What is Most Annoying in COC?

Re-made poll with a few more additions....

Please note that these are annoying things that are IN-GAME, not on the forums or anywhere else. No offence is intended to Supercell. If anything, this is good feedback as for what to attack in the next update, or just as some harmless fun :)

Please try to keep this thread afloat by commenting on what you voted for, as poll votes do not refresh the thread in the list. Please do not think of this as asking for bumps, but please understand what I am getting at.

The fact that there isn't any clanwars or more integrated clan positions.
Other than that i'm quite happy

Because I am interested in MOST annoying, the one that absolutely pushes your buttons, so to speak.

how about unlureable clan castle troops, then when it triggers, its full of wizards </3

Builder lag for sure.

I can't stand hoppers, but for me it's when I see people who put teslas and all their traps around a TH just so you can't snipe it....god it annoys me so much and every time they do it I just totally blitz their entire base and take everything I can from them when usually I'd of just moved on.

Haha I actually smirked reading this (first time for everything) I like the fact you seemingly 'punish' them for putting their teslas near their Town Hall.

When I try to deploy my archers or barbs but accidentally put down my clan castle full of wizards. Nothing supercell can do to change this- it just really grinds my gears :/

Dont they want their free 12hr shield?

Random giant bombs in the most unexpected places. Just got caught the other day when my archers were heading over to a builder hut in the corner instead of joining the rest of the gang fighting to the centre.

The most annoying thing is when I have my tier one troops attacking someone's base. Everything is going fine, I'm happy, my goblins are happy, then BOOM!, Mortar kills them all. Little skeletons floating into heaven....
Same thing goes with the clan castle full of wizzies.

I voted for the hidden teslas near the townhall. People just do it for the replay laughs. This guy I attacked once had a design that made the townhall looked semi-unprotected. I deployed all my archers to snipe the townhall, and instead of going for townhall it went around the townhall. Teslas popped up and mortars shot. All my archers were gone in less than a minute.

49% in a raid is the most annoying thing for me because it directly affects me and my progress. Most of the other options are vague and can affect different people based on their temperament.

Maxing out your storages when you're gonna have a free builder in 2 days.

49 percent for sure(99 is worse though)

I think 99% is better because you at least win the raid in cups and get all the resources. The 99% wins with 1 star is kind of annoying.

My Balloons massing together(full Hitpoints), heading towards an AD, finally 2 Airbombs appear and shot down all of my balloons. I wasn't able to get a lot of gold or elixir but I was able to get 567 DE.

I remember when i was still a noob at coc attacking and never checked the corners. I went straight in for the base and demolished it with 15 secands left i had 1 star 99% my troops started heading to the corner and i say th WITH NO TROOPS LEFT it was a 35 cup raid for 3 star and it would have got me the 1250 trophy achevment... I was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ off

I hate it when you have loads of Gold/Elixir and you can't spend it so it ends up being stolen...

I also hate it when im training troops and click the next butten and accidently start some spells

funny replays

4 level 7 teslas around a town hall. You send in some giants to take them out, triggers cc full of wizards. Then archers used to kill the wizards trigger 2 lvl 40 heroes that come and destroy your army. Equals -30 trophies :'(

49% in a raid when hunting and hoppers.

imop i hate when i loose connection during a big raid... would have broken my phone if i didn't have a case

When a town hall is outside and all the teslas are there protecting it. It makes me use more troops and just annoys me.

The only thing that annoys me on that list is the 49%. I suppose you could add cheap shields at the top of the leaderboards...

Other people seem to dislike builder lag too, though I don't mind it.

The time lag scam. You missed that in your poll. It is by far the most annoying for my sleep pattern and/or game efficiency.

Time lag fits under the 'Waiting a long time for an upgrade' category, as it depends on how you interpret it.

Looking at one of my clan mates have a exposed town hall, trap it with all bombs including 3 giant bombs and teslas.... All so the attacker at their base would have to use 10 more archers..... Just let the guy get the shield and not use 80k protecting it for an extra 30 seconds!!!! :mad::mad:

Farming is is about saving gold... Not using it to ♥♥♥♥ me off.

Uh, no. There's quite a difference.

