Registered Google+ Account on new device & now can't transfer old game to new device

Greetings All,

I've been playing Clash of the Clans on my old Android device for a while and have amassed some great progress. Now I have a new Android device and wanted to transfer the progress from my old device to my new. What I did was install Clash of the Clans on my new device, went through the tutorial, then went into settings to LINK my devices and it ask me to log into my Google+ account to complete the action. Well, nothing happened on my new device, I was still at the same progress after the tutorial. I went into my old device under settings to LINK my devices and I got a warning that I was about to overwrite my progress with my new account, from my new device. I've logged into my Google+ account to delete the Clash of Clans app registration and data, I've uninstalled Clash of Clans from my new device and reinstalled with no success. The app data keeps coming back to my Google+ account and I continue to get the warning on my old device, that I can't logon without overwriting my progress with my new account data, which is just past the tutorial. There seems to be some residual data associated with my Google+ registration in ethernet land, that I can't find or get rid of. Therefor, I can't register my old device with my current game progress, so I can transfer it to my new device. Any ideas?

I'm having the same problem as you, I did the same procedure and always says that will load a village just pass the tutorial, I did not find help and support still has not replied.

When I click on google+ sign in, on my old device, I continue to get the Google Account Alert, stating, "Do you want to load Chief Phooz's village with Town Hall level 2? Warning: progress in the current game will be lost. Cancel - Okay."

do you want to play from NEW beginning (before tutorial) on NEW device, right ?

simple steps :
1. create a NEW gmail (Google+) account on NEW device,
2. on NEW device, disconnect first,
3. and re-connected with NEW G+ account.

simply u must have a NEW G+ account, before playing on NEW device.

Couple things. Anyone done something like this from an iPad to a google account.?

i have an old account over 1 year playing on my iPad. Well I screwed around and played on android noes game for a while. Well I want my old 1year plus account on there now. :)

Would this work you think?

also how do you make a new google plus account on your phone? I can't find where to make a new one. On the same phone as the old google plus account

How did you guys get this to work? I want to use the data on my new device. I linked it to a new g+ account (following the guide), but still can't link it to my main g+ account. I can't get that data off my main g+ account!

Any clarification on what to do? It's a little confusing towards the end of his guide.

I've been trying to do this all day & something has to be missing from these steps - at some point after step 1, don't you have to go into your google+ settings and delete the game from your google+ apps?

I just don't see how logging into a different device with different information gets the account from one device to the other.

Did you tried the factory reset method ?

I have a similar problem. If you link a game created in Android to an iPad - will both devices be blocked for CoC forever? Or can you overwrite the Android with another one (created on a different device and with a different Google+ account) - of course without killing the first game on the iPad?

it seems that the g+ account will not be deleted, even if it is said that the data will be deleted

Current Google+ account with Good Village is the Problem:
I have an old samsung phone. I played CoC to TH8 on it. I wanted to play it on my new device. I asked my friend and he told it is very simple. he told it is enough to play tutorial on new device and then link it to google+ account. I did that exactly while I didn't know that I have never connected clash of clan before to google+ on my old phone and so it linked the new village (TH2 right after tutorial) as my main village. Now not only my old village has not been loaded to my new device but from then whenever I login to my old phone and login to my primary (and the only google+ account that I have) it want to reload that TH2 village to my 8 lvl one. sorry if I ask about again but I didn't find any response on how we can use our current gmail (google +) with our good village. It will be very crazy if I can not delete the link that I have made it myself. To be honest losing the ability of linking our good village to our google+ account forever with a simple mistake like this is a big bug in design. I don't know why we have to play tutorial again when we want only load our old village to a new device. Also I don't know why there exist no option to load our village just after first log in to game that can check and tell us there exist no clash of clan save on that account to prevent from similar problems that seems has happened for many before.

However, every time I try to connect COC to Google + sign-in on my old device I receive a, Google Account Alert – Do you want to load Chief reb’s village with TH level 2?

It took quite some time to get my village to where it’s at now. I can’t have my village going through a depression. I can’t believe that there is no way delete, overwrite, or just transfer the village data that I want to keep except to try creating a new Google account and do some juggling from there.

Honestly, I do enjoy playing the game but if I have to start back over or create another account than I'll probably just find another game to play. I have already spent way too much time in looking for a fix for this issue, which has been a very frequent issue with many players as I have observed in my quest for an answer. Fix it please SuperCell...

