I seriously lack something when fishing in this event. I just lost my NINETEENTH fish using a green lure in front of the dock. What gives? I've tried frantic circles, straight lines, zig zags, etc. Are they really THAT elusive? I have gotten two of the special fish already . . . I guess this is just my Moby ♥♥♥♥ :rolleyes:

It's the weight. They are much heavier and, therefor, add more stress on line. Try to be smoother and slower, if possible, with your turns and pulls in attempting to keep the fish within the circle. Sudden jerks will break the line.
Perhaps, if possible, the techs can decrease the sensitivity and increase the stability of the line. I have this happen occasionally even with the free lure anytime I get a very frisky fish or one I suspect may be the heaviest weight of the 3 diary fish available.
I've used at least ten lures, mostly purple and blue, since this event started and so far I've caught only one new fish. Everything else is the usual Northern Studfish, Huchens and other common ones I've already caught a zillion times.
I try not to complain too much, but I'm really losing interest in fishing. All it's doing is wasting vouchers and considering all the ones I catch weigh about 2 pounds I'll come nowhere close to achieving the personal event goals.

Getting the new fish is pretty easy if you know how, have probably caught 20+ of the new fishes during the event.
All you need to look for is a small circle and that the outer circle is really slow. The new fish will also put up a pretty good fight and you need alot of sihingline... ;)
And you can catch the new fish in all areas!

especially the last few pages. There's some great hints for you guys that might help you out... All four of the new fish can be caught in every area, the thread tells you which lure colour for each fish... Also the outer circle can get really large, and closes in a lot slower and more gradually than the usual fish... And the lines can get very loooooooong, lol.

I have caught all four new fish some twice, they do put up quite a fight and some times if you go with it instead of pulling the other way helps too, although I have lost 3 this morning and I only need another 3lb to get stage 4.............. :)
Yes here. I already caught all 4 of them but not all weights. I can totally tell now if it is one of the new fish. :D
Well this makes sense. I'll try to be more "gentle" with my fishing technique. I've been really frantic trying to keep the buggers inside the darned lines!!! I always "lose" them when they swim outside the red circle :mad:Quote:
