1.) Medium sized clan, no inactives.

2.) We're a war clan with a very good win %. We're always looking for "fresh blood" but for wars, not clan games. Not going to lower our standards just to get goodies if it negatively affects our war log.

6.) We don't pressure anyone to participate. We've done well so far but getting burned out. Gonna focus more on wars going forward.

8.) Yes, recruiting is even more difficult than it was before. Even if you reached 75k, people will run to another clan that reached 80k.

There's your answers. I know you asked for this not to be a comment thread but I'm going to throw in one comment. We're getting burned out. Especially those of us with multiple accounts. I maxed points on all 6 the first few games. This last one I did about 8k total out of a possible 18k. I'll probably do even less this time. Once a week is too much. Never thought I'd consider quitting but if it keeps piling on I may have to.

I'm a co, put a little guilt on one guy who kept doing a 50 point task and then ghosting for the rest of the games, while I and the others who have multiple accounts killed ourselves to reach the 3k max. Didn't pressure anyone into participating altogether though.

• Has this changed your clan in anyway either foreseen or unforeseen? We have not warred in ages. I don't have time for war and clan games, especially with three accounts (and there are at least four of us with two/three accounts). The writing is on the wall for our clan - I can see that most are just pretty much sick of playing. Clan games is a way for me to speed up the push to 40/40 heroes and quit.

Please don't turn this into a comment thread about Clan Games themselves (such as tier rewards etc) because there are plenty of those threads already I am really driving at how it might affect clans going forward...if at all?

Edit: one extra comment. This last game, where we knew we had no chance at 75k, we almost didn't participate at all, then rallied to 12,000 for the book of spells. The other rewards within range weren't even close to being enough to justify the effort.

I currently have accounts in 3 clans. In the first clan, it is level 13 and I am the leader. We typically run full at 50 and we have had no complaints per se about the games. We finished tier 8 with days to spare.

In the second clan, I am elder. It is a lvl 11 clan that is great at war but not very active otherwise. There is some division as some players can really use the rewards and others are not so concerned and don't put in much effort. It frustrates the clan leader, but there is no easy solution. That said, they did manage to finish tier 8 at the last hour but there was some angst.As there is not much of a social aspect to the clan, getting and retaining new recruits is difficult, most likely to the "cliquish" feel that people get when they are ignored by others discussing war plans.

Clan three is a lvl 9 clan made up of mostly friends and family members. They achieve a few tiers, but as no one is really that into the game they don't strive to do more.

In all of these cases, I do not recall anyone leaving specifically due to clan games. In clan #2, there has been some discussion about joining other clans for the rewards but continuing to function as a clan otherwise.

My clan typically has 48-50 members. We are ALL active. If someone becomes inactive, they are booted, with an invitation to return.

Everyone contributes in some way. Some are big on war, while others are huge donators, and some seem to live for clan games. Of course, there are also those who excel in all areas.

We have two major rules--use your war attacks, and give what is requested. We don't set clan games participation mandates, but we do ask that people do what they can.

All this being said, we've never missed the top tier reward. No one has ever left our clan because of the games, but we have picked up a few people who specifically joined us because of the games.

I am the leader of my clan, but to be honest, it's a very well-oiled machine, that doesn't need a lot of maintenance. Each day is pretty much business as usual, and everything just works. When everyone is working cohesively to achieve a group goal, that makes less work for everyone to do.

i Just tried to do a merge for games, total disaster.

other clan hardly showed up, told my clanmates If you not going to get least 1000 medals then dont fill up a clan games slot. We kicked some inactive accounts and then the 20 people who normally score 200 -700 we told to hang back. So less of my members than normal playing, and the other clan showed up with 2 people. 2 - to "test"

and I look like a Charlie all round.

my clan - what the heck, 2 people? You told our members to stay out If they wouldnt not get 1000 points for this???
other clan - no ones active, i thought you said we would reach Max tier easy, we'll warn others not to come.

me - aaaaawrg!!! If they come then our guys will be more active because they will not be annoyed with me, and we will all get motivated because If all 10 come we have 40 active and can easily get top tier.

Terrible that this happened to you and your clan. We thankfully ended up on the total other side of the spectrum: we had others from one clan join ours for last time and we maxed easily, the ones who got left behind (more inactive people) ended up annoyed. Our clan has now merged with another clan due to totally different circumstances and now our members are already helping out in the other clan of our alliance ... win win win for everyone. Our minis from our 'baby' clan, where otherwise we either wouldn't max or would have to transfer people to, now can all get max rewards too and all three clans benefit ... I do wish you a better experience from now on...

We currently have 46 members, so I guess we count as a large clan. The only time we've missed the top tier in any of the games was the one during Superbowl weekend. We tried to do a last minute push, but we missed it by like 900 points. The last one we struggled a bit, but we were able to rally everyone and completed it with only like an hour to spare.