Hi,

Overwritting is not allowed because people lose more villages by accidentally overwriting.

You will need to create another G+ account.

On the old device:
Go to Device Settings > Accounts > Add Account > Google > New. Make the new account. Now open Clash and go to in game settings and connect to G+, you will be able to choose which G+ to load, choose the new one.


Now on the new device:
Go to Device Settings > Accounts > Add Account > Google > Existing.

Enter the details of the new account.

Now open Clash, go to in game settings, disconnect from G+ and then press connect, you will be able to choose which G+ to load, choose the one you just added.

Recently I decided to spend my last 6 months saved money to buy an android tablet and prevent more damage to my eyes cause of playing CoC on small screen of my old Samsung phone. Also I paid remained 250$ to buy google play gift cards and redeemed all codes right then till I can celebrate this purchase with myself by upgrading a few of those time consuming defensive structures with Gems. I usually use gift cards because I do not like to save my credit cards info on a site as much as possible. Then I called one of my friends that play same village on his phone and tablet both and asked how I can move my village to new tablet. He told you can do it simply with these steps:

1. Install CoC on new tablet.
2. Play tutorial (to be honest this part was a bit annoying but was nothing against trouble that I got into it later)
3. link your google+ account on new device and it will load your village into new device

I exactly did the steps and story continued like this:
My friend didn’t know that I have not logged into my google+ account on my old Samsung phone before and after login, it linked my google+ account to the new crappy village (TH2 at the end of tutorial state) and not only did not load my good village (TH8) but now whenever I login to my old Samsung phone and want to link it to google+ account a message appears which ask for loading that crappy village on my good one and want my confirmation for destroying all of my progress on my good village. Googling for 2 days I found many posts on forums with similar issue but none of them could not help me to link my good village to my current and the only google+ account I have. The only way that seems work is making a new google+ account and linking it to good village but in that case I cannot use my balance with my current Gmail to buy Gems. So I came here to ask how I can solve my problem and to be honest what I have seen here is not a good answer anyway.

I disagree that granting overwrite access will lead to more problems. Designing an option that ask player if he/she want to save current village or load another via google+ with 2 levels of confirmation for overwrite execution can simply solve this. Also preventing players from removing their own CoC progress from the google+ account seems like a type of permanent damage to it. I mean why I should not be able to delete my own village progress from my own google+ account?

In addition, I can not use my balance on my village with your solution. Please solve this problem and sorry if my english is not good.

I totally agree. Overwriting or deleting should not be such an issue. I searched for about a week for an answer to this problem and in every answer led back to creating a new Google + account. This is an extreme inconvenience for people that actually use the account for other things, such as in your case for redeeming credit. Why should we have to create a whole new email account just for a game? I got bored and reluctantly created a new account last night. But I got to thinking, during my research I also found that there is another issue with cancelling your COC account. There was a guy that had deleted his account, he no longer wanted to play or whatever, and he found out that his username and village was still being used by COC. He has tried to contact support and has not been helped yet from what I read. For some reason, it seems like these are intentional blocks for the game to keep heavy user base. I'm not sure what for but why else can you not delete, overwrite, or even cancel your account?

Links are permanent for security reasons.

What do you mean the solution I posted didn't work. What error are you getting?

As for buying the gems, you still can use the gift card, just be connected onto Clash with the correct G+ account and on the play store sign into the one which uses the gift card.

Also all of us agree that security levels should exist for such a game that a player progress becomes very important (cause of spending a lot of time) but the problem here is security planning not the security itself. To be honest your security planning is like closing jail door and dropping its key out when you are inside. You can clearly see the problem in my case where I can not load my village using my account only cause of a wrong log in on new device. Offer for making a new account is the most simplest way for closing eyes on such a clear problem with game design in this part. And at last, it seems that for some reasons the supercell company want not to fix this problem so I don't see it useful to continue this anymore.

All it takes is your brother to overwrite your fully maxed Town Hall 10 base. Then people will be complaining about that.

I got a new device to play Clash of Clans, finished the tutorial and connected to my google account and Then... ITS GONE! My old device is broken and won't turn on with my village level 5, and my new device AND my google account is now linked to a level 2 account!

Once I used google plus to save my progress how could this happen?!!

