Bowlers or Miners
So I will be a fully maxed th9 in like 4 weeks. I just did the hog event so I got the book of fighting and when I become a th10 after doing my lab, camps, and spell factory I was planning to do a barracks and then upgrade either the bowler or miner and use the book to instantly complete them... which one is better? I'm a fairly active war participant so I was thinking bowlers but I hear miners are very versatile so I'm not totally sure which is better.

On one side, miners can get you dark elixir, but you need to upgrade twice. But also, early th10 is elixir heavy, so you won't have much chance to do miner attacks.
And on the other, bowlers are an excellent war troop and only need one upgrade.
I'd do bowlers first if you are going to war fast. If not, get your miners to farm and then bowlers.

Miners are incredible dark producing machines. However as posted, for war, bowlers come first. For myself I did miners first on my second account because then I can easily farm dark and raise up my dark lab troops and heroes.

Bowlers, I'm a fresh th10 and pretty much did same thing. Used books on barracks and bowlers. Don't forget about spell factory tho, I had enough gems to gem mine. Imo books of building are used best on barracks. I really hate the slow army building time

Someone mentioned the spell factory. It will be down for six days unless you get a book of building.
Miners, I don't take only miners but some people do. They are very expensive. My army cost over 300K elixir. They do great at level 2 but of course better at level 3.
I have a rushed TH11 for troop donations. Someone hit it with all miners last night. No skill whatsoever, whipped it off the face of the earth. He had level 5 miners. He had about 2 left at the end of the raid. Think he got 6k dark as my drills were boosted. :( Just drop them so they would get to the eagle asap and then my baby dragon tried to chase them around picking off one or two before they dropped under the ground again.
I used them a lot as an early TH10 but it was mostly because my freeze spell was worthless. It pretty much is until level 4 and I wasn't happy until it was level 5. At the time, heal was useless under an inferno but don't think you're heal will make it an easy three star now. It won't. I used them because they could get the benefit of heal while underground even in range of an inferno. But now, not as huge of an issue, still an issue though.
When I went to TH10, engineering had not exploded and the first six weeks were very hard. It isn't as bad now. My second TH10 didn't suffer the way my first one did. It's because the quality of bases are much weaker now. On a side note, my very rushed TH11 is a nightmare to raid with. Most troops are low it reminds me of my first TH10.
Bowlers for war, miners are not useless in war and can be used but you need the bowlers and golem maxed. Level 5 baby dragon is probably the best defensive CC troop out there.
