How much is enough?

My barn is @ 750 and silo is 600 ish I think. I tend to keep 35 ish of all my crops, but only a handful of the tree/bush items. In the barn, I keep around 30 ish of milk, wool and bacon, as much as I can save of cream, butter, cheese and sugars (which isn't much because it goes as fast as I can make it, lol). I'll keep around 12-15 popcorn and breads, but the other items I only keep 8-10 of each. Ores go as fast as I get them, and the jewelry items get sold right away, or I might possibly keep 2 of each for a truck order.

Edited to add: I don't keep any expansion items...I'm done with my land expansion and I've decided not to expand the barn or silo for a while, so I sell those items as soon as I get them.

Every seems to sigh and go a bit nuts over these boat orders.... Is it really so hard to do? im only lvl 11 atm so have no clue yet

Boat orders hmmmm! They can be quite difficult. Sometimes you get a really easy boat I.e blue sweaters, red berry cakes and wool for instance. All of these items are relatively easy to buy or make. However sometimes you get really difficult ones. The most difficult I've had before the winter update was white sugar, brown sugar and syrup! It was a nightmare but between myself and a friend I am proud to say that we
did it :-) since the update however I have had to send several boats away which have been asking for sushi, soy sauce or salads :-( I'm trying to get a stock I those now

Wow! I can't believe I didn't know this list existed! Life has been made much easier by this :-)

I usually try to keep 30-40 of all sugar and dairy (except goat cheese, which I try to keep at 20). I try to store 10-15 of all other barn items except for stuff that's easy to find in the DD or from neighbors (goats milk, sweaters, chili popcorn, etc.)

I am similar to what D215p2 keeps. I use to spend so much time trying to upgrade my barn, that it got a little tedious and took a lot of the fun away for me. So I stopped upgrading. Now with the new stuff, I need to at least upgrade my silo storage. It seems like when I first started playing, expansion items were easier to come by. Not so much anymore.

I usually only keep about 5, for turbo trucker III I kept 10. My barn is only 600, so that is a huge factor.
