Global fishing event: Tips to catch biggest fish?

We are admitted cheapos, and have only ever used vouchers to make a few lures, and those usually on accident.

What are your best tips for catching big fish? A particular colored lure? A hot spot? Please share your knowledge here for those of us who have been subsisting on copper red horses and Hutchens :)

its like this, when you cast your lure, look at the most inner ring, the smaller the ring, from my experience, the heavier/rarer the fish. theres a really huge ring, a middle ring size, a small ring size and a super tiny one (thats the one you want to aim for)...

if you cast your lure, and you get a big ring and the fish does not FIGHT back at all (its just like all those fishing games and REAL fishing) the more tension they gives you the heavier the fish is... if you can reel it in real easy, just let go and recast... after few tries depends on your RNG, you will be able to catch some heavy ones.

AWESOME! We will give it a shot, but of course being cheapos our lure queue is full of the free worm lures from before the event started ha ha

Me too, good ole worms! When I was little my dad used to take us to a fish farm (trout I think) and we would catch them with Velveta cheese!

omg we used to fish with cheese too. We had a little pond about 2miles from our house and we caught rainbow trout. Thanks for the hint about the rings. I too only use worms unless I hit the blue lure on accident

Use lure made with voucher. Either green or blue will do.

Those new fish is really GIANT. I catched one with bronze medal which is 12.xxx lbs, this one almost got away so if it is tricky to catch, it might be the GIANT one. If you aim for personal goals, aim for new fish because cool down time is still the same.
