Please pass on to your little chap that I can't afford it either, so he's not the only one who will have to enjoy it on someone else's farm for now.:rolleyes:
There's a confirm to make in app purchase of diamonds. Confirmation of diamond usage taking this long to develop isn't admirable, it's pretty much ♥♥♥♥.
Thanks for the feedback, am giving the compliment back to my neighbours and fellow forum pals xx I am not quitting completely, I only will invest much, much less time in HD. The machines and basic supplies will probably run for a while, there are still masteries to go for.
For your information: I have never spent a cent either, all decoration and slots come from really hard work and excessively many hours. It is their strongest marketing plot being totally free - while we all know that the majority of players will sooner or later spend real money on it.
For your further information: I am a professional business developer and marketing person, and this may be the reason that I have and recognize certain thinking patterns. I would do what they do with their audience and customers, and it pisses me off to see what is truly happening here with all the nice people, having big hearts and being supportive. They deserve better than that.
Nobody is forced to buy anything in this world, to ruin their health or whatever. Everyone at least in wealthy western countries is free to live a lifestyle and have priorities as they wish. Still people do buy things which they believe add to their welbeing, while they are just buying into an illusion. All a question of good marketing.
I wished more people would go for social support, love and peace. From a business developers point of view, Supercell made genious moves in the past but now they are showing much more true face than I can stand. From the view point of the customer, I liked the former illusion better.
Hi long time forum lurker who read this post and just wanted to add my two cents.
I started playing this game in June and while I enjoy, I do think the lack of a diamond confirmation button is a money maker. This is based on my own experience.
When I first started playing this game, I knew nothing about it (or this forum). It was suggested in my App Store and had a high user rating. I did not know about how diamonds were easily lost and made a purchase of diamonds. I learned soon enough, lol! Within a short time, I could not believe it my diamond were gone! I thought something was wrong. I contacted Apple customer service and told them my diamonds disappeared and I wanted a refund! I was given the response that diamonds are easily lost in the game and yes I did use them. Bottom line too bad so sad. I did not press the issue as it was not a large sum of money and chalked it up to lesson learned.
My experience does show that yes, no one is forced to buy diamonds, but how many new players, like myself at the time, do purchase diamonds and are not aware of this issue and end up losing them? I think a lot of people and because of this, SC does appear to be making money off a person's ignorance. That is not right and does show some greed on SC's part. Sure, as you play the game more you learn of other ways to find diamonds and yes SC does give away diamonds. But how many people stick with the game that long to reap these rewards, after already getting that players money? And there are many NEW players picking up the game everyday, as evident by the recent sale of the company (no one is going to pay that much money for a company that is not growing).
Anyways just my two cents FTW. Happy Haydaying!

Hi Guys - I'm sorry to see you upset by the new updates, and the price of the Xmas tree. I completely sympathise with Helen, having a child and seeing them forlorn at the price of the tree. I'm an adult and probably felt the same as your child, (but hopefully bore it slightly more stoically). :o
But generally, I still find Hay Day amazing. I've played it almost a year, now and have only paid 0.69p I think. And I only paid that to say a kind of thank you to SC for all the pleasure they've given - yeah pretty mean I know!
I can't believe how much creativity and new things they are always giving to us, and how many hours of fun I've had playing it for free. The themes the decorations, and the forum too! a whole community of crazies discussing HD like it's a real thing! (OK you're right it is) they maintain that and have people moderating it etc and all for free!
I love the machines, I don't feel a need to spend diamonds to speed them up, perhaps just a temptation, but really it's just like waiting for Christmas day, for you to be able to open your new toys so can start playing them. Good things come to those who wait!
And you can earn diamonds by mining or finding them, so it's not like you can't get that tree eventually if you want.
If you buy Tom for 5 days over the weekend and 3 days at work/school, you can still get enough shovels to probably replenish the diamonds and perhaps more beside.
Perhaps CEMFF has it right and it's the beginning of the end, perhaps the game will slowly become more money grabbing, but if I can resist Candy Cash, which is the most shocking money-grabbing, gambling-esque type game I can resist anything!

However I have to disagree with your reasoning. SuperCel is a company. And they built their game on the premise of a good idea and obviously to make a living. They offered it for free, and everyone can make a choice whether to play it for free or pay money for it. They aren't pushing anything IMO. It's totally the customer's choice to buy into it or not.
Case in point: I am level 92. Never have I spent a dime on this game. I don't totally like or agree with the moral practices of some businesses, but I simply can't fault a business for offering their product for free.
