Totally agree. It think that would put leagues where they need to be (as it stands right now)
The more I think about some sort of bonus for winning a defense is appropriate. Its just hard to predict the end result on player behavior.
I don't mind the current system but I also don't mind this.

I really don't see how this would be bad. Even BAM would likely take 3 hours to hit 12 attacks. However, I think this should kick in after say TH6? Earlier Th I don't think really need the enforced breaks.

I think a TH should still be worth a star. However, I think saying you need at least 30-35% to get the shield would be sufficient in most cases to reduce sniping. I'm just thinking of hybrid bases where people do defend their TH but not as well.

I am interested in why you feel that there should be an 8 hour or 8 attack forced break? What benefit do you think that would bring? My first reaction to 8 attacks was "oh heck no" as I would be forced to break far too often for my liking! but im genuinely curious...
On a side note, I started my th10 upgrade a couple of weeks ago whilst i was attempting to get my champ badge. I hit 2801 which turned out to be my ceiling as i kept losing after that. I ended up getting terribly frustrated and slid back down to farming. At that point, I cancelled my TH upgrade as i felt that the loot penalty would mean HAVING to battle maxed 9s and 10s all the time to make any profit, and a reduced profit at that, and would be a complete game changer. After reading your story, Im kind of glad that i made that decision... I am far more of a th9 farmer than a th10 warrior, so im just sitting back and maxing out my level 10 walls and relaxing and having fun.... hopefully by the time i have finished, TH10 wont be the top of the food chain any more.
I come from a fun loving clan of farmers who do a push just once every couple of months, a lot of my clan are coming to the end of TH9 and are preparing to make the move... I do worry that it being so much harder will just mean that people will end up losing interest and walking away...
I agree that something needs to be done, but i fear I am not sure what that thing is... (although I love the idea of more league bonuses and more boosts for less gems!)
Why would it make sense for search costs to go up?
If anything they should go down as you search more than 20 times.
25% cost reduction after 20 searches and 50% reduction after 40 searches would be nice.
So much gold and, more importantly, time wasted Nexting through bases with less than 100k to raid.
This is what takes the fun out of the game.
Yeah! That happens upgrades become unbearable,i had a few lvl 90 plus walk away then a lvl 100 and now there is constant churn to what was always a full clan.My clan chats are dead for hours people just donate ,receive and leave.Increased loot is the way to go,if more farmers had decent loot and could make progression up with trophies then that would solve loads of problems.There would be more targets at higher levels for a start.Not saying farming would die out or anything,but i am a lvl 121 and would gladly sit in master league if loot was not an issue and i could make armies who could attack high end bases constantly.

Those numbers are set as is to prevent the high cups sitting 24/7 and attacking all the time, but force them to defend. If 12 attacks in a row isn't enough, what is then? High cuppers wanted more available targets and preventing people sitting in front of the device all day long would do just that.
For me, I play how I have time. I might attack 20 times a row or once a day. Instead of suggesting exactly at how I want the game to be, I did read multiple threads and interpreted them. Personally I could not care less how the top cuppers play the game, or the HC farmers for that matter. Everyone can play the game how they want, but if one wants to have the game to work in a certain way, one has to constraint some things and let loose some other things.
I believe you should also add level 7 DE drill.
also a timer that shows how much time we have before we get kicked out by server for resting.
None of these ideas actually make you fight people your own level though. Increasing league bonuses does help with that a tiny bit, but they need to be totally overhauled if you want that effect. All increasing search costs does is penalize people in the meantime.
