TH 8 Farming Range

Hey guys. I'm having issues with farming at this point. I'm using 10 giants + archers currently and plan to move to BAM once I get my archers upgraded to level 5, however at my current level (1400 or so) I've been having issues. My giant/archer combo doesn't allow me too far into bases, I mainly have to search for inactive bases with full collectors, I've been running into issues though. At TH 7 I easily found 100k+ bases regularly, now I've been having serious issues. I'm lucky to even find 100k bases. I'm not sure if it's when I'm raiding, since I'm pretty much a night owl it stands to reason more people would be inactive at night so more somewhat active bases would show up in searches, or if I'm just at an awful range. I've heard everywhere between below 200, to 1100-1300 and even up to 1700 for TH 8 farming ranges, but I was hoping to get a good consensus with this thread before I start pushing or dropping trophies.
So any knowledgeable people mind giving me some advice, please? :D

I'm th8 right now and I farm up to gold II all the way down to silver I. It doesn't seem to matter where I go it's all the same. I make 2 mil gold per hour anywhere in that range using BAM. You just have to be patient when you pick bases. I hit the next button a ton, I've hit it 100 times before to find a good raid but all that time your hitting the next button your troops are still cooking so just keep hitting next until you find a 150k collector raid.

So.
When I was a TH8 and I wanted 6-10mil gold a day, I farmed at 1550-1600 trophy range and I used BAM (Barbs, Archers, Minions) and it worked great, if you want to farm Dark Elixir, go to 1900 trophy range.

I came up from Silver 1 because I've been having horrible raids so far. I'm fine with the patience, but it's taking an absurd amount of time to find any decent raids. Currently I'm not sure 2mil gold an hour would be viable for me purely because of how often I'm searching rather than raiding. Even a 100k raid is taking 20-30 minutes for me to find. By the time I find one, my army is completely done training. I can literally only raid twice in an hour max because of the time it takes to find a base.

In my experience it is hard to narrow it down to just 100 trophys. I have had times where 1300s were giving out loads of loot. Then for a while it was in the 1400s and that is where I had my biggest loot at 1mil combined. But i have seen it good in the 1500 and 1600s. I think it should be called fishing instead of farming because just like fishing the hot spots seem to move around. Good luck!

i agree 100%, yesterday I was at 1100-1200 and I was hitting 100k raids that I could take out left and right, then they dissapeared, then I went to 1300 and found another, then 1400 and found another. just had my largest DE raid ever at 1457 cups. Ive never pushed to crystal so I dont know what its like up there, but because of my amazing raid Im going to stay around the 1500 cup range for a while and see if I can get it to repeat. but I agree you just have to get lucky, there is no hot spot for good raids, you just gota get lucky

stay in silver 1 i promise you thats how I got where I am now

You wont be earning 2mil an hour whilst pressing next 100 times ;)

I never understand how people claim to have raids of 2 million per hour.
Lets say you have 4 barracks all maxed at TH 8.
If you follow the Giant/Healer model of army your army takes at leat 20 mins to train.
If you follow brab/arch/goblin or BAM or whatever low cost army, you are not going to get your army trained before 15 mins. So:

1. For the first model you are training them thrice an hour
2. For the second model you are training them 4 times an hour.

I am assuming you are superman and take no time in searching a base and raiding.
so again:

1. For the first model you are raiding thrice an hour (which makes average loot of 666 k )
2. For the second model you are raiding 4 times an hour. (which makes average loot to be of 500 k )

At any trophy range, how feasible it is to get 666k and 500 k at ay point of day??? This is absurd. Also keep in mind I haven't considered the searching and battling time.
Those who wanna argue that raiding and troops training can be done parallely need to keep in mind that raiding is only for 2.5 minutes during which your army camps get the feed from barracks.

If you don't cash out your whole troop load, and you don't care about trophies, then it can occur.
I sent in 6 archers that gained me 300K+ gold plus some Elix, and Dark.. it took 1 min.. I lost 19 trophies ( I think I was 1700s..) my next raid was for 180k but I used nearly all the troops so I could get some Dark plus a few trophies..

4min of raiding for 400K+ resource! (Gold that is) now this rate cannot be sustained, but this is how people (like me atleast) can boast the 1.5-2mil/hr on good days. and in the right range. you never know how many dead bases or easy access layouts you will be granted in a session. but sometimes the loot pours in.. other times it drips. (that is when I hunt the Dark) Elix is almost never a problem

TH8 is just below TH7 for raid potential per/hr IMO.

Im th8 and researched farming ranges and found 1300 to be the best but before that i found over 200k of each every battle (this was at 1200-1300) when i de farm i go about 1400-1600 that works well. I hope this helped and keep clashing!
