If the leader leaves without specifying a new leader I think it goes to the longest standing co leader. That being said just simply don’t make that mistake and your problem is solved
Being a leader of a clan comes with a few expectations.
1. Know the rules. Leaving the clan without assigning a predecessor may lead to assigning a leader to someone you may not want.
2. Be able to read and understand the warning dialogs that pops up when you are about to leave the clan.
I do not think that these requirements are unreasonable.
1. Everyone knows the rules but if you play with multiple accounts like me, it can happen that you leave from the Leader account while you think you are on a co-leader account. It is easy to mistaken it.
2. I dont recall I saw such warning dialog.. if there is one then this is good.
If you are the leader of a clan why are you leaving in the first place? If you have multiple accounts hen leave with a mini
If you want to go to a second clan to visit, set up a second base and go where you left and leave the rule leader within the tribe, and I hope that does not leave the tribe of the base assigned to the commander by mistake Be careful,
if you did that kind of mistake it does not mean you are a bad leader. that is why i suggested a safety feature for leaders before. the idea is to disable/hide the leave button for leaders( unless they are the sole member).
its like having bikes but helmets are not invented yet. if someone say "we need something to protect our heads" it wont be a good discussion if someone say "you just need to be better at biking"
Please all understand that mistakes happen. If you have a lv4+ clans and you did this mistake and suddenly you see a random guy a Leader (and worse if he doesnt login often) you will come and support my idea. There is no hell way to regain your Leadership. You can imagine the situation if you have a lv10+ clan. I would quit playing the game altogether. Questions like why do you want to leave? Or you should be cautious are short sighted.
If the implementation is hard it can be as simple as making the leave button look different for a leader (bigger red button?).
Yes please! I have five accounts and have set them up in clan so if I forget to promote a mini it will automatically go to one of my minis.
I have hopped out to donate or to join one of the forum events that are occasionally run, there is absolutely no reminder about leadership promotion.
The lack of prompt to promote another leader has not been an issue in my clan but I completely understand why another step in the process is required.
I agree with OP on this.
This feature will help leaders from accidentally leaving the clan without assigning next leader or promoting thier minis.
If you are the leader and intend to leave your clan for whatever reason you can promote whoever you want to leader. Before you leave the clan you get a pop up asking if you are sure you want to leave. What more do you need? Surely you don’t think that you will keep your title after leaving the clan? A key trait in a good leader is responsibility.
I am 100% supportive with the OP. My clan is facing the same problem.
I know it makes me a bad person, but it amuses me to no end that a leader leaves their clan, forgetting to designate their successor, and leadership is passed to either an inactive co-leader that was never demoted, or to a co-leader that should never, ever have leadership (which begets the question, why were they made a co-leader in the first place?).
My point is, who are you co-leaders, and why are they co-leaders if you do not trust them if they accidentally wind up with leadership?
Sounds like poor management of promoting people that should not be promoted.
Again, you will never understand until you encounter it. What if there is no co-leads? Not to mention that when u co-lead some one doesn't necessarily mean that you trust him for everything. Please don't talk about responsibility and management and this cheesy talk. Just understand that ♥♥♥♥ happens. And when ♥♥♥♥ happens you are doomed. There is no hell way out of it. No supercell support, no system to regain your leadership. You can only pray that the new leader be good enough to give it back to you (if they still active in the game). And those "are you sure?" popups are useless. Since we see them a lot, we just click them without reading which renders them useless.