It's not just upgrades. It does indeed apply to building and laboratory upgrades, but also to troop and spell creation, clan castle request timer, resource production and hero sleep time. It's a large scale scam to get people to gem these things when otherwise they wouldn't; for example by pushing upgrade consistently closer to -and then over- someone's bed time. Many unaware players will simply spent a few gems so that the builder doesn't stay idle all night.

It's not long builds that annoy me, not at all. That's just part of the game. The elaborate scam that induces lag in everything (except shields) that uses time in this game, that's what I find by far the most annoying in CoC.

Since the last upgrade elix has been scarce to non existent. Being offered less than 50k of each 20 times in a row...

It seems you need a little more education on this issue then :P

In fact, everyone is experiencing it, it's just that some happen to notice it and some don't.
Just try to write down the times when you start an upgrade, then check back to that when it's finished. You'll notice that it's done in fact later than intended, how much so depending on the build time total. 1-day upgrades get like 15-20 minutes added, but for week-long or two week upgrades you'll easily see a few hours added.
You can also easily see it when training troops. For example, try starting to train a giant and press your stopwatch at the exact same time. Then do a few things that force the game to reload your base, such as rebooting the app, returning from visiting an other player's village or returning from an attack (even from a single player mission). Every time your village gets loaded (even by other players) roughly 4-5 seconds get added to all things that use time. You'll find that the giant you were timing can take as much as 3 minutes to actually complete, rather than 2.

It's up to you whether you care about it or not, but saying that you don't experience it is simply incorrect. I hope you'll add time lag as an option to your poll, it's very relevant and easily one of the most annoying things in CoC once you know what you're dealing with.

I guess I'm not that hardcore of a player to notice it, as I tend to be quite lazy, but I see how this affects you. Of course I do know of the issue, and certaintly it has caused a lot of controversy on the forums. However, as you were stating about the giant training, I would like to ask of your opinion:

Is it the logging off that is causing a small time lapse or is it intentional?

Anyway, regardless of the reply, let's get back on-topic, and once again thank you all for yours votes and opinions :)

If you had builder lag on your list I'd probably have voted. On the other hand, if you added "useless polls" or "outrageous contributions to Ideas & Future Requests sub forum", it would have been a difficult choice, even though these don't qualify according to the definitions specified by your original post. Any of those are not specifically aimed at you, compared to some of the recent polls over the last few days, this one is a real diamond.

It's definitely intentional by SC; they've been made aware of it for more than a year so it could (and should) easily have been fixed by now. It seems that the only reason it hasn't been is because it simply makes them money, which is why I called it a scam earlier. It's really the only accurate word for it in my opinion.

As for the technical details, it seems to be related to loading your village, which is not caused by logging off but rather by logging on. Additionally, your village is loaded when returning to it from a different village, so if you have a different village loaded because you were looking to attack/revenge it, because you were doing a goblin mission or simply because you were checking out someone else's village, you'll be affected when you return to your own. I'd expect it to happen when watching replays too, but haven't tested that yet. Actually, I'll test it right now lol

Edit:
For the test I started training a Dragon at 11:56:00am my time. Until noon (4 minutes later) I spent opening/closing replays. I opened the replay 17 times, instantly closing it every time after opening it. At noon, 4 minutes after starting to train the Dragon, it logically should say that it has 26:00 left; 4 minutes less than the 30 minutes it started at. Instead, it had 27:31 left, which means that 1 minute and 31 seconds of time were added in exactly 4 minutes. In these 4 minutes, my Dragon had only progressed its training of 2:29 worth of time. 91 seconds over 17 reloads, that's a little over 5 seconds lost every single time your village gets loaded. It's consistent with other test results we've had over various threads, and shows how quickly it adds up considering that the game reloads your village a ton for various different things.

Feel free to replicate it yourself. It only takes 4 minutes (or spend only two if you want to, you'll still notice it) and it'll be eye-opening once you realize how much of an impact this has on a game that ultimately has only 1 resource: time.

There have been numerous threads about this, I think one of the longest one was posted by ZachUVA or some other long-time forumer with a post count to prove it; can't be bothered to look it up right now. If memory serves, it was stated that the specific reason for the lag had not been pinpointed, but that it was related to when people attack your village or view it in the matchmaking que (i.e. the 30 seconds people have to either attack your base or hit next). There has been some mod input on this matter in several threads (now that I think about it, I think Steve actually made the thread, or some other thread on the same topic), and I personally have a hard time believing it being a deliberate scam, as you call it. Please correct me if I got the technical details wrong, preferably with sources to support your claims.

