [by FlyingGolem1337]
- King & queen practice together, e.g. she shoots arrows, he blocks with sword [by FlyingGolem1337]
- Heroes swimming in / drinking from dark elixir tank [by FlyingGolem1337]
- Archer Queen shoots arrows into forest [by Buttload]
- Archer queen tries to shoot a real X-Bow, recoil sends her flying back [by FlyingGolem1337]
CIVILIANS (village ladies plus maybe future gents and children)
- Gardening (cutting/watering plants etc.)
- Tending to defenses (loading cannons, carrying bundles of arrows to towers etc.)
- Bringing food to army camps
- Musicians for the camps
- The women and random villagers could be sunbathing at the beach [by Ganjaperoni]
- Villiage women and off-duty builders occasionally go and splash around at the beach [by AlphaSite]
- Villagers pour elixir and DE into X-Bows and Inferno Tower [by BlueWaffleBoy]
- Villagers climb into mortars and get shot onto Townhall roof [by FlyingGolem1337]
- Villagers clinb onto X-Bow, get spun around and look dizzy [by FlyingGolem1337]
- Villagers flirt with another, man sweeps woman off her feet, kisses her [by FlyingGolem1337]
- Villager walks around village, a spring trap misfires, and she is sent up into the air and back onto the ground with a thud. She sits up and rubs her head, and there are stars circling her head [by Masterelite120]
- Same as above, only with bomb. And if a Healer is in the army camp, it would come and heal the villager, who thanks the Healer before continuing on [by Masterelite120]
- A mayor, who is fat, has a pointy hat and lives in the town hall [by fredrik]
DURING ATTACK/DEFENSE
- When you attack someone, instead of the builders and the women just running inside the TH, the builders run around, pick up all the women, and carry them into the TH. [by AlphaSite]
- When melee troops such as barbs begin attacking the TH, the women throw flower pots through the windows, at their heads, to no avail [by AlphaSite]
- As everyone rushes to the Town Hall, one of the villagers trips and falls face-first into mud! She gets up shakes the mud off her face, and then continues to flee to the Town Hall! [by Masterelite120]
- If builders are working when attacked, they throw their Hammer into the air when the first troop is placed. The Hammer hits them in the head and they get dizzy with stars around their head. They shake their head quickly, and continue fleeing to Town Hall [by Masterelite120]
INFERNO TOWER
- Inferno Tower has a leak of lava, wizards fix it with freeze spells [by FlyingGolem1337]
TROOP DONATIONS
- When you donate troops to another village, the troops would be taken from the camps in shakles and chains and led to the bottom corner. When donated troops, the troops arrive in the same way. This adds a bit of a darker feel to the game [by AlphaSite]
- When you donate troops, they salute and shout: "Yes sir!", then run away to the bottom corner [by xoda97]
GENERAL
- Animals poking in and out of the woods (rabbits, deer, etc.)
- Shark Shadows and other stuff in the ocean [by Buttload]
- Goblins occasionally come out of forest to look at your base [by Buttload]
- Mermaids in the ocean sometimes sitting on the rocks and then go back to swimming [by DragonX101]
