You might be right that I must be one of thousands to be contributing into the problem. But you do accept it is a problem right? My only idea was to bring that problem under spotlight for it's solution from the tech guys behind and not from the keyboard smarties.

It’s economics! Supply and demand. Short of the techie guys changing something that would say “nope, you’re not advertising that” I doubt anything can be done. And I seriously hope that never happens. It’s the players that need to change or play smarter. If players realize that the DD is full of rustic bouquets, stop advertising them or putting so many in your stand at one time. Let Tom or Greg buy them, instead of deleting them with diamonds.

Every player that bought the Flower Shop would probably like to get the mastery on it. And until that starts to happen, the rustic bouquet will be the bacon and eggs of 4 years ago, and the tofu dog and red cloche hat of just a few years ago. It takes approximately 5 hours to make 10 bouquets. Don’t wait until you have 100 to start filling your stand with them. Put them in the back of your stand so that seeing them there doesn’t bother you.

(And when I say ‘you’ I am speaking players in general, not you specifically)

The fact remains that whether it’s tofu dogs, bacon and eggs or bouquets there is always something that will be more plentiful in the paper.
Take away the bouquets, tofu dogs etc and we’ll go back to bitter complaints of “stop selling wheat!”

Its an open market so that is bound to happen.
And when a Visitor Event happens there are those of us making the best of the abundance of rustic bouquets in the paper.

Everything else now seems extremely easy to sell and that wasn’t always the case.

I've been posting 10 bouquets with just 10% discount when I need boat help and, quite surprisingly, they're selling almost instantly.

Make them and store them in the barn, when you have more than anything else - the walk up visitors will buy them for half maximum price.

There isn’t ‘a problem’ to alert SC to. It’s just the way it is, and has been, since the beginning of time. There will always be something that is more favourable to sell, for no reason or another. The reasons change, but the basic premise doesn’t - that the majority of people will sell a particular item because it benefits the majority to do so, whether that’s down to coins/mastery/least use. If it’s not RB’s it’ll be something else and it really doesn’t matter...it’s just like a front door, you need to open it to see what’s inside!

Have been playing for 4 years now, and it is always something more plentiful.

Bacon and Eggs and full-priced wheat flooded the paper when I first started. You literally could not even sell bacon and eggs at default price because just about everyone eventually sold them at default price. As I got higher in levels, it changes a bit as you unlock new machines and can be exposed to the different ads for those machines. I remember when I unlocked the hat machine, the DD was FLOODED with cloche hats - even those were selling slow at default.

The one thing I noticed, is that a super majority of players are refusing to cut back on their max price (even a small amount) for the sake of selling them. Hay Day has its own micro-economy that follows a typical economical rule... supply vs. demand.

High demand for these item only really occurs during the farm visitor event. All other times, there is a very large supply with almost no demand. In a typical economical situation, most suppliers would start to reduce output. But, because most are looking to achieve mastery levels on their machines, everyone outputting the same items at 100% capacity.

I do agree the Bright Bouquets were a bit of a flop requiring 5 iron ores per bouquet. I can hardly output a few of those here and there as it just requires too much, and at level 65... coins are typically starting to get tight due to the cost of machines.

That means, most players from level 49-93 are all producing the same item. Too much supply.

That being said, I don't think SC can do much... they give you the tools and how you use them is up to you. And how the entire community uses them, ultimately establishes the economy of the game. They already host the farm visitor event almost every 2 weeks now (which I love!). I do see boat orders and town building requests for them. So, they are an active part of the game demand.

Ultimately, I think it is a matter of time and the supply will run its course. For now, do a cost analysis on the ones you are making (are your rustic bouquet supplies coming from the market, or are they self made?). Then, adjust your sale price accordingly that still makes them fly off the shelves at a pace that makes you happy. You don't HAVE to throw them away - eventually Tom or Greg will buy them. I personally always buy rustic bouquets if they are selling for default, because I couple them with the ones I make and sell them off to a farm visitor and still end up making a decent profit.

Are you suggesting that Team Hay Day should increase the production time of Rustic Bouquets so that players will make less of them?

I didn't have trouble selling any goods until the Hat Maker was introduced when I put Red Hats for sale at max price. After it took more than 24 hours for them to be bought, I decided to find out why by looking in the newspaper. I realized the problem when I saw that many Red Hats were in the newspaper. The first step I took was to stop making Red Hats and stop selling them because they were clogging up my shop. Now I just buy them from the newspaper if I need some for boat and truck orders and visitors. I learned there's a correlation between what we players sell and what we see in the newspaper and applied this valuable lesson whenever a new machine is introduced.

I can't control what other players sell but I can control what I do. Since I don't want to contribute to the oversupply of Rustic Bouquets in the newspaper currently, I sell them at default price and only a few at a time and I don't advertise them. They are usually bought in less than 12 hours.

Dabingpanda, I wish you luck if you're hoping Team Hay Day will provide a technical solution to the Rustic Bouquets mess.

DP: why are you trashing your sales? If you just leave the bouquets in your shop, either Tom or Greg will buy one box of bouquets a day. This is why I leave them in my shop at max price. Every day I sell 10, and I never advertise them. :)
