Hey all,
i am roughly 2 weeks from a complete maxed th8 including walls.
my plan is to finish my th9 upgrade with 6 mil loot 3 mil each for 2xbows and enough elixr for a lab upgrade. I find once you have > 3-4 million I get raided heaps and loose 250-350k how can I avoid this as I will be raiding and saving during my 10 day upgrade and will be constantly loosing loot as I will be an obvious target?

I just recently upgraded to TH9 and started both of my x-bows right away because I did what you are trying to do! My honest advice would be to drop to a lower trophy range once your storages are full, and make sure you have a strong defensive layout for your village.
You might also consider placing your townhall outside to try and protect your resources. If an attacker destroys the townhall, you will lose 1000 gold/elixir and a few trophies, but you will gain a 12 hour shield. This will also free up space in the core of your base, allowing you to better defend your resource storages.

I just looked at you TH9 base....why do you have your Heroes setup in such an easy place to wipe them out? No need to lure them....they are already where you would want them to be!
On my second account, I drop near 1200 and put town hall outside going to th8. It was very safe with full loot and storages and full collectors/mines for a week
I am a 3/4 maxed TH8, just a handful of defenses and then walls before moving to TH9. However I was in the same position when moving from maxed TH7 to 8. I maxed all storages and stopped emptying collectors, raided simply to keep storages full and simply tried to ignore the amount I was losing from the collectors. I then waited until I was within 12-24 hrs of the town hall finishing, when I got lucky with a town hall snipe I then used gems to buy a 48 hour shield (you could just buy a 24 hr one if that works for you) - this gets added to your existing shield time so that my collectors had a lot of time to fill, almost to the max. That bought me the time to rearrange the base, buy extra buildings, etc. as I don't spend my gems on anything else I felt it was worth it. Hope this helps.
