· Moonlight nights. Night and day should shift on a regular basis, but maybe with days being a greater majority of the time. Such as, 10 hour nights, and 14 hour days, or something like that. Nights are a dangerous time to attack other players because more traps lurk in the darkness. For example:
- There could be the choice of hiding a deadly snake in trees and shrubs, but only one allowed in each. These snakes have the capability of killing any type of troop with its poisonous venom, except for the heavily armored pekka, but especially go for the giants.
- You can have the choice of setting past tomb stones from previous battles as deadly skeletal attackers. When a troop gets near enough, the skeleton can raise itself out, and charge the incoming army either alone or with a large group. These will be weak, but they can easily distract the enemy.
- Another night trap is the ground breaking death hole. Only at night, you can have one trap where the ground will open into a deep lava pit the size as a big bomb (four squares). It will take a second for all the ground to crumble from underneath. Once the trap is visible, troops will find a path around it, even if it means going through a wall. This will not affect air units.
· Rain! Rain will bring many pleasures as well as un-pleasures. The sea level will rise with the abundance of rain, bringing many logs to the shoreline, which are removable of course. But, seldemly, something great might wash to shore, like a treasure chest (holding 100,000 G / 100,000 E / and 1,000 DE). These treasure chests will be more expensive to remove, like 25,000 gold or so. Rain will also be an inconvenience when attacking. If it is storming, then there is a chance of lightning strikes doing damage to anything on the map, even air units. There is a 50/50 chance of lightning being in your favor either way. Rain will also temporarily disable inferno towers. After the rain storm, there will be a rainbow, and if caught on time, you could have the option of tapping the end as it is passing through your village. This will allow you to free any builder from his job, automatically finishing the job he was on! This is very rare, since it is hard to tell when the rain will end, and the rainbow only lasts for a couple minutes. Furthermore, the end will only appear on the screen for about 30 seconds. Dont miss that chance!
· Wind! Wind will be about as common as rain, and can even come with any storm. Wind will affect mostly air units, speeding them up when going with the wind, and slowing them down when going against the wind. Balloons will have the most trouble, so it is wise not to use them in the wind. The wind will mostly blow in from the ocean, so build good air defense closer to the shoreline! Every now and then, a strong gust will blow in during a battle, destroying weak walls that are perpendicular to the wind direction, and blowing ground troops off target about 3-4 blocks. Wind will not affect giants, golems, pekka, or other new large beasts. Archers and archer towers also have a small chance of missing their target depending on the wind direction.
· If there is a winter, then snow storms would be totally awesome! Attacking in a snow storm will have consequences for both the defender and the attacker. Defense archer towers will become abandoned due to the freezing conditions walls will become 20% stronger with the ice that builds on it spring traps will become frozen in place, temporarily being disabled mortars and cannons do 10% more damage. Offense air units will be weakened slowly from time of deployment. When weakened too far, the air unit will fall to the ground and attack as a ground unit, but be very slow, this will not affect balloons or healers Pekka will increase its damage by 10%, for the chilled air increases his motivation and strength against the defense goblins will move at the speed of barbarians. General environment will include a snow-covered ground, troop foot prints, iced or ice burg water, snow blowing around the screen, snow-covered structure and defense units, and ice hanging on the walls.
Thanks for reading my ideas on weather. Please let me know how you like them, and maybe we can make something happen!
