I always thought it was when you simplify, modify and misrepresent your opponents argument, essentially making up an incorrect argument that seams the same but isnt, and then attack that argument. Ive always called what you described petty fogging, but then what the h is petty fogging?

i think your overeacting to the overeaction. i also think you are in this case creating a straw man, I dont think more than a very rare few made claimes that it ruined clash and their clan. People were simply annoyed they were "influenced" to play the builders base, thats all.

Did some overeact, yes, Whats the appropriate way to deal with an angry overeactor, as Anyone who ever took a low level service job while they were studying, figuring their lives out or taking an extra job to help make their family's life a little better (I worked in a video store for a year wow around 20 years ago - MY BOOKING ISNT IN AND ITS 7 O CLOCK YOUVE RUINED MY NIGHT AND MY WEEKEND) in their lives, knows what you should do is:

1 ackonowledge the emotion 2 understand their arguments 3 then explain to them rationally that you cant go retrieve the video yourself as it could be seen as haressment and is against policy, cant give out the address because it could lead to a fight and you or the company could face legal action, and wish more than anything the copy was in so you dont have to be shouted at 20 times a day.

Tell an overeacting person they are overeacting, and you will then see a real overeaction.

No one has a problem with celebrating BB8 by having a clan games (frequency of recent games is a seperate issue). However, being forced to help 'celebrate' by restricting how we contribute had definitely caused ill feeling to the game.

Consider this, a friend invites me to celebrate a birthday. Lets have a drink and nibbles.

He drinks beer and eats chips/crisps (consider this BB XD) I am a wine and cheese gal (:caticon: lets call this main village) . We both contribute to the occasion and both enjoy our individual contributions. The rewards are the same. Some even enjoy a beer to start followed by a wine later during the event. The point is we have choices. We dont have to endure doing something we dont like.

I am glad we did the games as I feel this allows us to give constructive feedback. We did still work as a team but it was not enjoyable at all. Has only served to increase the dislike for BB that some had. Which in my eyes is unfortunate, I had hoped some would develop an interest in that side of the game.

moving forward I hope 'special event' clangames are more inclusive to all styles of play. Good luck to all the clans grinding out the final hour.

I have builder village sickness. I can't take it anymore.

The people who designed the builder games. Who are they. What are their networks. What do they do for fun ? Clap doors shut on their own fingers ?

Never ever again. Please. I can't take one more session of this. It is like work, only worse. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chore that.

So before these builder games I actually liked doing my 3-5 attacks per day. After doing way too many attacks this last week, most without any reward except points for challenges, I have begun to loathe builder base attacks. I’m at 4500 trophies and have a level 21bm. It takes 10 minutes for it to regenerate. About a 50% chance I win or lose an attack. The ai is so bad that you can do the same attack on the same base and end up with 59% one star or a 100% three star. No rhyme or reason why troops will go one way or another. Doing a whole bunch of attacks has made this even more evident.

Then there are the challenges themselves. Most of these challenges requiring 5 successful attacks an hour are barely possible. Some challenges are just not even reasonable. And most of these challenges are done past the three attacks where you get loot.

For instance, win 8 builder base battles in an hour for 300 points. If my success rate of winning is 50%, that will take about 16 attacks. That’s 160 minutes of battle machine regeneration and somewhat less army training time. So am I supposed to gem my camps and bm 16 times to win one challenge? Not even close to reasonable. I know some people will say, just don’t pick that challenge. Fine, but the other challenges aren’t much better. I just used this as an example.

i was going to buy the bh builder pack before the games. Now I am just going to stop playing the bb all together.

Yes. That is all I was referring to. There were only a couple handfuls or so that had the complete meltdown, but for some, the anger was real. I won't cap "some" again lest I upset someone :)

That's why this is a nifty forum. Most can debate and discuss without the full collapse.

This, exactly. How much thought was put into this, guys ? From the moment I read the available challenges when they begun I knew it wouldn't do. We finished previous clan games easily, with up to 2 days of margin, now we're short 14k points and it doesn't seem we will make it. Too few can be bothered, and I don't feel like blaming them. I'm positively disgusted with the builder village at the moment. It's not just that much fun to begin with, flawed and random as it is, and when it's forced down our throats like this, it becomes really insufferable.

Please, please, please, don't do it again. Ever. Regular clan games are fine with a bit of builder's base in it on the side, but builders games is the worst thing to happen in CoC ever since I started playing it. Ugh.

i was pretty much in the same boat until I deliberately dropped trophies. Now it's easy and quick again because the bm doesn't even matter. I was going to quit playing bb as well but now I realize I can leverage the flaws and still progress, albeit a little slower, with minimal effort and breeze through any future clan/builder games with minimal effort as well.
