Any of you experiencing an increase in "leeches" when it comes to the Clan Games? Only 3 in our clan hit the 3k mark, two reached the 2k mark and the rest 1k and lower...
It is annoying and I really don't want to kick members for not participating in the grind fest. Maybe Supercell should give leaders the ability to set the minimum required points / percentage for members to qualify for the rewards?
EDIT: By saying "leeches", I meant people doing one event just to qualify for the rewards ;)
How about join a clan that give you higher chance of achieving highest tier rewards?
While I agree that players should have minimum requirement to be eligible for rewards, but it seems the problem with your clan is inactiveness. I am not saying is wrong, but only 3 people hit the 3K mark and another 2 hit 2K mark, no matter how you slice it, you are not going to get current highest clan games rewards or even future clan games for that matter.
Imagine this scenario... Your clan needs just 300 points to reach max reward, but your set minimum threshold is 1,500 points.
A member of your clan has been busy this week, and he only has 200 points, and he simply doesn't have time to do another 1,300 points worth of challenges, in order to be eligible for rewards. He figures since he can't get rewards anyway, he won't push to complete the games. As a result your clan misses the next tier.
The truth is that every single point contributes toward the total. If you want that total to drop, by all means, limit your members' ability to collect the reward.

There have been many past threads making the same suggestion, and SC have officially replied saying that it does not fit with their vision of clan games as a team experience where all contributions help, no matter how small. So it’s effectively ruled out: such a change will not be made.
I am thinking of clan hopping for the next major clan games. Knock off the 3k with my account in the clan doing the clan games and jump back into my other clan. Or even set up a clan which 40 or so heavy clan gamers can jump in and out, between clan wars. After all, the clan games count for the clan you started the games in and you get rewards from that clan whether you are in it or out of it at the end of the games.

EG, if you are a serious war clan, anybody that doesn't use both attacks and follow the attacking plan will likely be kicked. So, first step is to decide what sort of clan you are/want to be. I am with TheConfuzed1 on this and that if you feel people are reaping the rewards from not putting in the effort then it is up to you, as the clan management team, to either motivate them to work harder for the clan or remove them from the clan. You say they are active in donating and war so it maybe a case where as a clan you have to decide if you're working at being a war clan or a clan games clan.Quote:

Our objectives? Win most of our wars and get most of the clan game rewards xD. We're trying to hit the balance between a good war clan and a good farming clan, nothing too serious. Members not attacking at all are warned or kicked depending on their status, the same goes for request / donate ratio and how active a member is. In a 50 memebers clan, 1k from each should be enough..
It's all about Clan Management. I myself only reached about 1200 points this Games as I had a busy weekend.
Some members apologised in chat about their own lack of points as they were also busy.
We encourage each other in Clan Games and War, and realise that sometimes we do mess up war attacks, and sometimes we just can't commit the time to grind out the points individually.
Persistent 'leeches' can always be an issue, but as others have suggested already, it's down to Clan Management to avoid this.

All those 'leechers' points have all contributed to the overall total. They count for something.
Anyway sounds like your clan is doing ok in all respects - just a case of finding the right balance with these games.
For me though, this is always going to be an issue regardless of whether SC implements any tools (which of course has been effectively ruled out), as real life will always come before an App game for 99% of players which means no matter how much we would like to contribute, sometimes we just cannot help but fail at times to max out.
Should players who contributes lots or maxes out each set of games be penalised because real life issues prevented them for one set of games from hitting some artificial cap? I'd be annoyed if that was the case and I was the one penalised.
Yes, to an extent. We're certainly seeing a lot less people maxing out. We used to have a dozen or more max out quickly, sometimes 20 by the end. I think it's only a couple max out at all these days. I think it's just due to the number of games SC are shoving at us - people are already becoming jaded.Quote:

So, you want to set minimum CG points to get max rewards. What happens when your Clan crosses the max tier because of someone who is below your threshold to recieve max rewards? Would you be happy to have the points for said clanmate reversed and no one got the top tier rewards? Or do you want to benefit from your clanmates contribution and withhold it from them?
As said by others, it is a clan management issue. You may create more issues for many clans if you want to make the points and tiers more complicated.
Just make something like "complete n tasks to get this tier reward". Easy fix, wont be based on points. Or make something like "complete 1 100 point task/a 400 point task and a 35 point task for getting full rewards from the completed tiers" or something.
Speaking as a Clan leader for over 3 years of an all adult clan, it would be nice for SC to give us more tools to manage our clans.
After a Clan War, we can review player's performances, Clan strategy for targets, suggest changes to either or both.
After Clan Games, we cannot see who donated how many points unless someone can screen capture the data and share on our kik group.
Having the ability/option to set a minimum threshold, bonuses for those who max, and a review option would stop all these threads by allowing us leaders to manage the Clan properly.
Because we are all adults with real world commitments we always set our targets at the second highest tier, but usually reach the top because the usual suspects like grinding, although we are suffering burnout, and wish the games were only twice per month as was the most popular choice on the SC poll which seems to have been ignored.
We already have it, Games Champion achievement is used for that, so when you trying to recruit new player you can used that as consideration to accept/reject.Quote:

A big part of clans is helping folks advance and achieve. Yup, I’d like to see who did what. Mainly to give more encouragement after the end of a Clan Game to those who show up late if I am not around or just busy. I just do not understand a whole series of rules for clan management as to who gets what after a clan game. As I said above, are you willing to forgo cetain contributions from folks who get to the second from top tier but did not reach your top tier requirements for points earned? What if that cost the clan the top tier?
One of the stated design goals for Clash of Clans is simplicity. Setting up rules about minimums for Clan Game tier rewards would not meet that design goal.

There was no clear preference for frequency on that poll, but if there were, it would still have probably been ignored as being a ridiculously tiny self selecting sample. And it was also run much too early to be of real value - when the poll was set up, there had only been about 3-4 games, and none had a duration of anything but 2 or 4 days.Quote:

We even have a few players who only make 50 - 200 points in the CG. And not once, but every single time.. It's a litte annoying, yes. But we can still use those points to reach the last tier and in the end it's just a game. Not worth whining for. In every clan there will be players who take more benefits then they deserve..
We only kick inactive players since it isn't that easy to find new active players.
For those that are complaining about frequency.
The community is a small one and is not really significant to the number of players.
I think sc is collecting activity in Cg data or so and the rate is probably high so they decided to do it more often. Therefore I don't think they'll turn to the forums to know how people feel about it.
I'm kinda worn out myself, but hey free stuff....I won't complain.
Not seeing any increase in that behavior. Have seen a decrease in it.
We had a couple of people that would do that but I showed them the door.
I don't do it for poor performance in one of the Games and maybe not two of them. If it becomes a habit, I'm not going to let them bring morale down with this kind of continued activity.
When we did see it, oddly, it was more likely to come from those that joined us for the Games.
Needs to be some discretion used. We don't set minimum requirements. I use judgement. I consider any other benefits they bring tot he clan. If none and get minimum points in clan games, they will be looking for another place.
Hmm .. clan games is a team activity no an individual competition. Having said that if there're people not contributing that is up to clan leadership. There are people who have legitimate reasons for not going whole hog on clan games (e.g. life can get in the way of everything).

Unless said people litterally get no points for no reason, they arent leeches. They've contributed to the success of the games.
I'm going to just start dropping my quote from an earlier thread on this subject, which talks about the clan games that just ended, because it has some, in my opinion, great anecdotal evidence that supports my view that any change to the minimum points required to earn rewards is a bad, bad idea.
Some context: These clan games were 4 days in length, had an individual max of 3,000 points, and the top tier rewards were available at 50,000 points.

The above shows, to me, why it is vitally important to keep reward redemption available to all clan members that complete a challenge. Only 14 clan members earned 1500 points or above. Those "top 14" scored 33,370 clan points. Pretty good!
However, the bottom 32 scored the other 17,120 points. I understand the "motivation" factor that people bandy about, but how many would complete as many challenges that they did, or any for that matter, if they knew they couldn't earn, say, 1500 points in order to collect the higher rewards? Would many of them have simply not done challenges? Could be!
But regardless, we would not have cleared the top tier rewards without those 32 clan contributors. Because of them, we are able to collect the top tier reward. I have no ill will towards the two people that earned only 50 points in the games. Both had real life commitments that kept them from participating in these games. They jumped on to do a single challenge, they should earn the rewards. Why on earth would I want to punish members of the clan?
Anyways, I'll step off the soap box. I just wanted to give that quick update now that we've finished the games.

