I currently have a defensively max th9 with a lv21 aq and a lv11 bk I know bk is underleveled but I like the queen more I also have max troops except Golem and valks and I have all lv9 walls. I was wondering when I should upgrade to th10 when I get a lv30 hero ? Or when I reach completely max if I don't completely max will it harm me I th10?

A lot of people here would say go when you have either 30/30 heroes or all L10 walls. If you don't want to grind that long, I went at 20/25 and about 1/4 of my walls at L10 and I'm doing fine. DE seems to come a bit easier at TH10 (I've noticed a ton more dead bases in Masters since I moved up), so doing heroes then is fine too, IMO.
The right answer is when you want to. There are advantages to maxing everything, plus less to max when you hit TH10. Buy if you’re bored and it affects your interest in playing, or there are things at TH10 that you really want, then upgrade.
Choice is yours, Chief. You’re playing your base, not us.
Max your lab first. And definitely get BK upgraded to at least level 20Quote:

I'm suggesting had 20/20 heroes at minimum before you get to TH 10, Hero is a fundamental aspect in TH 10 and 11.
Lv 11 BK won't survive that long when facing TH 10 point defenses.
Depends on your choice. It varies from person to person. Maxing everything especially Heroes will be a huge advantage. Th10 has just 10 levels per hero, whereas TH9 has 30. Though lvl 30+ upgrades need more DE and time, I find it as a lesser grind. Also there are these books to help.

Try to get the BK to 15 & AQ to 25 to balance the equaties in between them.
I recommend 2 strategies in th10
1)In th10,stick to a easy strategy (one where u won't need heroes in Crystal 1) to farm when ur AQ is upgrading.
2)Skip wars till both heroes are on.
If ur ready for these 2 strategies, then upgrade on 15/25
Edit: if ur in fwa and planning to stay there for a while DONT WORRY THEN. HIT Upgrade. 11/21 is fine. If you farm low
I maxed everything out, walls and heroes, and all troops. It really helped me do better at th10, and I didn’t do new defence buildings and stayed a .5 for ages, pretty much until I went to th11. It really helped in war
but from lvl 25 heroes, you should be fine. Walls are a nightmare, but I found it easier to get res at th9 when maxed than a early th10
If you are in a fwa, go now. De is easier to farm at th10, extra drills. You don’t need maxed dark troops for war. Have fun.Quote:

If you are in a FWA clan, war has no factor for your upgrade path, as long as lab and builders are always busy, you can only develop your base as fast as the lab and builders work.Quote:

The "correct" answer is whenever you feel like it, but more realistically it depends on what you want out of the game itself.
Are you just playing casually for fun in your free time, dont take it too seriously, and want to unlock everything? Go ahead and move up.
Are you a war monger? Stay put and max everything out, heros make a huge difference and taking the time to learn all the standard th9 3 star strategies helps immensely as a th10 war player when you get there
Are you a more serious casual type? You enjoy war every now and then but not constantly, would like to be able to have some decent success so you don't look like a noob, but don't have the full dedication to become a top tier war type? Move up when you have 20/20 heros, it's a good balance. Not as strong as they could be but not terrible either.

Tbh with this new engineering bases era, th9 is simply dead.
Ur AQ is 21 and thats all u need for an ok queen walk, bk isnt too crucial in ur attacks, he is important dont get me wrong, but not that much.
I suggest u go to th10 now and there u can stay for a couple of months upgrading your stuff.
If you are a main war player, dont drop the new xbow or inferno towers, only the point defences or not even those, just focus on your war troops. Try maxing a single army that you will use and then do whatever u want "example..if u want bowlers..max out ur jump spell/bowlers first and on...
But if war isnt ur priority, just drop every single thing and start from there. And max out ur farming troops ( the troops u farm with usually). Depending on your trophies or farm style.
Farming as a th 10 is so easy, u can drop down to 1300-1800 and barch.

First of...where do you currently farm....and with what troops? What do you use in war? How good is your clan at war? Are many of them in transition as well?
My mini is a TH9 working on finishing walls and heros (27 and 28). My lab is completely done. I currently stay in crystal and use only elixer based armies and only hit bases with 2k or more DE. If you go higher, you will face harder bases and you will get hit harder. Right now about 1 in 5 defenses, will they get all my DE....the rest are under 500 DE stolen. I upgrade my BK normally and save my book of hero's for my AQ upgrades....this allows you to keep AQ walk when farming. THANK goodness for book of heros!!!!! it's making this grind much better.
Frankly, farming at TH9 is much easier than farming at early TH10. (cause we can still hit th8's, th9s, and baby th10's for good loot). go to TH10 and it's TH9s, TH10s, and TH11s.
Another reason for maxing your heros or atleast getting to 25 and 25...is that early TH10 is very very very elixer driven (TH11 even more so with the GW). You can't really focus on all 3 resources anymore....it's more like find a good base with 2 of the 3. Not having to upgrade your heros for a while and focusing on your lab (elixer and de troops) helps a whole lot. Plus you can still war as both hero's are up.
The grind at TH9 with hero's is the worst in the game...but if you get to at least 25 or if you get to 30...it makes it sooooo much easier at TH10 and TH11.
Also...ignore what people are saying about not building the new defenses. yes it will keep you lower in the list for war (list is based on def weight...not your war weight). But a 9.5....really has the war weight of a mid TH10. So you are helping your self but hurting your clan...making the people right above you face harder people.

I have a mini th10.. i fill up my elixir storages upto max in 1.5-2h boost just using archers at trophy count 1300-1700 from dead bases. I lose most coz i just drop empty the collectors amd leave.
The only punishment in farming is when u go to th11...
Its even easier as a th10 to farm de than as a th9 when u decide to focus on de farming.
25 heros and ax troops will work fine.
I waited until 30/30, about half lavas. I'm glad I did the 30/30. Walls don't mean anything.
But at the same time you'll be fine if you upgrade now... All of this type of talk is overrated imo.

Didn't notice much difference when I made the jump. Never had any problem farming de for heroes at 9. I went to 10 with everything maxed except a bk l27. Now queen 40 / king 35. Same army. Gobs, giants, a few archers and wall breakers. 4 healers for queen walk if I need them. It all comes down to personal preference.Quote:

There is one thing to consider though: At the moment we have 11 town hall levels. Why not enjoy every level to its fullest, and only upgrade when maxed out? I am a avid farmer and I am able to work all my builders 24/7 what I am planning is to achieve the best offense as fast as possible. My strategy always involved waiting to hit a bottleneck. Namely, I upgrade when I start wasting a resource. For example, walls and lab all done, so no where to put elixir or walls and defenses all done, so no where to put gold. In this, I stay at the TH until I find it prudent to make the jump. I also made a conscious effort to balance my upgrades so if I would see something falling behind, I would concentrate on on that resource more (usually DE upgrades). That said, theres no wrong way to do it, but the more you do now, the “easier TH10 will be.
