A lot of people have been telling me that when your around level 7and 8 walls, you can stop because it's really not that worth it anymore. Should I listen to them? Or continue to max it all out?

A lot of people have been telling me that when your around level 7and 8 walls, you can stop because it's really not that worth it anymore. Should I listen to them? Or continue to max it all out?
ive just got lvl 7 walls and think its just too much time to go to the next one without gemming and the rest of my stuff is maxed so i just upgraded to the next town hall.
The reason why a lot of people stop after level 8 is because:
1) it's starting to get extremely expensive at 1mil per level 9 wall, and
2) when you're this far into the game, you are likely raiding at a trophy range above 2000 and you are likely getting attacked more often than not by flying units or hogs, which negate your walls regardless of level
My thoughts are that you never know what updates Supercell will come out with in the future, and with all the complaints from players expressing how they are feeling shafted for putting so much energy into their high level walls with little to no return on investment in the form improved defense for their bases.
I will continue to try to max my walls hoping that one day it'll pay off. I'm at TH9 with almost all level 8 (missing about 8-9 still) and plan to at least get them all to level 9 and maybe get the core upgraded to level 10 walls by the time I'm ready for a TH10 upgrade, just my estimate for now. Maxing lvl 8 skull walls for TH8 is really not too difficult, so you should consider doing so. Maxing lvl 10 walls for TH9 is a whole other story (lvl 9 walls are 1mil per, 10 walls are 3mil per).
Depends on your goal ! If your goal is to be a great farmer , then go for walls !
if you want to max out your defense fast, then walls is not something you should do right away .
My basic rule of thumb i tell people is before upgrading your town hall you should have...
Th7 - pink wall
Th8 - purple walls
Th9 - black walls

So would stopping after the level 8 black walls at Th 8 be ok? Cause 1m gold for one wall really doesn't seem worth it for me.
I'd say after level 8 walls, only upgrade walls if you have extra gold. don't make it your goal or even stop an upgrade for a wall or have idle builders to upgrade wallsQuote:

Only upgrade walls if you have all the builders working and have still gold left. ( or.. Upgrade walls when you trophy push.. So ypu have no gold.. So will be attacked less frequent)
Upgraded defenses do much more for defending your village.
if you are farming for walls ( and gold ) ... Remember that is best done at TH 8 or TH9 ... Farming for gold for wall upgrade at TH10 is difficult....so make sure you have your walls where you want them to be before upgrading.
Pink walls before moving to TH 9 is a good idea and purple walls before TH10 as well.
walls are just a way to dump the excess gold for me, i'm moving to legoland now:cool:.
if you cant farm in great excess of what builders use, then you shouldnt sit on maxed defenses for a couple of month with zzzz builders.
besides they are more for a fear factor and looks then defense.
Maxed walls are the sign of a serious farmer. I do hope Supercell will rebalance the game towards investment in walls having more value. When you are attacked by heavy troops and they labour away on your lava walls, it's fantastic to watch and makes the effort worthwhile. Do it if you can...
It's all down to personal preference, I'd at least try and get level 7 walls though so they're not one-shotted by wallbreakers :)
If you can you should but can you max all the walls of each town hall? Just do it and don't let people tell you otherwise because upgraded walls will get you far less serious attacks which is good :P
Bases with max walls are even more likely to have maxed defenses, well designed layout, and full cc.