When I try to connect to facebook it asks to overwrite my facebook progress, can't I just load from facebook instead? It only asks if I want to replace facebook vilage, then all my progress will certainly be lost!

What can I do?

To everyone else:
What this basically does is take your progress from your "old" village, and when you sign on the new Google+ account, it copies the entire village onto this new email. Then, when you "add account" on the "new" village with the new Google+ email, it will ask you "Do you want to use So-And-So's village with Town Hall level 8". Click yes and you'll be good-to-go if you did it right.

Shiv's explanation is probably easier to understand than mine, but it works nevertheless. Again, thanks a lot:cool:

Please i hope some one has the answer. My problem is my phone stopped working and i had to reset it to factory setting. I didn't have my game linked to google plus because i didnt know and as all my apps and data was erased i had to download it again and play the tuturial and after that i had the chose to link my new village to google plus but i want to get my old town hall 9 village back. Now this new village is linked to my google account and my good village is gone. Is there anyway i can get it back

Please follow these steps:

1. Log into or confirm that you are logged into Google+.
2. Start a new game of Clash of Clans on your device and complete the tutorial.
3. Go into the in-game settings and connect your village to Google+ using the Google+ sign in button.
4. Contact Support using the "Help and Support" button in the settings menu.

The following information will be required:
Name of the village:
Name of the clan you are part of:
Town Hall level:
Date and time of your last playing session:

Provide all the details of your problem and village. DO NOT DELETE THE PRE POPULATED DATA!

Support may take up to 2-4 weeks to reply.

If they don't reply within 4 weeks you can create another thread stating your ticket number.

If supercell really dont want people to overwrite because of accident,why supercell wont create confirmation and let us choose which village we will link it to google,good or bad account(as if bad account was already linked,it should ask wether overwrite or not)like one i saw from respawnable it ask what account i should play,saved or new when i connect with facebook.I really want that and just want the developer to fix this,thank you.

You need to make a new G+ account for your main village.

The google+ bug got to me. Did you ever figure out fix for this.

If your base isn't linked to a G+ account you will be fine. If it you have to use that one.

I cant get my old clan to register to anything. Even after switching to a new google+ account. It keeps brings up my new L2 clan even though I'm on a totally new google account when I go to register it. So much monkey work I have no clue where my original clan is linked to. Now I just cant get a link code.

Are you trying to get rid of your base? You have to uninstall and then install the app.

I now have that stupid L2 clan stuck on both of my google + account. Though its never been anything other then a clan to transfer my old account to. On my old phone I still have my old clan. On new tablet a new proxy clan to transfer to. When I go to google+ sign in it has both accounts with a L2 proxy clan which according to the google+ wizards isnt possible. This is the definition of a clusterfunk.

I just pisses me off something as simple as a tablet or even a phone swap can cause this much issues. I dont want proxy google accounts. I want a code to put in my tablet to play a video game. Who thought these things up. From all accounts I'll get no help from Help and Support either I have tickets in from saturday on real gmail and proxy gmail. By the way I'm following your advice and it snags when I go to add account on old device.

I just pisses me off something as simple as a tablet or even a phone swap can cause this much issues. I dont want proxy google accounts. I want a code to put in my tablet to play a video game. Who thought these things up. From all accounts I'll get no help from Help and Support either I have tickets in from saturday on real gmail and proxy gmail. By the way I'm following your advice and it snags when I go to add account on old device.

Fricking amazes me I cant just get old device code by pushing a button.

You don't need multiple codes.

When you linked for the first time you had to be connected to G+ and GC, if you sign back into the appropriate one you will be able to load your village.

I havent got one code. Some how I have a L2 clan on both google+ accounts. Instead of a code it asks me to erase existing clan for a L2 Clan. one thing that bothers me is even though I'm signed into a new account it keeps bringing up my true google+ account. Its goofy some how it even linked my old youtube subscriptions to my new youtube account.

I think when I bought my new tablet I did it in reverse and linked my new Clan before my old clan when doing the transfer. So now on my real clan cant get the transfer code so I can move devices. Only thing coming up is if I want to erase my L55 clan for a L2 Clan. So I follow your advice started a proxy goggle+ account and follow above described directions and everytime I go to just the erase prompt. Even when on a new "google+" account I'm pulling old google account information. I feel like a dancing bear.

I'm sorry if I sound ♥♥♥♥♥♥ but this is way to much time to be fricking around with something that should be so simple.