Well there are other ways to put it, like “contributed fewer points than some of their fellow clan mates would have liked to see”, in which case fellow clan mates/coleader/leader might mention it and ask if they couldn’t maybe help out a bit more to spread the load. As my clan's leader I do the following. 1 Send mail(s). 2 Post in chat. 3 Exercise my Boot-Kick... this is my clan management 'tools'. every Leader (and CO) has this ability.
at the start of games I state if its 4D/ 3000 limits; then folks should aim for 750pts per day and they can clear cap points easy. but I always seem to get the finish line blitz.. which is ok cause we clear it. I digress..
I wont set a hardline amount if we get the ability to (Im with Confused One on this topic). I just want everyone to do their part. and if I feel like they can do more (because they are requesting troops all day, or grinding BH, but not doing tasks, then I take note.)
If folks are busy, or cant be on, then I expect some like in chat to say so. "I have Exams", ok fine, noted. "I have fam-stuff", ok fine noted. "work is kicking my buttocks"...something is better than none in this case.
cause at the end of games if the Slackers are the ones with low donation numbers, and sleeping builders and no league badge, or very low attack/def ratio, then they are headed for the door anyhow. I wait until the end of games, cause they may only have blitz time to do tasks.. but those tasks count. and even the low contributors get rewards anyhow so may as well see it through...
in the end I want active clashers in my clan as per description, and I want folks to participate in clan games cause its another stream of NON WAR XP for the clan that I have wanted/asked for; for many months (we are war farmers now cause we are max perks) so I want folks to chip in or let me know if they cant. simples
If you are not willing to do what it takes to lead a clan then you have no one else to blame but yourself. If what you want and what is good for the clan is in conflict then you do what is good for the clan. As a leader you should know this.Quote:

do 1000 points - you get 1000 points worth rewards
do 3000 points - you get 3000 points worth rewards

And don't take this the wrong way... I consider my clan to be a war clan, but the MAJORITY of our wars are 15-20 members, and rarely 25.
That means that more than half of the people aren't participating in war. Everyone contributes in some way though. Some never war, but they always do well in clan games, and donations. Some always war, but they don't have time for more than 2-3 attacks per day, so they don't bring a lot of clan games points to the table.
Every member's worth must be measured by their own merit. If they add value to the clan, keep them. If they do not, boot them. This is how I run my clan, and we have never once missed the top reward tier.
What does your clan offer that others don't? Being a Lv 10+ clan doesn't mean much any more. You mention global. Terrible place to recruit, imo. We've had great luck recruiting in the I Need A Clan and Looking For Clanmates subforums. But you have to spell out exactly who you are looking for, why they should join your clan instead of elsewhere and what you expect them to do when they join. Then follow through if they don't meet expectations.Quote:

if you aren't active (and not on my short list of 'excused') AND don't chip in CGs, and have other detrimental habits...then you can be "not active" in someone else's clan who dosent mind it. we are N-1 maxed games (first games missed max) if one cannot help for whatever reason, a simple post in chat will go a long way with me.

With clan games happening on the weekends I simply don't have the time to get 3k ever. Now during the week might be a different story as I have more time then. I get I'm not even close to your normal player. Infant I try to do everything not normal and some how it all works out wierd I know.

There are a few things that can be done as others have already said, e.g.:

The problem is, from an empirical view, the number of quality players have dramatically decreased. I spent 2 years in a war oriented clan that reached level 14. Some of us started a new clan because the leadership was doing nothing to fix things in our previous clan.
Our new clan is level 3, we have been able to recruit some good players for war but many of them aren't that interested in clan games. I don't want to kick them bc their donations are good and they are serious about war.
Setting a limit in clan games may make them score more medals or the very least the guys busting their butt won't feel they are working for someone else just to pass by and grab all the rewards.
Something need to be done.

The difference in these posts seems to be on mind-set. I'm not going to say that everyone has the same feeling towards their clan as I do, but I will say that I see my clan as a group of people working together towards a common goal. In wars, we either win or lose (as a clan). In clan games, we either reach the upper tiers or we don't (as a clan). My clan members are very generous with their donations and I try to reciprocate. In my mind-set, what's good for one of us is good for all of us, so I have no problem helping carry the load during clan games when some clan mates may have been pulled away from CoC due to real-life obligations. I don't want them to miss out on any rewards when this happens though. I'd rather them be awarded the books that allow them to rush an AQ upgrade, or instantly polish off another level of their xbow/IT, just in time for our next war. Unfortunately, I realize that not everyone has found that type of clan, and their stuck relying on players that may or may not pull their own weight. It's tough because if you don't have the core in place right now to tackle clan games, it's going to be harder to find it (those players that would have stuck with you may not have the patience to wait until the core is established). As long as it were clan specific (leaders can choose), I don't really care. However, I don't want my clan mates being penalized for others' misdeeds. We always hit max but it isnt always the same players with the most points. We work together. Some people help by taking bad challenges and letting them expire. Some help by popping in and requesting troops and spells just for event fills when they only have a few minutes. There are many ways to contribute besides maxing the points. I want them to get the same rewards as the rest of my clan. It helps them which helps us grow stronger.Quote:
