His point is more that most mod gasps who comment say something along the lines of "come on it isnt a big deal" or "your still getting a huge war bonus quit yer bellyaching" or something to that general effect. Gets a little eye rolling to see it in every rant thread after a while, even in cases like this where I fully agree with your side.

But that isn’t what he said. He said mods and gasps see no problem with it, when multiple posts have clearly stated otherwise. However, you are correct that many have pointed out it isn’t a big deal because, in the opinion of many, it isn’t a big deal. Generally, you will see those “not a big deal” posts, at least from me, in response to people who go overboard posting about how this is a huge deal, a great big conspiracy by SC, a terrible loss, etc. as though this is actually something very important. Those who think it is a huge deal are welcome to jump into the debate and justify their position rather than just posting something negative about SC stealing from them and then leaving the conversation.

His point, i am assuming, while not well articulated, was that game specialists and mods can be predicted to enter these anger threads trying to diminish the opinions and feelings of those in the thread. While Im fully on board that in this case Its kinda ridiculas, but in other threads its not and the same pattern emerges.

Again, the fact that there is a pattern is not a big deal Iether, my first point is to try explain what he percieves, and my second is to say that i think it just makes people angrier, as their is a weak inference that people are being silly, and by extension may have silly judgement.

I started reading through the thread again and got to these posts of mine at around #175. I gave up after that. In the 170ish posts before that I saw a LOT of players telling others that it wasn’t a big deal, not to complain, etc. and only one such post from a gasp that would fall in that category and his post was politely stated. Player after player telling other players not to complain, but not from gasps or mods. Then I offered these two opinions around the same time and my opinion has stayed the same throughout.

I think it is good for mods, gaps and other players to try to bring some perspective to posts that go too far suggesting something is a huge deal when it really isn’t, or at least to state their opinion that it isn’t. The other players can certainly explain why they think it is a huge deal. I don’t see that here at all, though. If those players are angry because they think their stated opinion is justified, why not try to justify it?

I think there's a big self-selection about who posts, however. It's only the players who've got upset who post. That's not necessarily how all players feel. I happened to see on one of the discord servers today a few comments that were fiercely critical of the players complaining about the quality/quantity of the free stuff they were receiving. Players who don't agree with these sort of rants often just won't post. Whereas badges sometimes feel the need to act as a voice of reason. So there may be a large middle ground, and/or people not behaving according to the perceived split who simply don't post.

It's unfortunate, but I'm not sure it can be avoided, and part of it is just observation bias. I was pretty critical of SC in the threads about the maintenance break conflicting with the last event end and the timer in the completed games screen seeming to give a much longer time to claim rewards than was really the case. But in those threads it was mostly regular forumers defending SC and blaming the player who'd lost out. But I'm not sure anyone notices when that happens. But if a GASP does happen to be defending SC against the mob it stands out.

There's nothing in the GASP rules about saying nice things about SC and we certainly don't always. OTOH it's also true that those who believe all SC staff are actually alien invaders from the planet Zotar and every SC action is part of an evil plot to overthrow mankind... well they probably wouldn't end up on the blue/orange badge teams anyway.

Becaue they think that you guys are agents If supercell based on the way you act. I dont agree, i think Its more of the self selection theory, but the general pattern that emerges in every rant thread (that even Onyx has quesrioned describing game specialists foming in against the current with tiggery enthusiasm in that case) makes it look like you guys are biased. Again i dont think thats the case, i do believe you act independantly and are not agents of supercell.

i struggle to belive you dont see what i mean in general, nor am i convinced you dont agree that that is indee the impression given.

again Its not a big deal, and the conversation is now digressing from the point of the thread. So Ill end it here from my side, not to be rude, but more because i dont want to strat any further from thread topic.