There's been a 50-page thread that Steve locked up with an excuse, now there's a new thread almost at the 10th page. In addition to those, there have been numerous smaller threads ever since the very start of the game throughout time and still continue to pop up. Supercell still claim that they don't know exactly what causes it and state that fixing it would take up their entire team for a long time. The first point is utter nonsense, the community have proven over and over that the various actions that cause a village to be reloaded are the cause. The second point is outside of my scope to give a definitive judgment on, but I find it extremely unlikely that it would take them long at all. Even if they can't fix it outright, they could make a workaround compensation by simply subtracting 5 seconds from each build/upgrade/training/cc /hero-sleep whenever a village is loaded. It's really that simple.

The poll should be check box instead of radio button, For me

- Not enuf loot found to attack while farming even after 200 nexts (not in your list)
- Waiting for a long time for an upgrade
- Builder Lag

As a farmer, I had to pick the penalty loot. To be honest, not much annoys me, apart from myself doing stupid things like dropping 4 rage on the corner of a base where there is nothing left to take out. Maybe dropping my clan castle troops by accident, or dropping a troop where next is, or the opposite, find a great raid, go to drop a troop but instead hit next by accident lol.

So yes, as I said, loot penalty is probably what annoys me the most, but doesn't annoy me so much as I get stressed thoroughly over it. I just can't help but think "You lucky bugger" when a TH7 in our clan posts a replay of them finding a town with 700k+ each resource :P

Yeah this..it's not a proper poll without it...or an 'other category'.

My biggest peeve isn't on the list either: the fact that "playing" the game consists mainly of hitting the NEXT button.
The game should be called "NEXT", not CoC.

Without a doubt, for me, it's losing at 49% when pushing. The worst of these was when 8 cups from master 2, which was my goal. Was at 49% and Archer Queen has literally one more hit left to kill Town Hall and then died by an arrow from Archer tower that seemed well out of range (why does that seem to happen sometimes, uncanny archer tower range that is?)

That would have given me a two star and more than enough cups to break 2800 but instead I lose 30 cups. That was the end of my push that time.

I think searching forever to find good loot is the most annoying. It really annoys me searching forever to find a decent raid:/

It's a shame, because this is one missed opportunity to spread the information about the TIME LAG "bug". You should definitely add it to the poll.

But your thread is flawed without it, hence why a number of different posters feel it is missing.

Having one archer killing the lab with 49% and just when you're about to kill it time runs out and you get demoted a league. This happened to me one time.

Global chat is so bad I just plain ignore it.



However, I should specify. Hoopers that want elder, dragon donations, etc.

When you try to tap the next button, miss by a whisker and drop a Barb. :mad:

Why does the game insist on pre-selecting troops?

What no all of the above? (Except gemmers.. The person may be great, just them using gems doesn't make them a jerk.)

this in global alot, people getting high an mighty about a purple shield, good for them but they can save the arrogance for there parents an see how far that gets em lol,in saying that tho low th purples get alot of hate in global lol i know i was one at th4 but until i said what i said to some of the high th, low th purple haters they were all nice to me lol because i wasnt about look at me look me more towards questing for gems.(was really aiming for black shield for the 1k gems) it looked silly in clan cause i was at top and lvl 100's were golds etc lol,but clan was understanding about my goals an feed me up on cc never had witches let alone maxed troops and things like that b4 lol was awesome. I was thinking that as well, I would have preferred to vote against Loot Bonus but so be it. This is close enough.

Two of the games biggest frustrations are linked directly to the loot bonus. Inability to make serious loot post TH7 and DE lightning.

Why do we get punished for progressing so much?

Maybe its due to the fact that SC want to keep you playing for longer, as if a th10 was to get loot of a th7 it would he much more quicker to max out, then you might quit the game after that achievement. I agree that th10 needs more loot then anyone; but its just one of those things which you need to stay firm and grind.

The only one I only consider as annoying is Lightning on DE

I was tempted to pick farmers, but people wouldn't understand what I mean. Technically, farming is what is ruining the game, but it isn't really the farmers' faults. If it was possible to advance your base effectively while trophy hunting, the game would be ideal. Therefore farming's existence is what is wrong with the game.

I said I was tempted, which is why I actually picked Loot Penalty. But that isn't the only problem.
