I started playing HD almost a year ago. I was completely addicted for the first few months, hardly able to put my mini ipad down for even a minute. I've learned moderation and self-control, but still totally love the game.
I didn't join the forum until a few months ago. There was a wealth of information shared by fellow farmers that made a huge impact on how I managed and played my farm. Many thank you's to those happy farmers. Now however, I'm going to avoid the forum. So much of the discussions are negative and full of condemnation for the developers.
This is a game and a business. Who starts a business NOT to earn money? We're not in a Utopian universe. I've invested $6 total. I'm at level 60something. I play because it makes me happy, plain and simple. No one is forcing anyone to play, pay, or support the game. If you're not happy, quit. Don't post your negativity and bring others down.
I will keep farming because I enjoy it. I'll keep helping as many farmers as I can for the same reason. And if I start feeling overwhelmed, I'll tap on my pig pens and let their happy, joyous faces cheer me up.
