How many of each item do you guys keep on hand? I think I'm getting a little obsessed!
depends on your barn and silo capacity. but normally i have 20+ basic silo product (wheat/corn/soybean/carrot), 10+ the and rest.
Usually same as the poster above. I've found that selling soya beans and sugarcane help me make a bit of money.
I've become obsessed with increasing the capacity of my barn and silo, lately. Soon as I upgrade, I want the next one. :p
Glad you asked the question. I have been trying to keep ten on hand but my barn is always bursting and it becomes a constant grind of hunting for expansion materials. I wondered if I should keep ten of the slow to produce and just five of the others. This weekend I might try and ignore my boat, help my neighbours but wheat like crazy for the next upgrade. I'm only at 675 at the moment but have a lot of saws and axes cluttering the place up. I sell them regularly but I can't bear to let them dip too low.
I use to keep a stock, now I just constantly fill truck orders in order to level up quicker. I want all the machines!
I currently have 1650 storage in my barn. I had 20 of each product on hand and seemed to be fine with that although the quantity of dairy and sugar varied depending on what I was making. Since the update I haven't got enough storage with all the new items to make :-/ (I'm not complaining though, it's nice to have different things to make). I've even been known to set my alarm so that my machines aren't sitting idle (much to my husbands amusement) . I wonder if I'll ever have enough storage? I think maybe I need to have a couple of glasses of wine and relax and remember it is just a game ;-)
I have always tried to keep 20 of the manufactured items, like cakes and pies, etc. Except the things you can find easily such as sweaters, red berry cakes, and so on. However, now with the new items and not a lot of luck with BEMs, I have decided to keep just enough to fill a boat order plus help two neighbors. I.e. cream cakes: keep 8 plus 4 bc each crate typically asks for two. Make sense? Now my poor little silo is another story. I haven't had time to figure out how much of each I need and my silo isn't very big. Mucho work needed to figure that one out yet. :p
That's a good idea. I need to have a more accurate idea in my mind of how much a boat asks for instead of guessing and hoarding. I do have one of the excellent lists available on here, and although the quantities asked for do vary a little it's not by much. The tyranny of the boat! Sometimes I am glad when it asks for impossible goods and I let it sit there unopened and uncast off and just potter about my farm working on other things and trying not to cast it off and see what's being asked for next.
