The clan games are still a group effort even with the minimum. That won't change - it can't. But clans wanting to have a minimum to ensure they get the reward tier they desire is not selfish - it's promoting more activity from those who could play more, but don't care to.

We discussed several pages ago how if a minimum is instituted, it could be set up so that the points of an individual won't count toward the clan total until the minimum is reached. That way, the individual isn't contributing to the clan total without receiving rewards. This would add some risk for leaders who choose to set the limit too high and cause more critical thinking on the part of the leadership. This addressed your "contribution but no rewards issue".

But you are still penalising those players who are not as active as most. Not everybody plays every day. Real life issues prevent me from playing some days. I don't always hit max points because of real life issues. Thankfully I am pretty much maxed so it doesn't effect me. But those who are still not as active as others and who are lower TH lvls are going to miss out on these rewards which SC has implemented for the exact reason of speeding progression up.

Makes little sense to me to exclude those players simply because real life prevents them hitting some artificial limit set by a leader.

At the risk of repeating myself, we already have the tools to deal with freeloaders/hoppers. Don't confuse freeloaders/hoppers with players who are not as active as most.

For instance, we have a very good player in our clan that joins most wars. He is a good player yet he is not as active as most of us and these books/potions will certainly help his progression. I am more than happy to help him along even though he can't hit max points in games.

I imagine a lot of clans have players like this who they would like to help. Clan games. For the benefit of the clan.

Erm nothing? If a player misses war attacks with good reason then so be it. If a player is clearly a freeloader/hopper then they are kicked. Not sure of the point you are making.

Anyway - its a good thread with some good views from both camps. I just don't see the benefit and will leave it at that :)

After opt in for war it's now players responsibility to use his attack. If you miss your attack you will miss the loot as well.
Same goes to clan game. If player is agree with minimum then it's now players responsibility to achieve that minimum. Or loose rewards.

I agree with you that there are players who have real life commitments that may cause a struggle to reach the minimum. That's where the clan can individualize it to meet the players needs. I think that many leaders would be receptive to not having a huge requirement if there is(are) a loyal clanmate(s) who can't play as much. Most likely, for normal games, many clans may not set a minimum at all. But for marathon games that require 25 players (maxed rewards) to get the top tier, it makes total sense to me for leaders to want to encourage more participation. Kicking does nothing to deter someone who already completed a reward and only given 50 points as they still get the full rewards for the clan.

If a clan's leadership isn't receptive to setting an attainable goal for people with real life business going on, then a player could choose to find a clan that doesn't have a requirement.

I imagine that if you've been in a clan so long that you don't want to leave, you must have built a good relationship with the leadership and they would probably be receptive to setting an attainable limit.

I feel like as soon as people see this minimum feature, they assume that leaders would set the minimum to 3000 or something. I'm guessing the reality is that most would set it to something much less in order to keep people from just doing 1 challenge and stopping.

Why on earth (freeloaders/hoppers aside) would you want players to lose rewards simply because something came up and they can't hit the minimum? Don't you want the best for your clan and its members?

Are you thinking there are going to be only 75k clan games?
Why on earth freeloader or hopper will take challenge when he knows he can't hit the minimum?

But the exact same reasoning will also apply to players who also know they can't hit the minimum. So say you have 10 players who normally hit 750 points. Leader has set limit to 1,000. So those players won't take part in the games. That is 7,500 points lost simply because of the limit.

Would you rather have those 7,500 added to your total? I know I would.

Why do people give out free Co? Why do some people fill the clan description with silly and unnecessary rules? Why do they leave the clan set on anyone can join during war day?

Then It's time to leave clan. And find that 'good' leader who respect your opinion. Poor leader will do 75k alone.
