Which do you guys think i should do first? Each cost 30,000 dark elixir. Im a pretty nearly maxed out TH 8. Sme of us i my clan are going to push for masters league in December just for fun. I am thinking the lvl 3 hogs will do me more good in that run.
Minions they will help in pushing and farming.
Hogs. Minions gets killed fast by air def.

Minions to level 4 is a big upgrade and it means they will not be 1 shotted by level 10 archer towers and they 1 shot level 5 archers. Do minions because they are super useful for farming. And trophy hunting

These strategies will allow you to farm gold easily and cup hunt.
Hogs are no longer that good after the many nerfs they got. Do minions to level 4&5 before hogs to level 3.

Minions. Farms better with Balloons and viable on plenty other compositions. Hogs are much more limited and expensive -- save your DE for something else like BK/AQ upgrades for now.
Well I'm at the exact same stage as this guy and I was thinking: save for AQ, upgrade BK to lvl 7, minions to 4 or hogs to 3. All I have left are walls, what should I do?
When I was in that situation, I prioritized thusly: AQ (huge upgrade to have her), minions, BK upgrade, hogs, anything else.
As mentioned before, minions are more versatile as both a farming and trophy hunting troop, and they are much more powerful at level 4/5.

Minions are incredibly useful in both farming and pushing.
They are BY FAR my favorite troop for a number of reasons, most of which have already been stated.
Mine are currently going to 4 and then will go to 5. Minions are pretty awesome.

i like the BK and AQ ideas too. My BK is lvl 5 and i will be able to raise him to 6 in fairly short order, and def will. I like the AQ, she def seems to be a huge upgrade, but she requires TH 9 and i am going to stay at8 for a bit longer so im not going to start saving for her quite yet.

Trophy hunting - hogs
Based solely on the fact that your DE troops are only half way to be maxed out, I would say that you are somewhat far from actively hunting trophies. Thus minions win.
Personally, hogs
As there has been just enough time before the December push, and thanks to some aggressive DE farming, i will be doing both!
