Has anyone reached Master/Champion leagues without using gems?

as a th9 with half my upgrades finished i got to master league 3 got my 5th builder and dropped again...while pushing i had 3-4 def down and still managed to win a couple defences...even one against 4 archers and 18 witches or so + heroes....best win ever....havent laught so much thrue my coc journey as when they stumbelled at my giant bomb:D well atm im a th10 and getting to master league is no big deal anymore...im going for champion on our clans next push in may.

Those 92 gems were gathered by cutting trees so I don't call this "gemming".

Playing 4 hours each evening, using 20 gems each day, I might get to champion one day. But I prefer to go there once I'm TH10. From 2300-2500, I won 46 T on defense. I'm sure with TH10, I would have gotten more than that.

I think the spell boost is mandatory to go up. Since you need 3-4 spells to win. Nobody can wait 2 hours online just to gain 5-10 trophies. It's just a waste of time.

And by the way, from 2400-2600 I only found one exposed TH. So for the TH7 wanting to go to champion, good luck. And I also found a TH7 in crystal 1. Nice 100% :) Thanks for helping us ;)

tho, there is some th7 in crystal 3 and 2 too
probably snipping to get the achievement tho... i tried it last month but only got to 2513

Just made it to masters yesterday as a Town Hall 8. It took me about a month, town hall sniping most of the way. At the end I ran into some TH7s and was able to 3 star them. It is so rewarding - 52 more gems until my final builder's hut!

Of course. Most people don't use gems when pushing. To masters is easy, to champion is a bit harder but totally doable.
