Goodbye Hay Day

I know many have noticed my farm name says retired, now it is time to make it official.

i have lost the love of the game completely due to Hayday team actions.

Constant Bugs and glitches
Cant show screen shots of interactions with help & support
The screwed up Derby Themes
Everything is geared towards diamond purchases that it has gone too far.

Spent over $14k made some life long friends and made some enemies. Thought taking a break would change my views but I just cant bring myself to open the app anymore.

To the friends I have made here I will miss you all and wish you the best of luck. To the enemies eh good luck.

It’s been very strange you being retired, I very optimistically hoped you’d get back into it, but thought, sadly, probably not. Your voice will be very much missed on the forum, by the players at least <wry grin>. You know where we are if you miss it too much.

I took a break from the game at one point. I think the annoying foxes put me over the edge. I got so fixated on trying to keep them out of my farm, I lost my marbles. I played others games. Spent hefty amounts on other games. Eventually, I picked up Hay Day again and realized it had more support than most of the other MMO games I played. They are also mostly ad-free (thank god!) other than the movie tickets if you haven't spent yet, and the Hay Day team seems to actively work on bugs and engage with players on updates.

I personally don't feel Hay Day is pushy on spending. I have played other games where there was pressure if you were not spending nearly $100 a week, you were useless (yes! I was useless!). But, I have completed nearly every derby without spending a diamond, other than the 10th task. I think I spend $20 a month to bankroll all 3 helpers, but it's an option I choose and could easily do without them.

The part the OP does not mention, is high level players do not have much to strive for. This is probably the major contributing factor to leaving. It can make other problems seem much more serious than they are. Smart move on part of OP - if you are unhappy, stop playing. It is supposed to be fun and enjoyable. When it stops being such for me, I will stop as well.

I must just be lucky, but I very rarely come across a problem playing Hay Day. I have not had any screwed up Derby Themes either. Perhaps it is the platform being played on?

Why does being able to show a screen shot interfere with one's enjoyment of the game? Don't follow that. Also, diamonds are not necessary to play (I do not spend). Like a previous poster, I appreciate that I can play without buying any and the lack of ads. At a high level, I have opened all slots just by free diamonds. Now they just accumulate.

Hay Day is not for everyone, and Hay Day is not forever. And in the big picture, Hay Day is not important. Enjoy whatever you choose to do next.

Instead of retiring from the HD, I chose to play it casually while waiting for new updates. Now I'm playing several times a week instead of several times a day in the distant past. If I continue to play it actively, it will become a daily chore and not fun to play.

I'm speculating the OP wants to share his frustrations of interacting with Player Support by posting his questions and replies verbatim from Player Support. I would too but doing so will breach the existing forum rules. The Mod Squad said we must ask and receive permission from Player Support before posting screenshots of their replies. Alternately, we may also paraphrase replies from Player Support but must not quote them verbatim.

Of all the frustrations you could have, it's the *foxes*? I guess they should make it optional. I think they're kinda cute, though.

This game empties my brain in seconds. Aggravation with customers, or when I'm in a dead end in search of solutions ... short open HD, these are disabling thoughts.


That's why I play. The graphics are beautiful, detailed and not very realistic.
The German-speaking support is helpful, nice and damn fast.
SC offers always new. I do not like everything, but I do not have to, because I have a lot of freedom in this game.

My solution is to keep playing, acknowledge that the game has a lot of issues, never ever ever EVER contact customer unsupport again, and also to never ever ever EVER buy diamonds again.

I find I'm not anxious to get back to the game any more. Which is a good thing! I wandered away for five hours last night and Hay Day never even crossed my mind. Life is better with less Hay Day, sad to say.

^^ agreed. I'm also toying with the idea of taking a break.

I've done it before. 4 months and I didn't think about the game. Nor did I spend anything.

Oh, there was enough to do for high level players until Supercell STEALTH NERFED truck xp in November, 2017.

Who would want to play when 4 jams are worth 316 xp?

You guys broke the game and lost many high level players.

You can add to your list:
Nerfing Truck xp for high level players - then watch 3 devs say it's a bug, will be fixed; then watch 3 more devs say it's not a bug and won't be fixed

truck xp nerfing....knew i wasnt crazy. 2 jelly beans for 1500 stars and low amount of coin.....versus the old rate of at least 3000 stars and low coin.

Stopped spending real $ on the game about 3 months ago, enjoying it much more.

They better add something for high (100+) level players in the march update or i will quit the game too.

I share some of the other's opinions that something needs to happen for 100+ players. I was a regular purchaser of the 4000 diamond pack. Not as much as the OP but I'm sure at least a third.

I need something to work towards, I suppose. It makes the game more enjoyable for me. I'm imploring SC to look into this and gives it serious thought.

$14K omg - to make the game more challenging don't spend so much real money buying diamonds. It makes the game a lot more challenging.

i have been playing Hayday since its early days and have not spent a penny. I have a very low disposable income and cannot justify spending money on a game when the kids need food.

I understand people need to spend for Supercell to continue to produce the game but set yourself a limit of the price of a coffee and forgo your coffee for that day. I unfortunately cannot afford to buy take away coffee - so that is not an option for me. I also understand that Supecell needs the unfinancial players as well to boost numbers to make the game more interesting for those that do pay.

take a break and play something else for a while - you will return when you make comparisons to other games out there.

I took a break last summer, it lasted about 4 months. When I returned I found interest in it again, maybe you just need a break.

I have been playing HayDay for at least 3 years and over that time period I have taken several very long breaks. As a matter of fact, I stopped playing in November shortly after I hit level 100, and I just now this week found myself missing HayDay again so I have started playing again :). I see that there are now fishing area boosters, yay!

When I'm actively playing, I do purchase the 4000 diamond option a few times a year, but only when it is offered at 30% off. Usually someone buys it for me for my birthday, Mother's day, Christmas, etc. I will also sometimes buy the special deco packages as well, as long as they are less than $5. Averaged out, I would say it comes out to about $15-20/month spent on HayDay. I don't think that's so bad, it's my entertainment, and I know MANY people who spend more than that on drive-thru coffee each week :D!

But if you (OP) feel it's time to stop altogether then I wish you the best! I have a feeling you might miss it though and won't be surprised if you come back after a long break :).