On the android go to settings > application manger > clash of clans > clear data.

Then the lvl 2 village will be gone. Now open the android on a new village and try to link.

Ok bigger issue that just erase my whole base history.

I am also in the same situation as most of the posters to this thread. I linked my devices in the wrong order not realizing that my original game had not been linked to my G+ account. Now my G+ account is linked to a L2 game. I just opened a ticket (#2924176) and asked if my game can be correctly linked to my account G+ account. This problem does not appear that much different than a request to restore a lost game so that is the info I provided per one of the stickies on this forum. I hope this works my son really enjoyed for me to play coc with him.

Support don't change or remove links. You need to make another G+.

My new problem is google throwing sync errors. Still cant get my phone off the fake google account. I'll never mess with this ♥♥♥♥ again. L6 Clan is better then three day fighting goggle wars to save even a TH7. You'd think they'd resolve this if they just googled clan wars android linking issues.

How you failed to follow such a simple solution is beyond me.

Simple of course it is, thats why you see a pile of having troubles linking android posts.

They got back to me with copy paste directions I' ve already tried. It didn't work also my orginal android phone which I use a lot will not not sync to orginal google accounts. I've cut my loses and just don't want to be bothered by Clash of Google. Its really a messed up system with a strange work around that needs to be corrected.

I can watch my phone now tick down percents of battery and effectively made it worthless. This has become a very expensive simple fix. This has me thinking this is more of a google+ issue then blaming Clash of Clans. Still Clash of Clans uses this process so it still demands some addressing. I dont think a app game should demand this amount of fingers in a pie.

Having the same issue as you guys and I spent 10$ on the game i dont want to lose my game save data.

I'm having a similar issue. My original village TH8 was on iPhone. It broke and I was not able to get a link code from it. So I started a new village on my new Android phone (because I thought I was screwed). I am up to a TH5 but a friend had an old iPhone that I borrowed to restore my last backup. I thought I would be able to generate the link and just link my old village to my new phone. But my current village was already too high. So I created a new Google+ account but I can't start a new village on that account.

Question: Do I, first, have to clear the data on the existing install on my Android or uninstall? What is better? If I clear the data is that just of the phone or is it on the google+ account? I would potentially like to link this to a tablet or something in the future since I have already progressed this far.

On the android, it would be better if you can do a factory reset, but unistalling a clearing all the data could do the trick
You also have to use a different G+ account

OK, I have my base back. Finally! I didn't have to do a factory reset, only uninstalled the app and re-installed. (Re-installing was a little weird, had to turn my phone off/on before it let me re-install) Then I was able to start a new village with the new google+ account and run thru the tutorial and then link to my original village.

Umm so this is what happened, dropped my phone in the toliet and my phone stopped working and before i could get an new one i tried downloading an computer app which would allow me to download moblie apps and play them but something mess up when i tried to link the account to my google+ , it jus saved over my old account (TH*8) now im stuck at this (TH5) i have been playing on this new account cuz ive been bored but i would really like to play my old account again, its linked to facebook still if that helps also i remember reading somewhere that if you know your username, date of last play session, and name of clan you can email supercell and they'll help but i dont know the date i dropped my phone (couple months ago now) and i forgot the name of my clan i was in, like i said couple months now so CAN ANYONE HELP !?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

So I've got the same problem: Bought a new phone, downloaded Clash of Clans, wanted to link the devices, logged onto Google+ and then realised I'd never logged onto Google+ on my old device. So now whenever I try to log onto Google+ on my old device it asks me whether I want to load the Town Hall 2 account. I've made a new Google+ account and tried logging in with it on my old device, but it won't let me and says "Google sign-in failed. Your Google account is already associated with another game account." I've also already cleared the CoC data on my new phone and deleted the app and reinstalled it. Completed the tutorial again without signing in to Google+. Still gives me the same message on my old device.

Please contact support using the in game report an issue feature.

I worked out a solution (to my problem, which I will outline below) if anyone is interested.

Problem:

When I tried to sign in to google plus in-game to log progress, I kept getting a message saying it would load my village from town hall 3 and all other progress would be lost. Obviously, this was not an option. The reason for this problem, presumably, was that I had created a clash of clans account some time ago that I used for 1 day before resetting. This account was now saved as my go to google + account. Worried that if my phone kicked the bucket, I would lose all my progress, I started looking into a work around solution. This is what I found that has worked successfully:

Solution:

* Open google plus on your phone.
* Delete your google plus account (I can't remember the steps for doing this, but there is a specific google webpage you can go to to remove a google plus account...just google it).
* Create a new Google plus account (or you could try using an existing smurf account that was not linked to your Clash of Clans.
* Log into Clash of Clans and click 'connect to google plus'

These instructions are a bit rough as I don't remember exactly each step, however you should get the general picture from them. If you're confused about anything, just reply and I will try to answer your question.

Its best to do this on a computer or using opera browser in desktop mode

Go to plus.Google.com/apps
Tap clash of clans so a pencil will appear next to it to the right. Tap this pencil, then tap disconnect, a prompt will appear, if you'd like you can check "delete all activities from Google+" as well. It will say it may take an hour and you will no longer be able to access the account via that email blah blah. Tap disconnect again.

It is INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT to be signed into the account which you will be disconnecting/connecting to a new email otherwise you WILL NOT be able to retrieve it once its disconnected.

After you've disconnected it simply open CoC and you should be prompted to sign in, if you've already added your new gmail account to your phone just click that account and sign in.
Congrats, you've disconnected your clash village from your old gmail and linked it to your new one :)

Bro, please stop posting this, it isn't possible, the clash account is linked to your G+ account on the SC servers, it can't be changed or removed.

I have CoC on my Android mobile that I want to keep. I linked it to my work's Ipad. Work took my ipad in and few weeks later gave me a different one. I downloaded CoC but it will not let me link saying I have already linked. Wondering if Forums tips about creating new Google account will work in this instance?

Links can't be changed so if your base was already on X it will always be on X.

Hey shiv, thought I'd ask here because you seem to know what's up.

My brother has a village attached to his Google+ account. I also have a village and an Andriod phone, on my own Google+ account. Basically he wants to take a break and wants me to babysit his village for him. My question is, can I do this on my own phone without losing my own progress? Is it just a matter of linking the devices, setting up his Google+ account as an additional account on my phone, and then signing in and out of Google+ with the different accounts to access each village?

I entered the game and went to the achievements and tapped the controller up to go to the google+ process and there i went to the sharing settings and disconnected there, now i cant connect to any other google+ account! When i go to the settings inside the game and tap on "disconnected" to connect is stays disconnected :'( plzz help

Afterwards I re-installed Clash of Clans, went through the tutorial- and tried to sign into my Google+ account - but it somehow disassociated from my primary village and now is associated with this new Town Hall 2 Village.

The below solution doesn't work because I can't link my primary account to Google+ through my I-phone.

1. Remove the app from google+ account
2. Make a new google+ account
3. Start the game from the new device
4. Link the game from the new device to the new google+ account
5. Disconnect
6. Start the game from the old device

It means you are using the wrong G+ account because villages cannot be unlinked.

Contact supercell about it. Your base is somewhere in the database of the game, but you can't get it back by doing any tutorials and whatnot because the new account has overrode your old account progress.

IT JUST SAYS THAT EVERYTIME!!

just hit okay type confirm. if you want to go back to the other one then disconnect G+, then connect again. All progress up to the point when G+ is in connected status (green) will be saved. But if it is red (disconnected) those progress will not be saved.

I ue 8 accounts in my android and I just click G+ disconnect to switch from village to village. I will get the message and press ok
then type CONFIRM must be capital letters..done

Well i had the same problem. I got it on my new phone tho. But i can't sync it with google+ without getting my old (new and bad) village. So i made a new google+ account. Logged in with it on both phones. Synced them. and now i got the same village on both.

But now i have to stay disconnected in order to play. Which is kinda sad.

Any "real" solutions would be great and a comment from supercell would be even better.

So... I'm having a similar issue and I'm not sure about sorting through the mess on here. I had played multiple accounts on both my android phone and tablet for a while. I was trying to sign into my th9 acct and i got distracted and i guess instead of saying yes load my game, it continued with the tutorial. I looked down and realized and exited out and tried again, now when i choose the same goigle account for my th9, it now says do you want to load chief (whatever) th1?

On my tablet I can still access my th9. I've done everything i can think of on my phone, including taking off the google account in question and readding it. Still keeps asking if i want to load this th1. Any suggestions?
