Interesting idea. I'm more inclined to agree with Zach on the build times. However i really like the same idea applied to the speeding up of barracks / spell factory in higher leagues.

I'm sure Supercell would prefer everyone to raise their trophies rather than low level farming. You can just about farm with tier 2 troops (balloons/minions) in Masters but spells are also needed. It starts getting expensive in resources and build time which eats into loot gained per hour.

We've said it before but if they want people to raise trophies then they should reconsider the ability to use heroes during upgrades. This would greatly help players and also encourage more to upgrade them.

Hmm interesting idea certainly... You would have to balance out the actual loot your getting, and still getting a considerable time change... Would give more incentive to push i suppose

I wonder if that is true. A time decrease still means you have to wait and the idea of increasing the clock speed vs. decreasing the time is an important distinction when it comes to gemming.

The real question is, how often would people who would've normally gemmed the troops stop doing so due to a somewhat reduced build time? Personally I think a loot increase would cost SC more because people are not going to gem loot if they have it and the amount of loot you need to gem is of course directly related to the amount of loot you have.

I think the idea is quite unique and actually a good one. They would need to combine it with some sort of loot fix though (as stated on the prior page).

I'm curious about specifics though, how does it determine the build speed? Lets say I trophy hunt into Masters, start a few upgrades and then lower to gold I (assuming loot is still bad, this is a reasonable plan of action). Does the build time adjust itself on the new gold I league? If so, then this will likely require multiple adjustments through the league season and people won't know when their upgrades will finish until they stay put.

Other than that issue, I think it is a great way to encourage people to go for trophies.

But what would happen if you go up or down in leagues while and upgrade is going?

Good question... I guess it either speeds up or slows down according to which way you went lol... Like it would be going a certain speed, you attack, win/lose, and when u come back to your base, it slows down/speeds up

Per person, sure, resources would cost them more, but when looking at the whole population the costs may be different. The need, or strong desire, to gem armies comes into play at a much lower trophy count than does the resource problem, so it affects way more people. Regardless, SC probably knows the real answer and could probably do a decent job of quantifying it, and however that analysis turns out is what they should be doing.

I guess but imagine going on a raid lets say your wiz tower is upgrading and it takes 5 days. You lose your raid..you drop down a league and the upgrade is now 6 days that would annoy some people who don't get the system or how it works.
I see another problem..If your upgrade is lets say 3 days..you go up a league..2 days..up another 1 day..up another done..
This could be bad ^
but again I like the idea just needs a few tweaks;)

I dont think itll be days at a time, just a day or 2 at most for like a champ