We're an older clan (about 4 years old) and have some legacy members who still play, but VERY casually. Before the Games it was slightly concerning, but easier to turn a blind eye. Now it draws a lot more attention... especially when you're trying to rally members for the last few tiers and you see only 32 of 46 players participating (and about 10 of those have under 100 points).

Since we're a casual/competitive adult clan, we're trying not to put too much pressure on members. That said, we're not really satisfied with the effort (or lack thereof) of like a third of our clan.

It has caused leadership to consider changes in how we gauge the threshold of activity in members. We don't want to be too hardcore and strict, but we don't want to seem lax while a certain group continues to overachieve and others coast by (or never get involved).

For my clan, currently 46 accounts in clan... small core group of about 20 players . I and the leader have several mini in various TH - leader has them for roster engineering in clan war, I have them for clan games. The last CG - 7 day one I maxed points in all 5 of mine and he maxed points in also 5 of his accounts. Other players have 1-2 mini - some maxed, some at least more than half of points. Most players have 1 account some are almost on the way out they just war and maybe do 1 task several use the CG as small in clan competition to see who can finish first last CG we had 15 account hitting 3000 points we stopped at 50K points.

We have lost so many players (most of them maxed TH11) in the last 12 months due to boredom/being fed up (not enough endgame content, clouds, engineering - you take your pick ...) we are in process of reviving those players by calling them and texting or messaging then ... and they are trickling back in one by one. Once they are back they are semi active - will play for the clan/team.... for our clan then they go dormant in between war and CG. We had 3 full clans in our family/alliance and lose connection to a couple more clans - we merged our 3 clans into 1 clan now.

The CG is pumping old blood back into the clan. Occasionally there is a friend of a friend who we let in but we are not interested in merge with someone we don't know well or open our clan and let just anyone in for the sake of 1 book of everything or a few more potions.
Lets hope that the next update has the right stuff in it to keep our returning players' interest and not turn off any more clan mates.
For our clan it's pretty much do or die... if our clan leader throws in the towel its over for this clan and he is waiting for TH12 like more than half of my clan. Clan games is nice but it is not enough not in its current form.

Not sure if Holps is still taking note of this thread, but if he is...

I've been a Co (basically a dual leader) of my clan for roughly 4 years now. We are a large clan with typically 45-50 members at any given time. Going into the last clan games, I already knew that we'd never touch the top tier, basing that information off of what we had done in previous Clan Games (we're usually around 53,000). Out of the members we have, we do have around 10-15 that are completely inactive. We have another set of 10 or so that basically do the bare minimum even though I know their play habits would dictate they could do more. And then we have a set of people that consistently get 3,000 points every set of games.

All that in mind, never once did I or the leader press people to get points. We didn't even consider kicking people to bring in more actives. We've never complained or thought about kicking people that are riding the coat tails of active members.

Why?

Because, this is a GAME. It's meant to be fun. It's not meant to be a point of stress. It shouldn't be stressful to lead a clan and it shouldn't be stressful to simply be a member. Even for the most competitive clans, none of this is real. If a natural disaster came through wiped out everything SC had (god forbid), then nothing any of us have done would matter except to ourselves. I play this game because I find it fun. I play it to have fun with other members of my clan. I play it to help the other members of my clan. If myself and others getting 3,000 points helps a guy out that only participated in one game with a Book of Heroes, then so be it. I hope he puts it to great use.

This game has taken off so much more than SC could have ever hoped. I'm sure they never imagined people having upwards of 20, 30, 40, even 50 accounts (yes, I know someone). I'm they never imagined the builder base or Clan games being a thing. I'm sure they never thought they'd get to TH12 and having to deal with "end game" and "cloud" dilemmas. But, with every addition to this game, it's becoming more and more interwoven into our lives. I find myself playing the game on and off literally all waking hours of a day. That's fine. I have balance. Now, it's come to a point where people are being kicked because they don't play enough. Or, chastised by some online entity because he/she didn't get enough points. Things like that take the fun away from new players. I hope it's not fun being the leader or Co that is performing those kind of actions... personally, I wouldn't know.

TL;DR - People need to start taking a step back and gauge their involvement and how much CoC has taken over. This is just a "game" after all... right?

With so few actual members, we need to work together. People who made their 3K stayed online to encourage & cook troops for the last ones. First Game we missed by only 270 Pts.

Founding core all know each other & drink/golf/play cards. Others have joined & brought a few friends so our 3 main branches, Philadelphia, PA US - Somerset, UK & Bangalore India have local people they know. Clan together 3.5 yrs. Interest has somewhat waned in game, it's friendships that keep us playing

• Has this changed your clan in anyway either foreseen or unforeseen? Neat magic stuff has helped push members higher, quicker. We realize we need to recruit more going forward.

We try not to war during CG's - puts too much strain on people. Our clan all adults, 32 - 61 who don't need added stress! Managing upgrades has become a bit easier, esp for heros. Our war log looks like Elmo and this font! Biggest threat to game enjoyment is war match ups, not Clan Games.
