Oh, just thought I'd pass this on too...fairly recently, I've done some trading. After I purchase my trade item, I make a quick look around to see if they need any help. I noticed numerous with the dreaded sugar/dairy boats flagged (during the boating event no less), So I PM'ed them just to share a little insight. Probably four out of five had no idea they could send their boat away, and were extremely grateful I mentioned it! I believe if the PM (or KIK) is tactfully worded, a lot of good can come from the sharing of information. We're mostly creatures of habit so just because someone checks a trading forum, they not to scope out other topics.

So the long and the short of this? Perhaps some people are not aware that they do not have to be stuck with an unwanted boat order. When the situation present itself, friendly sharing of information between farmers can go a long way into making someone else's gaming experience, more enjoyable. :)

P.S. This message is definitely not meant to be critical to anyone. I'm infamous for flipping situations around in my head to try and understand how another person may feel, or what their motivations may have been. I'm simply trying to show the possible other side of this coin...which may result with a simple "DOH!!! I didn't know I could do that. Thanks for telling me!!" Happy Farming!!!

Well that explains a lot. I know I have posted many times about casting off boats and since most if not all of my friends came from the forum, I figured they knew how to do it. if I had the time I bet if I scoured the GC share thread, i'd find that some of those had very low post counts and possibly just joined to add friends.

hey guys i have little problem too...strawberry jam was unlocked yesterday and i didnt have time to make even 1 when my boat asked for it 9 jams unbelievable,and if that wasnt enough it asked for strawberry jam again in the next boat im starting to freak out.can anybody help me?

Thanks perkycox i didnt know about the boat cast till now and im level 51.the bad news is i already asked for help and i cant send it...guess ill have to wait 14 hours.that sucks.its a great game but they have a lot of issues that they dont want to solve...

I dont recall if the scarecrow helper tells about casting off the boats? It was a long time ago that we repaired the dock.

There are so many HD players who are not on the forums, and of those who ARE, still many many MANY do not know you can cast off any boat they do not want to do. :(

Go to the top of the forum and find the sticky called Main guide and links...(I think). in the first post is a link to the official boat help thread. if you post there maybe someone can sell you what you need to finish that boat

I think the reason salads, sushi and sauces are showing up on boat orders so soon is due to lazy coding and not wanting to put in a "delay" of 24hrs until people actually have these machines up and running.

I think boat orders are random. So, anything can come at any time (level based, of course).

They should have either coded it properly for a delay OR taken the game down to open up new orders.

They were just lazy in not allotting for the time to purchase and make the new machines and the time to make those first products on them.

You are probably right here because the same thing happened when the lobsters and soup kitchen were added. Not five minutes after the update came out, boats were asking for products no one had. It all evened out within a couple days and people were actually selling lobsters a few weeks later. The weird thing is that I haven't gotten lobster soup boats in over a month, but just in the last couple days turned away at least three boats with new products. It almost seems like the randomness is not quite so random with regards to the new stuff. Someone, with more time and OCD than I have, might want to put all this on a spreadsheet. ;-)

Yup, exactly right, forgot about that: that update had a lobster cooking machine up for purchase and a net maker for purchase and "boom" just like that at the same exact time boats showed up looking for: lobster soup. You couldn't possibly have lobster soups made!
