Communication issues

1. When I am signed into the Forum and want to go back to farm for some reason, I often don't go back to the Forum to where I left off, and sometimes have to sign back in again. I wonder if it is that I only have one tab open. I am used to making new tabs in my browser but don't know how to make them in HD. It seems to be better if I have more than one tab open but usually my screen change just overwrites the current screen

2. Is there any way to get PM when at the farm? I am happily playing away while I have a message waiting for me and don't know it
