Hard Times - Sushi Orders

Why, oh why, does the boat have sushi orders already? A couple of my neighbors had help flags out. When I stopped by to see if I could help fill the crates, I discovered they needed sushi and soy sauce. Now, unless you're willing to use diamonds to speed up the process, the sushi machine won't be ready for another day or so. Poor neighbors with such unfortunate luck! I know the orders are supposed to be random, but c'mon...

Just checked my next boat order. Pumpkins, wheat, and...sushi. Sniff, sniff :(

Send that boat on its way down the river. Waving bye bye from the dock.

I asked this question in another thread. I was able to buy (Tom) 7 bottles of soy sauce about an hour ago for an upcoming boat. Who can already have made 7 bottles of 3+ hour soy sauce??

I had a neighbours boat ask for soy sauce too and Of course poor ol me couldn't help, coz I'm not on that level.
I have seen a couple of farms have the machines already working??? Must have used diamonds to speed them up, no doubt they cost a few coins too and me is gonna have to make and sell lots of stuff :)

I can't figure out why anyone would keep a boat like that and flag three out of four crates for the new items. Do they honestly think that anyone is going to fill them for them? 5 out of 20 of the boats on my help list were like that. 13 wanted cream or sugar, leaving me only 2 that I could help at all. I'll be glad when it evens out like the lobster boats did.

My very first boat after the update asked for the Feta salad, and it was still during the boat event...how could they have done that to us? I waved it down the river with a tear in my eye. Missed the event with my last boat by 30min. Good thing I was totally distracted by all the new goodies to mind too much.

I went through my neighbors' flagged boats tonight. 14 of them. Of those, 3 had flagged 3 crates of 3 soy sauce each (each also had a fourth unfilled crate of soy sauce), 2 flagged 3 crates of olives (two boats had crates of 5 and the other was crates of 8), 1 had flagged 3 crates of feta salad, 1 needed BLT salad in 3 crates, 1 flagged 3 crates of sushi, 1 had 3 crates flagged of lettuce wanting 8 each and a fourth unfilled crate, 1 flagged 3 crates of strawberry jam, 2 had 3 crates of flagged white sugar, 1 had 3 crates of flagged cream, and 1 wanted hot chocolate. I could only help the hot chocolate boat.

Then I checked my boat. I didn't have time to check it a few hours ago when I cast off my fourth sugar boat in a row. I found my incoming boat wanted syrup and BLT salad. Off that one will go unfilled also! I didn't get many double voucher boats filled during the last event between all the sugar and dairy boats I got and cast off.

I cant understand how people think they'll get those flagged crates filled when all of those products and machines were released about 18 hours ago. I've seen some neighbors who used diamonds to speed up the machines. I'm not that rich and don't want to spent more money on diamonds until we get a diamond confirmation button. It'll be a few days before I have enough of any of the new products. There goes lots of boat and orders from the truck board! My trucks want mayo!! I'm not complaining, just impatient for everything to even out.

Before I became aware of the forum, I had no idea there was a "cast off" option. I'm almost embarrassed to say what level I was before I sat down and said, hmmmm, I wonder if there's away to get rid of these darn things? Took about two minutes and a google search to find my answer...that certainly was a DOH! forehead smackin' realization! I honestly believe that most of these unattainable boat fills are left at the dock and flagged, because the farmers just aren't aware of that cast off option. Really is a shame; I know I was on the verge of quitting the game until I discovered that.

Oh, just thought I'd pass this on too...fairly recently, I've done some trading. After I purchase my trade item, I make a quick look around to see if they need any help. I noticed numerous with the dreaded sugar/dairy boats flagged (during the boating event no less), So I PM'ed them just to share a little insight. Probably four out of five had no idea they could send their boat away, and were extremely grateful I mentioned it! I believe if the PM (or KIK) is tactfully worded, a lot of good can come from the sharing of information. We're mostly creatures of habit so just because someone checks a trading forum, they not to scope out other topics.

So the long and the short of this? Perhaps some people are not aware that they do not have to be stuck with an unwanted boat order. When the situation present itself, friendly sharing of information between farmers can go a long way into making someone else's gaming experience, more enjoyable. :)

P.S. This message is definitely not meant to be critical to anyone. I'm infamous for flipping situations around in my head to try and understand how another person may feel, or what their motivations may have been. I'm simply trying to show the possible other side of this coin...which may result with a simple "DOH!!! I didn't know I could do that. Thanks for telling me!!" Happy Farming!!!
