Getting lvl six balloons and lvl 5 minions really worth it?

Title says it al, im thinking about getting them. lvl 5 balloons for now and lvl 2 minoins for now. Should i get them?:confused: ore just go with Hogs? current lvl 2

Do you find that the increase in air mines and seeking air mines, plus the ability to upgrade them dampens the effectiveness of Balloonions?

I'd take the air units

There are many ground units...forget about hogs,get balloons and minions....balloons have a huge splash damage and minions have great speed and not bad damage anyway......

Air defense doesn't really threaten large Balloon armies as an AD can only target one balloon at a time. The real danger is strong wizard towers with splash. If you watch Daddy's Balloonion vids you can see he uses rage spells to surge inward toward wiz towers first, to kill those as fast as possible.

Minions come in behind to pick off other buildings (barracks, huts, storages and collectors)

Thanks for the advice, i geuss i'will stick with balloons then. altough i got those maxed out for th8. my minoins are only lvl 2 for now. i will upgrade them :)

I maxed balloons and minions first, then I moved on to hogs.

yes

Minions are so much better at level 4-5, and useful for all sorts of armies not just balloons and minions. Also, balloons and minions is actually a great farming army (16 balloons, the rest minions), at higher cup levels especially you can get great loot from a wide variety of bases be it gold, elixer, and/or DE, in collectors and/or storages. It is my favourite as far as general utility goes.

Simple answer yes - its up there with hogs but does not necessary require you to fire off quite so many spells every single battle. Plus minions are useful in many armies.

I just upgraded to level six balloons a couple days ago, im the highest ive ever been in trophys...granted i never really tried to gain trophys...but now im at just under 2500 cups. Ive been using level 4 minions too with no problems. The loot is great here. I do have trouble gaining elixer now because im using more spells, but 200k bases are every other click it seems. Im also seeing 1000+ de on almost every base. My setup is 24 balloons, 40 minion, 10 arch, 10 barb. Arch and barb for queen and CC. I prefer 3 heal spell and one rage. Trying to use only one per battle if able. Heal is helpful around big wizards, clusters of defences, and groups of upgraded air bombs. The 55k league bonus is great as it covers costs of spells and the extra gold...ya know. The build times r longer for sure, which is what i like personally as ive been playing this game so dang long that it gets old at times. At this range the hog attacks r getting me more and more, so expect that. Every attack is 20 hogs at least, and i lose a bit over half the time to them. I never used balloons before, so its been a nice change. Ill shoot for 3000 maybe, and probably let my four builders retire as im not dropping hundreds to get any further. Give it a try, youll be glad u did. And you can say you dont use those stupid as!ed hogs!

Not at all. They are still one of the best(if not the best) pushing armies, being dependable, easy to use, and flexible. It is effective for farming at some ranges too. The jump from lvl 5-6 for balloons is comparatively massive and the minion jump is quite a lot too. Quite worth it.

Balloons and minions are great for trophy push. Hogs used to be superior, but they've really taken a big hit in the last update with the nerf in HP and the buff to bombs. Balloons/minions can more consistent nowadays, and cost a lot less DE to train.

I usually carry 3 rage 1 lightning or 4 rage, but a heal spell is nice when the base has a high level WTs bunched together.

I only use balloons during push, and next one won't be for a while. There are plenty of good videos out there though.

thanks, yes i used lvl 5 balloons, but if i see the reply's from you and others there must be a big difference between lvl 5 and 6 balloons. Because lvl 5's are just to weak in th8 in my opinion.

There is - level 6 balloons are MUCH stronger than 5. Huge difference.

Until 30 Nov Im in a trophy run, 2720 something right now.

I got hogs, balloons and minions maxed (th9) and I can tell you that Im using more balloons ans minions that hogs. For me are more fun, and an almost 1 or 2 star win.

It's good in Dark Elixir, but i will not farm in here gold/elixir. I'm earning those to cover the cost of the troops and almost nothing more.

Yeah, I made great loot from balloons and minions, but only to about 2700, maybe 2750. After that, as TH9, it was hard work finding a base where I felt comfortable raiding, and had to pick a lot where the gold and elixer was super-poor (or I missed it all). I'm currently farming with them, in Crystal 1, might drop a little further where the loot is even easier.
