Is there any reason why I can only connect to HayDay at home? I have tried on numerous occasions to farm when I am out having coffee (this has become the level of my addiction that I want to farm even when I am out doing other things!!!!) abut it always fails to connect. I don't just want to be a closet farmer in the safety of my own home. I want to take my farming out into the community.
You must have a wifi connection or use your phone's 3G/4G cellular data function.
If you are in a public place that may have open wifi, open Settings on your device. Tap Wi-Fi and choose any connection that does not have a "lock" icon on it. The locked ones require passwords. Hospitals and coffee houses, etc. will usually have open access wifi so it will automatically connect when you ask it to.
To use your data plan, open Settings, tap General, tap Cellular, and make sure it is turned ON. Your data plan will be charged for the connection. So, if you have a limited data plan, make sure to turn the Cellular back to OFF every time you finish playing HD.
Just be aware also, that while you can access the wifi of some small businesses, it frequently fades in and out. It's best to keep your Cellular data turned Off in such places and go through the hassle of turning it on and off again, rather than thinking you're using their open wifi, it shuts down, and then your data plan gets charged without you knowing it until you get the bill.
i have a few friends who play at Mc Donalds using their wifi. I play at the hospital and Dr. Office. The hospital wifi has a form that comes up before I can connect so you may have to open safari to agree to the conditions to use their wifi and then go back to HayDay. I play in the Chemo room. Makes the time go by much faster that's for sure. Some of my friends play at work on their company wifi. That's a little risky so find out if your company allows you to log into their network first. people can get fired for doing stuff like this even if it is lunch time. There is no reason you have to stay at home, but like Cricks said you need a network connection to play because your game is stored on Supercells servers
I carry my own hotspot wifi with me when I go out. It's my backup if I need it. Yes, my addiction is that bad.
Thats how I burned through my 70G preloaded 3G sim in two months, since my employer pays for a new card I just blame it on skype video calls.Quote:

I have a wifi only iPad but I will use my iPhone as a hot spot when I have Tom and need to be out of the house for a long time. It was easy to set up.
Thanks fellow hey dayers/farmers, how do we refer to ourselves. Perhaps I will keep my farming at home, it may take over my life completely if I can be mobile with it.

I mainly farm at home or at my children's homes but if I am on a trip etc I 'tether' my iPad to my phone and use it that way, being mindful of the data usage.
Hi Gymgirl - how do you tether your iPad to your phone? I've tried to farm at work, but can't connect even though they have wifi. I'm off on holiday for a week shortly, and the thought of not being able to take care of my farm while I'm away is not good. Perhaps this tethering you speak of is the Force I need ....Quote:
