Taking it easy now...

While I admit I find the long time it is taking to get a confirmation button frustrating, the simple fact that SC is working on it is admirable-- it will decrease the company profits. If you have been following the forum for a while it is obvious that SC does listen to us and use our suggestions.

It is amazing to me that one can play this game so satisfactorily spending absolutely no real money. I haven't ever bought a diamond and know many other higher level players who also haven't. There are very few long-term games you can say this about. Obviously many people are buying, LOL… and I'm happy they are. But you don't have to. And I find it hard to gripe about losing diamonds now and then when they were given to me in the first place!!

For those frustrated by playing, the choice is yours. Continue playing unhappily or stop playing and find another time waster!! :)

As far as the confirmation button for diamonds being mentioned by Pink - testing - hahahahahahaha - not happening. I play a similar game and they have a confirmation button before I make a purchase. The mention of testing for confirmation button and giving it to a few is just to appease the masses.

Ummm… just have to ask. Do you really think the company would waste programmers' time (and thus money) developing a confirmation button if they knew upfront they weren't going to implement it?? I think it much more likely they would have just continued ignoring us.

I have never spent any single dime on this game and IMO it is one of the best freemium game for iOS. SC is generous with free diamonds and if you waste couple by accident you can replenish themin short period. Try to open mystery boxes on as many farm as you can and you will probably find one with diamonds at last. Name other game that gives you that!
SC isn't agressive with IAPs and never forces players to purchase more diamonds. If you play daily at the end of week you will probably have enough diamonds to hire Tom get items you need sell them on stall or complete truck and boat orders whatever your goal is. Game is perfect and hardly it could be better.
As for diamond usage confirm button it would never happen and nobody can blame SC for that. Companies exist to make profit and why should Super cell be exeption.

Welcome back, PinkStarbelly! I agree with everything you have written in this thread and as someone who hasn't bought any diamonds I'd like to thank those who have - without them there would be no HD for me to play.

I've played since May and am happy with my progress & all the new additions that I have witnessed. I'm thinking of buying a bunch of diamonds because really it isn't fair that SC is getting nothing out of the entertaining moments I've spent playing.

And by "moments" i really meant hours. Hours and hours and hours... ;-)

I don't think it is SC that is being greedy with the high prices for certain decorations and other things. I think it is each player's impatience and desire to have the items that cost a lot of diamonds. I'm fine with not having a Christmas tree, and besides that, for the expensive Halloween decorations, they gave them to use if we participated in the pie event. So I think SC is obviously rewarding those players who choose to play without spending money too.

Plus they get plenty of money from the commercials [which we don't HAVE to watch, either].

It's as easy as 1 + 1 = 3 (:rolleyes:).

Everyone is totally FREE to spend/or not spend any money on this game. Those who do, fine. Those who don't, also fine. If someone wants to buy 500 christmas trees at 30 diamonds a piece, that's their call.

I think it's ridiculous to call Supercell's competent and well executed business plan "greed", but that's just me. I'm a capitalist at heart, and I have seen a LOT of crappy pay-to-win/squeeze the player mobile games in the last few years. HayDay is far and away one of the BEST free to play experiences out there.

Diamonds are a shortcut for time, and that's about it. Diamonds are GIVEN out in the game. If special exclusive decorations are so important to a player, and they don't want to pay any real world cash, then I would think that player would try very hard to save their diamonds, OR actively spend some of their play time doing things that are likely to generate more diamonds in game so they can buy what they want.

Myself? I'm not going to spend any diamonds on Christmas decorations until I see if we get some more global events during the winter update. Last time I dropped some gems to get that Spooky Tree early, and then ended up getting one for free from the event!

You've been a lovely neighbor and I'm sad to see you so upset but it's been building in you for a while now. While you know I don't feel the same way (I'm in PinkStarrbelly's camp), I still understand why you feel as you do and offer any support I can give to either return your enjoyment of HD or just keep in touch with a PM to say hi now and then.

There are enough stresses in real life, and you certainly have extras of your own outside of the ordinary, so added stresses from a game of all things, just are not worth the toll on your health and well being. I know the added stress of "just a game" has contributed to bad side effects, which in turn is likely heightening your sensitivities to certain issues. Caught in a catch 22. Not a good thing.

Some folks are lucky to be able to say "oh well, it just a game...go with the flow" while others are not so lucky and find the lack of control over "just a game", beyond frustrating. That's no different than in real life where one person can handle a challenging situation and conquer it while another struggles with the same situation, but lacking the same skills or ingrained outlook, ends up in tears of frustration.

When a break is needed, from whatever situation and for whatever reason, it's imperative the need not be ignored.
